It is not correct to install the laser on the moving base except next to the midpoint, otherwise the point will move. It is better if the laser is installed in the base, the point will be fixed all the time
What is the point in installing a laser if this drill stand is not able to guarantee the accuracy of the drilled holes. Linear bearings have a significant backlash and are a weak point in such designs.

Oh no, you should have aligned laser to bottom of plate, not top
Why aligned on top laser, this laser use for guide drill, so from top on bottom.
I can drill more faster and precision
