I'm 68 but when I was 14 I got stopped in the country driving to the store on a dirt road coming to the highway. The policeman looked at me and said, How old are you? I said 14. He said, "Do you have a license?" I was thinking, Idiot no 14 year old has a license but instead I said, "No sir my mom is sick so I'm coming to the store to get her some medicine." He looked at me and said, "well get the medicine and get back home be safe and don't drive any more." LOL

I was 10 when I started driving out in the country. I would go pick up the maid and take her home for my grandparents. I'm a few years younger than you but just as in your story the deputy sherrif pretty much knew kids that grew up on farms drove the county roads close to home doing little errands for their families. Now I didn't drive into town or more than three or four miles from home. I also drove a tractor discing the fields and bush-hogging the pasture and ditches. Kids in the country were given a lot of responsibility when they were young, a lot more than the kids in town got for sure.

@@tamugrad2007 Probably still is, for farm kids. In Oklahoma I got a restricted driver license at 14 after first passing a farm safety course held by the county extension office. It allowed me to drive farm vehicles, cars and trucks on county maintained roads.

Could have been the local jail was refusing to take females. Sometimes they don’t have room and they have to be carried to a different jail, which requires special approval and lots more paperwork. Often in that case they let them go with a ticket because of how much the host county charges daily to house the inmate. They save that for bigger fish.

I don't know if I'm the only one looking at it this way. I know possession of marijuana is against the law, but man, all that time detaining these two young women in possession of a substance that makes you feel good could have been better spent catching real dangerous criminals. Getting arrested and going to jail is enormously traumatic and life-disrupting, lasting sometimes the rest of your life, for what really? A plant, if smoked, makes the user feel drowsy and light-headed, sometimes a warm feeling washing over their body, not unlike taking a nice hot shower. I'm writing before I view the end, and I cheered. Thank you, officer, for using discretion. Arresting them could have put their life in a downhill projection, by not arresting them, you are going to force them to think twice. It is so rare what you did. There needs to be more officers like you, and those girls NEED TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER, STRAIGHT IN OUT AND NOT BRAKE THE LAW. I know that officer is going to be ridiculed by people including his peers, but if you happen to read this officer, you did the right thing, sir. Thank you. THEY COULD HAVE BEEN EASILY ARRESTED ON ANY ONE OF THOSE CHARGES I CAN'T FREAKING BELIEVE THOSE GIRLS NOT FREAKING ONCE TOLD THAT OFFICER THANK YOU. They should have been kissing his dam boots.

One of the most kindest and honest Troopers around. He could have totally stroked them both to post bond and towed the vehicle. Sometime when you treat an officer nice, kindness with reciprocate x10. Now with on body warn video's they have to stick to the law. Because back in the day, with a small amount of weed it would have been deposed of and destroyed by the suspect right there on the side of the road and called it a Warning. Great job Trooper Lawson.

Of course that's the reason she got out of the car so fast. What a great officer that was so respectful and decent. What I don't like is that these real law breakers got let off with nothing but some tickets. That was enough dope to get charged with intent to distribute and enough speed to get felony reckless. Also he could have gotten her for DUI with all the weed but never even tested her but probably may lose that one.
Here's the part I get upset by. If you do nothing to all the thugs, criminals dope dealers and driving at106 MPH endangering everyone, while smoking dope, that's complete and total disrespect for all of us descent, law abiding, working suckers that get to pay for all this. We are responsible citizens and we never get a break and these two liars do. Of course she not only KNEW it was in the glove box, but she PUT it there and now lies like any thug. We good citizens don't lie and still can't get a break and these two get off with a grin and have a nice day.

First of all intent is if its bagged up and ready to sell! That was about an ounce! Which In most states is legal to possess with only a fine if caught! You sound really mad calling them thugs over some weed and because of them speeding like you have never went over the speed limit in your life! He would of known if she was smoking riding down the road there is a different smell from weed in a bag and burning/burnt weed! Jus because someone speeds and has weed doesn’t mean they don’t get up everyday and bust their ass at work paying taxes just like you! I use to smoke weed every single day and I have definitely caught myself speeding before! I work a good ass job I bust my ass every day! Moral of the story you can’t judge someone by a 30 minute video you see on UA-cam you don’t know what tf they do! You don’t know if they pay taxes or not! So calling them thugs because they were speeding and had some weed on them is alittle much! At the end of day they still have to go to court and the judge has the final say! You will never know the outcome of their punishment! You need to find out what a “thug” is before you go around just calling random people thugs! Sounds pretty racist to me!
