Great explanation 👌
Like right to the point and told well👍🏼👍🏼
Just picked up the Garmin striker vivid 7sv for the console.
Can it be conntected to another unit for sharing wakepoints?
The brown and blue wires are used to share data with other Garmin units.
My 7cv should show up in another ten days. Does the power cable come with an in-line fuse holder?
I believe it does, but to be honest with you it's been so long I can't remember for sure, and I'd have to pull the front panel off my boat to look behind it to see.
Yes it does. I just got mine and have used it twice. I actually extended the length of the power cable, the lines seemed very short, unless your connecting to your key switch. I'm rigged to my deep cycle. The transducer cable is roughly 16'-17' long.
Hi Don , very good on shinning some light on these! I purchased a Boat that had both units also and i took em out the other day , both had mounts already mounted on the boat and both had cables also, hooked em both. First off the striker 4 did not have on the selection on the type of transducer that apparently the boat had , i can't remember exactly but Garmin CV 20 seems to stick, but it not show on the 4 , but it still kinda showed graphs on there but you can tell it wasn't doing what it was suppose to do ... But the 7cv did what it was suppose to do right away and just went with that and did its Job but didn't really play around with other features as its new to me but familiar. so what do you think is going on ??? and I would really like to Monkey around with Both units if i could on my free time before work but does a guy need to be in water to get full effect like you did? didn't seem to me you were in water at all..but i did see a Battery in the Beginning , so did you just hooked up the red and black to the battery and tried out ? and as far as Sharing Data between the 2 units, how would you send it with the Blue and Brown wires ? is there a special end ? where do you hook the the wires up to ? do you hook the cable on the XDCR to both units ? just little confused i guess....for not knowing the units its fairly easy to understand but even with the manual it really doesnt explain how the functions works, it just tells you how to enter em .. maybe I'm getting old too, ha.. but Plz shine some light on these , so i can have a better experience.. thanks a great videos you guys do ,, Love it !!
I never put the two units together to share information, so I can't help there. When setting for the transducer the CV20 was the proper setting for the Striker 7. This spring I sold the boat the Striker & was on, so I don't have that unit anymore. I purchased a Garmin Echomap for my new boat, and it runs pretty much the same as the Striker 7. You can run the finder without putting it in the water, just set the unit on simulation mode and it will show you how the unit looks.
HI again. Thanks for the response. I did have the S7 on CV20 but it does not show that option on the Striker 4 ? So now what ? And as far a sharing data , I may just have to get a hold of Garmin. I just can't seem to find the answer on how 4 n 7 share info and how. But ya Striker 4 foes not have the option.
Everyone keeps saying the same thing , just hook the the Blue n Brown wire to share info . But hook em up on what , where , how ? Ya know
It might be you hook the blue and brown from the 7 to the blue and brown of the 4. Haven't done it myself so can't be sure, but I'd think the two finders would have to be hooked together to share.
Why does mine on the water temp constantly shows 157.3 Fahrenheit all the time?
I have no idea, sorry I can't help you.
does this work with micro sd card from Navionics ?
When I did that video 3 years ago it did not, but I can't say about today's Garmin.
how to set the brightness on screen
I've never adjusted the brightness of the screen, and my boat is at the lake so I can't run out to take a look at it to see how it's done. Sorry
Good video. How do you like the 7CV so far?
I really like it. Having a little interference problem with the trolling motor since they both run on the same battery. It doesn't bother me much so I haven't adjusted the interference settings. The other day I had Bob drop a lure in the water by the transducer and you could watch it go down and then back up.
My clear view doesn’t show anything on mine
Hello I have a question I got my garmin striker 7cv and when I turn the simulator on it shows that I’m in 45 foot of water but I’m only in 4 foot of water clarity of the screens are awesome.2nd thing is when I turn off the simulator it shows the right depth but the clarity of the screens are not as clear as it being on,also when on no coordinates when off cordinates shows any help would be appreciated thanks.
I never had the finder on simulator while on the water, but I'd think if you're on simulator mode it wouldn't matter how deep the water was since it wouldn't record that. As far as screen clarity, I can't say I saw any difference one way or the other. Wish I could be more help.
Thank you
sharing data??????
If you have two Garmin finders, you can connect them and they can share waypoints with each other. I have the Garmin 7 on my boat, and a Garmin 4 on my little 2 man boat. If I mark waypoints while out with the 2 man boat, I can later share those with the finder on my big boat.
