Much like that Three Steps Ahead he didn't want to COPY his mistake.
This is literally every game for me now. Opponent goes Off to the Races, I barely survive with single digit HP to turn 4, manage to stabilize, run him out of cards, think okay now I can rebuild.. And they just top deck gas for five turns in a row while I top deck literally 5 lands. 🎉

I've been rocking a deck like this for a week or so. It's the only one I've had consistent success with(38-23 with it as of this video). You have some cards in here I hadn't thought to use. Excited to try them out!
Fastest deck, slowest players, gotta love it
It's more fun to drive a slow car fast.
It's deliberate to try to get a cheap win when people run out of patience.

If they're losing, sure. But azorius is clearly the slowest lol
At 16:02 they could have used Gix's Command to put the +1/+1 on your Slasher and use the 4th mode to force you to sacrifice it - it won't come back because Slasher doesn't care about what type of counter it has when it dies. If they did this before combat they could freely attack (at least with Preacher, although trading Tinybones for the Bat is probably good enough).

I run a Dimir version of the combo. I use mocking jay to copy Slasher. The bird counter spell and bounce cards to get through. Sometimes I don’t even have the combo and if slasher sticks folks scoop.
Do you use the 1 blue instant that says target creature can't be blocked this turn? Seems decent with slasher
This deck (I’ve been playing it since day 1) has brought me back to MtG. Debating getting it in paper. Also 6:30 you had to have known they had flash on that spell bro lmao. They were getting stopped by the client on their turn multiple times with that card in hand
Yeah I've been playing a midrange version of this deck. The absolute best feeling is when you're close to death, your opponent needs 1 half ok draw and you're done, and they just accept the combo death. Lots of people just don't seem to understand it, despite it being pretty simple
Should this deck run escape tunnel? Or would it make playing Bloodletter less consistent?

the first deck i made this set is similar to this, using the unholy annex, bloodletter, slasher, cant believe it slipped under the radar still havent seen anyone playing it, now seen some creators playing with it, one of my favourite cards from the set, i feel its better than phyrexian arena
bailed on slasher, but annex and bloodletter have felt good
black feeding on red leyline and auras may have possibly influenced my standard ladder experience

The Manifest Dread deck in the last game is scary to go up against. Had an opponent who had two face down cards. I destroyed one which turned out to be a land. The other they used Splash Portal to cheat in a Portal to Phyrexia 😅

I personally didn't have much luck with this deck but I've been experimenting with Meathook Massacre II in another, similar, deck and I think that might be an underrated card from this set. I don't even use it for the XX component, I just use it to make a player have to pay 3 life for give me their creature. It's pretty powerful.
eraser head cgb is really telling of how this meta feels to play against
Hey CGB, loved the video! I know you hate domain, but there is a new build that has the new overlords (green and white) that is way more fun to play with DU Zur, turning them into creatures way early with a bunch of keyword and making aggro players miserable. I hope you can give it a try!

I feel that in the match that ended at 21:38 if you played the slayer instead of Liliana you would have won that one. They would have had to block with the bat or lose 1/2 their life and you could have played either Lily or Alcy on the following turn when you attacked. Forcing them to block and when they would have been able to drop something you could lily them and hit them for the ko.

5 drop sorcery that's dead unless you have a 4 drop creature alive on board. I've played it on release and with slasher and it just feels bad.

People who play BO3, does the existence of Leyline of the Void just invalidate reanimator decks? I don't play that format, but it seems like such a powerful card to keep in the sideboard to just wreck a whole a deck.

I'm very familiar with that deck. It was what everyone wanting to counter mono Red ran. When they saw me running Green/White, they were not having a good time overall. Certainly helped me get to Mythic amidst those two types being the dominant ones.

@@honestabe411 lol I refuse to play lands that could mess up my tempo. Triple and double black costs in the deck mean you can't afford to have more than 1 colorless source imo.

It's so sad, literally every deck is like this now. You can't just play some fun Janky creature deck or whatever, it has to be able to go total ham and combo out on 2-3. This is why nobody plays historic.

If I play this deck... I never see graveyard synergy... If I play graveyard synergy I run into this deck. If I do run into graveyard synergy.. . I don't have leyline in starting hand.

Game 1 really exemplifies my idea of the perfect game of magic. Both CGB and his opponent got to do their thing, both had just enough interaction to take care of problem pieces without it being a case of oops all removal feels bad, both were within grasp of victory, and at the end of the day it was a top deck sprint to the finish that enabled the win.

why do these decks not run Rush of Dread as well to increase the chances of the combo?

@@honestabe411 but it gets around blockers. I played this exact list cutting two leyline for two rushes and I have had success and the games where rush has won was a game that the board was clogged.
