The energy in this performance is pretty incredible. I'm partial though because I was surprised by a nod to one of my favorite Rage Against The Machine songs too!!!!
AND... I was surprised by several notes that Ren sang: He displayed a well developed mixed voice!
There's about 2 seconds during the guitar solo when you can see both Ren and Romain's faces and they both are both just into it, the smiles are real and the emotion is so positive. This is what happens whey you watch musicians who hit the groove at the same time, they start feeding off each other and it becomes more than music. Love it.
THIS!! They switch off lead on guitar and/ or vocals seamlessly and without the bullshit ego getting in the way. Romain’s smile is 1000kw. Watching Dignity is a perfect example.

Wade In The Water and Englishmen In New York are not just great vocal performances but his guitar (and bass!) playing are killer as well.

The Sam/Ren Mans World is INSANE. Sam's falsetto is ridiculous. There is an interview out there somewhere and Ren called him The Male version of Mariah.
Yeah time to get to Sam! 💜💜💜 Blind Eyed live💜 there are multiple versions. The one with the "angry parking attendent" is my favourite, but vocal wise maybe the one buskin in Brighton.

Wade In The Water from the Big Push shows some pretty amazing vocals. Ren sings through the first half and blows everyone away, and Gorren finishes the mashup. I think you would really enjoy Ren and Sam Tomkins busking Earned It/ Mans World/Falling. I think Sam will blow your mind, too. Rem primarily sings Man's World, and it's 🤯! Ren and Sam met when Sam was 16, and he heard his voice in the street and stopped immediately. You could say Ren mentored him a little, and Sam is very much a big part of "the Ren friends." 😊 I think these two videos show mixed voice, but don't hold me to it. Lol, Walking on The Moon/No Diggity from Sam and Ren's same busking session shows some amazing vocals from Ren, too!
The Big Push’s original, Precious, is a beautiful display of Ren’s vocals and mixed voice in a slower, heartfelt song. The studio recording is great and it has a really neat lyric video to go with it. He also displays some beautiful vocals in their original, Dignity, though the verses of that song are sung by Romain, who is also a stunning vocalist, and Ren really shines in the bridge. And finally, I have yet to see anyone react to their original, All My Heroes, though it is one of my absolute favorites. It’s fun and upbeat, and has a ton of great vocal treats and shows a great range, as well as some rocking instrumentals (though as far as I know, there’s no video…there’s a video that just shows the album cover on The Big Push channel).
Well now you have to do Wade in the Water and get some more Gorran (the long haired guy) and Ren of course

Rens vibrato is just next level man. And you can tell he feels the music through his whole body, it's mesmerizing.

Next is Crutch - Ren ft Bibi, you just need to keep in mind that the latter chaotic part of the song is sung by Ren, not Bibi as many reactors have mistaken👍
You really should give 'Swan Song' a listen, your appreciation of the harmonies along with the acoustics of the location, etc, its a true gem hiding amongst others.

I second the suggestion in the comment above to move on to Big Push ‘Wade in the water/Trouble so hard’ from this one! Apart from being introduced to another vocalist (Gorran), I think you’ll totally love Ren on bass (Goran actually changes the strap on Ren’s bass guitar mid song and somehow Ren manages to just keep his soulful singing and playing during that intervention) and the overall casual almost rehearsal-like feel of that whole performance (impro, lovely interaction between Ren and Romain during Goran’s singing part, … all done in the moment and making it look super easy). As for something new in the vocal diversity of Ren for you to discover, I can only tell you that I myself was very impressed with the almost gospel-type passion that Ren was able to put into his vocal delivery in that performance (true heartfelt gospel singing imho), so there’s that as well 🩵✨🙂👌
And as long as I’m doing suggestions, I might as well point out that Chinchilla’s live version of ‘Little girl gone’ (called ‘live for requiem’ if I’m not mistaken) is also out here on YT and that it’s freakishly good as well (live version is somewhat stripped down instrumentally, but packs as hard a punch -if not harder - than the studio version. Haunting, dark and full of vocal twists that are simply phenomenal…👍✌️

The song 'latch' covered by Ren and Sam Tompkins busking is really great, and features a bit of head voice by Ren.
For Rens high range, I'd suggest Swan song by the big push. That is the first video they ever did live too and the highest sustained ive heard Ren sing I think.
Yes, Romain usually sings the higher notes in harmonies but Ren shows his versatility and they swapped roles on this occasion.

Do Heretic and Ready For You both are good for hearing his higher register. He sounds very much like Jeff Buckley especially in Heretic. Also do Wade In The Water/Trouble So Hard/Nina Simone mashup with the Big Push and Wade In the Water solo in Berlin. It would be good to do both in one reaction to compare how differently he can approach essentially the same song.

Love your vocal analysis videos!! Can you please do one on Sebastian Bach from Skid Row? Specifically the song "Wasted Time". I've always wanted to figure out how he sings so high & loud in mixed voice yet still remains agile with his vibrato. Such a crazy singer to me lol.

That was a great reaction - I've just realised that I haven't subscribed, which is odd as I've watched and enjoyed your take on Ren/Chinchilla/The Big Push many times (subscribed now!). Have you reacted to Sam Tompkins at all? He and Ren have a few busking/street performances - they are so comfortable together - a good start with them would be Earned it /Mans World / Falling, but there's also one of them improvising on Stevie Wonder. ☮
