- Just before his show at La Cigale in Paris, we were lucky to be able to shoot two songs from Glen's new album Didn't He Ramble on a small parisian balcony. It was a bit chilly and quite windy, phones and wallets were used so that the wind wouldn't blow the music sheets away but we had tea and beautiful music to warm us up.
Glen is touring Europe right now, he's in Denmark tonight Oct 5th and he will play four show in Germany from the 7th. Full tour dates here : glenhansardmusi...

Every now and then a troubadour steps out of the fog and lights up the whole music scene. Glen Hansard is one of them. He is the real deal. Even his newest songs feel like they have been kicking around the back of my mind for my whole life. Phenomenal stuff!

I saw Glen on the 30th of september for the third time in Belgium. The last time in Brussels just before La Cigale in Paris I had the time of my life. The feeling in his lyrics, the emotion in the music, it's all there needs to be at that moment. I play all of his old songs on performances and now Iearn all of his new songs too, you just never get tired of it! Thanks Glen for this wonderful music!!

a "please" never hurts but you're totally right, it was Glen's live band at the time and we forgot to credit them. It's done at the end of the credits now check it out and thanks for pointing this to us

@@philiplane108 I'm the one who shot this session (the person who replied to you above is the other director). I don't play any instrument of this family, just guitar & keys but i'm pretty sure it's a viola because of its size. Also Jeanie seems to be mainly a viola player (her website is called jeanieviola.com) and most webpages talking about the 2015 tour have her credited for viola.
@@lecargo.webzine Thank you very much. Sadly, the viola is an underused instrument, and it's difficult to understand why, as it produces such a beautiful sound.
@@philiplane108 I totally agree :) I think part of the reason is there's more classical works written for solo violin and in the orchestra the viola role is more "support" than lead . also young people might not even know the viola exists if they don't have a family with good musical education so perhaps they wouldn't ask for viola
