I have to say hearing Fred Krueger say Tinas name in the alley at the beginning of the movie and him saying " This is God" is still the most creepiest thing ive ever heard in a movie.
What most people don't realize that those pebbles that are thrown at Tina's window - aren't stones. They are TEETH!" Makes the scene so much scarier when you notice that.
One thing I didn’t know was the missing blade. I knew about it being found at Glenn’s but didn’t know you could see it missing during freddy and Nancy’s final encounter. Keep these going, they’re awesome!
Great new series! Looking forward to the rest of the Elm St films. Not a huge fan of everything after the first, but I love behind the scenes stuff! Good on ya!
You could have also included the original inspiration for the film. As I heard it, Wes Craven read an article.... A teenage boy had a dream so terrifying that he was afraid to go back to sleep. He did everything he could to stay awake and did so for an entire week. When he finally did fall asleep, his worried parents were relieved, until the next morning when they found him dead in his bed. He had died during the night in his sleep. And thus the seed for the creation of Freddy was planted.
A nice little extra note to add about the subplot of the finger missing off the hero glove, the one you see being held up in front of John Saxon, is actually the same finger they used for the build scene, it is also where they deliberately cut the blade on the index for the hero glove, but since they didn't use it, they reattached the blade and then put it back onto the armature
Love the format of this! And I love that it's about my favourite horror film of all time. The whistle-stop recap was ace, sprinkled with excellent behind the scenes info (I never knew that about his missing finger blade) and your humour makes me lol out loud - can't wait for more!
Actually the MPAA cut footage of Tina splashing on the bed exists..the only way to view this is on the Fox version VHS( over here in Britain) all other formats feature the R rated cut
Great video of behind the scenes. I have seen some of the behind the scenes if everyone that likes horror movies from Wes Craven and the hidden facts on how they worked. There were just a few I didn't know about which when I watch next time I'll have to watch closely with all the new scenes to catch some of the bloopers that made it on camera without us knowing without paying attention the 1st time when watching it.
Awesome video - I’ve watched docos on the film before and quite a bit of info and footage is new to me! Your random humour and little names for things works really well (and not cringey like it could) - my fav was “Mr Crispy” 😂. Also, as a fellow Aussie it’s nice to see some quality content from a local UA-camr 😊. Look forward to more from the series!
I was really impressed with your video, I thought I knew everything there was to know about the first nightmare, from seeing all the special features from the re-release. It was really cool seeing you talk about the sub plot with the coroner finding the blade from Glen's death.
I would love to see a business like scream factory release a 4K version of the film that included restorations of the deleted and unused scenes. That would absolutely be amazing if we could see a new cut 4 years later. Something that would really bring back the fans and people would chatter up about NOES all over again.
People talk so much sh*t about the blow up doll at the end, but fact is I think it works. It’s a dream. Things often move unnaturally or change somehow, fundamentally, in order to do certain things in dreams. It’s a far more dreamlike image than anything CGI could pull off.
Love the Freddy content. Keep it coming. I read somewhere that the rocks being thrown at Tina’s window are supposed to be (kids) teeth. What happened with the doco NIGHTMARES IN THE MAKEUP CHAIR? How can we see it? ✌️🖤🤘
If I had to guess, it's from Tim Richter. Technically, the film hat is brown ( can see the inside when the prop was signed), not gray, but looks gray from powder added. My part 1 hat is also gray, from when it was thought to be gray. Mine is from Tim Richter and looks pretty identical to Chris's, but he may have done his own or had another source. I highly recommend Tim, though, for any Freddy hat.
😮✌️😎 Dude,..You make an Excellent Freddy!! .. Reboot Should have someone like you with accent too. 🎥 Please say some lines in a Scary Voice like your version of Freddy. That would be Awesome!! All your Videos are Great!! 🌟🍀🌞⚜️💕
06:25....A scene was deemed "To scary". 🤬🤬🤬🤬 Maybe we would have had a better/scarier movie if the people chosen for the test screening weren't little (blank).
Charles Fleischer was the voice of Roger Rabbit in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and Terry - old man who wants to save the clock tower in 2015 and the mechanic in 1955 in "Back To The Future II"
Hate to say it, but it was much scarier when there wasn't any info about anything about a movie. You kind of had to be there in the new and oblivious to experience the horror. Kids aren't scared of anything anymore because they have every inch of info nowadays that it's just a comedy now. Movies are done now.
Nightmare 1 is the best horror film ever made in my opinion, absolutely legendary
5:20 I never noticed until now how Freddys glove is on his left hand in this one shot
I have to say hearing Fred Krueger say Tinas name in the alley at the beginning of the movie and him saying " This is God" is still the most creepiest thing ive ever heard in a movie.
The footage of Freddy dragging Tina up the wall is really creepy. I wish they would release it in another cut.
No pun intended
@@KLEARSKITHEKREEPER right 😂
That blooper with Robert falling out the bush though 🤣🤣
What most people don't realize that those pebbles that are thrown at Tina's window - aren't stones. They are TEETH!" Makes the scene so much scarier when you notice that.
I really liked David Miller’s Freddy makeup in this first movie, with the layered “burned flesh” appliances moving together. Looked really nice.
One thing I didn’t know was the missing blade. I knew about it being found at Glenn’s but didn’t know you could see it missing during freddy and Nancy’s final encounter. Keep these going, they’re awesome!
They weren’t rocks being thrown at Tina’s window, they were human teeth, you can see it on the blu ray.. wkd video !!!:)
This is a great making of a nightmare on elm Street is one of the very best horror movies ever 😊❤
Jesus fuck! I found your channel again! thank God! My original channel of 12 years got hacked....this is awesome! Gracias Chris

Great video with a lot of facts I didn’t know about

Scary Terry ??? Lol
Most excellent! Great recap of the film and awesome behind-the-scenes trivia!
Another piece of trivia, he was only ever called Fred Krueger in the first movie. He wasn’t initially called Freddy

What a fun, interesting video. Can't wait to see more in this series!
Your freddy jumper is sick dude. I want one.
My favorite horror movie fo all-time.

Nice research dude..i love the Nightmare saga...yeah ..no palm trees here in Ohio.lmao
Nightmare on Elm Street is a classic horror movie.

First episode dedicated to Freddy?
I'm one of your children now. Subscribed and liked.
Ah!!! Is the hat GRAY or BROWN?!?! Chris help a honky put!
*out
Awesome! You should keep doing these and always dress in a costume from the movie. I can't wait for Barbie Behind the Reel.😃
Man.. Metallica was pretty spot on when they were in the same kind of box at 5:58 talking bout "the memory remains"
Love the Freddy content. Keep it coming.
I read somewhere that the rocks being thrown at Tina’s window are supposed to be (kids) teeth.

✌️🖤🤘
Could you please tell me where you bought your hat?

Great video but you forgot to mention Freddy's voice changing throughout the first film which always confused me a bit
No the knives came from Wes’s cat stretching his claws out
Let's gooo
Ive always assumed that the glove blades are sharp on both sides bc theyre knives
What's with not mentioning Nick Corri by name?
06:25....A scene was deemed "To scary". 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Maybe we would have had a better/scarier movie if the people chosen for the test screening weren't little (blank).
Amanda was 24? Wow! She looks really young in this to me. No older than 18
She was playing a 15 yr
Paul Bailey needs to be next fred krueger!!!! Hands down
The ONLY good thing about Part 2 is the school bus scene at the beginning. I always skip that one when watching them
I can't be the only person who thinks Freddy Krueger looks a bit like Popeye, right?
WHAT???? Lol .
OK u have convince me..I'm gunna got wat h my Freddie boxset..l8rz
I much preferred Roberts voice without the heavy modulation. Some echoing would have been fine but the deep voice was so dumb
Dr Roger rabbit???
Charles Fleischer was the voice of Roger Rabbit in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and Terry - old man who wants to save the clock tower in 2015 and the mechanic in 1955 in "Back To The Future II"
