Ladies and Gentlemen....David Phelps. I've been a professional musician for over 35 years and this is hands down the greatest male tenor I've ever heard. His renditions of O Holy Night and The Lords Prayer are nothing short of master classes on vocal performance!

I am a 63-year old tenor with church, choral experiences and soloist. Until 2008 -- I thought of only the operatic singers as great tenors -- but when David Phelps was introduced as the new tenor for the Gaithers -- my mind has been changed FOREVER! He is the greatest tenor to ever sing!! God-like voice, angelic tones and he sings each song with feeling, passion and belief in each of its words! Thank you God for David Phelps!!!
So does his daughter! She is an amazing soprano, no doubt trained by David! Talent runs in the Phelps family! His son plays guitar and accompanies him sometimes too. They are all incredible!

I am 70 and come from a long generational family of musicians and never ...in all of my life have I heard any singer as amazing as David. Ever. To me, he is the best in all the world. Honestly, to God be the glory!

Soon to be 54 in a few weeks. I live alone with Christ. I have been alone for some years now. I lost my youngest daughter at 20 to a very bad car wreck and my other children need to find our Savior fortheir sake. I have not seen them three in over two years. It's going on four years singer the lost of their baby sister. So when I say I'm all alone only through Christ that's no lie. I feel he's all I've got and it's hard but with the ANGELS singing and praising ourChrist it's getting me through. Bless each and everyone. Happy holidays and happy healthy New year.

It is an anointing of God on David to sing and draw attention to God not man. I think David understands this and would prefer that we give God the glory.

@@emilywall1611 I think his technique comes from his live of music and our Lord. It's hard to copy. Believe me I've sang for 57 years and have the technique down, but his passion is hard to copy. Keep on listening to him.

Add to those factors, his parents who recognized his gift and started him on his way by not holding him back as an adolescent AND his wife Lorie for supporting and encouraging him over the years. the trick is to find a good teacher, and there are MANY not good ones who pretend. I found an excellent one. That training makes the difference.

For the record, this song is all about FEELING. We as humans can have feelings...something like "I have nothing if I don't have you" when it comes to our most cherished relationships. It's clearly a love song and a beautiful one at that. This is an absolutely magnificent example of David spreading his musical wings and showing us where he can soar vocally. I love it 🌹🥰
Im totally glad i got to see him live, I was front row! AND i got to take a picture with him. Talk about stage presence, I was so emotional lol everything about this dude was majestic!( im 26 ntw) Seeing him live was a life changing experience because he really sounded like a world famous top tier singer period!
