I heard in an interview that Glen Hansard was writing about his father and the song wasn't ready because it didn't feel right, even to his father's spirit. He's still trying to find the right words to make the song mean something important for him.
Mr. Hansard's music is honest. His songs are real life. He brings every one of them to my level and the words look me straight in the eyes. I never need to guess what he is feeling, because he bares his soul. Good on ya', Glen Hansard!
Glen's band is brilliant. The music gets tighter and stronger with each new effort. Glen's singing cuts through the noise and straight into my heart! I first heard "SONG OF GOOD HOPE" just before my wife was diagnosed with cancer. That song kept me going. It's almost eerie how his new material seems to express the many things that I could never figure out how to talk about, myself. "HER MERCY" has brought tears to my eyes more times that I should admit. "PAYING MY WAY" is a quiet anthem for all of us who are doing just that! Right on, Mr Hansard!!!
I saw Once and was captured. Some of your song's remind me of the son's that are in the underworld, they are lost right now. A couple of songs seam like a prayer and truly touched my heart. Keep praying!
watch his movie.. once its called.. very simple British movie but you cannot take your eyes off it.. his music and the movie is captivating.. like his music the film hits the soul..
Tan Quan Giang scrolling through the comment section and couldn't let this lie, it's not a British movie, it's an Irish movie, shot in Dublin, Republic of Ireland..
+Angie Torres The new record Didn't He Ramble is great on wax. I listen so much on vinyl I own two copies. I also find myself listening to his EP Drive All Night on vinyl a lot. Especially when friends are over or I'm having a drink. Both are great records!

🧐I can’t find this song on Apple Music. Where can I find it?🤔
A guitar and a Voice, that's all he needs.
Love it when he stops at the end listening to the bell and plays the last chord in time. Such a great artist.

His live rendition of this with horns and strings is one of the greatest things I’ve ever heard. You need to see him live, it will change your life.

One of my best singer ever.
Fantastically magical! And Glen says, "It's not quite finished yet."

This video is what made me back the Cardinal Sessions Kickstarter a few years ago. :)
upset that this song wasn't included in the new album. especially odd since the album and song share the same title.
