  • Today we are baling some more second crop alfalfa hay! We have 13 acres to bale today and it won’t all fit on our wagons. So we need to unload while the baler is still bailing. Let us know what you think of our salt trick and the way we stack/store hay. Thank you all for watching. Enjoy the video!

Boy watching you guys baling hay takes me back to when I grew up we raised beef cattle and watching you folks stacking bales in the barn and spreading the salt just like we did it was hot at times but I still miss the work good memories.
Thanks folks for sharing your daily and seasonal work it's great to watch, most people don't have a clue what's involved daily on the Farm!

Being retired from the farm I miss doing alot of things on the farm .Putting hay bales up next to a hot tin roof is NOT one of them. Keep these great videos coming!! Thanks😊

I grew up in a family of nondrinking protestants. After dad sold the farm, I hired on at a farm run by Bavarian Catholics. Being the low man on the totem pole, I got that job you mentioned of stacking hay under a hot tin roof. However, I got to enjoy an ice cold beer that they rewarded me with after every load. My family would have frowned, but that ice cold beer made the sweat and misery worthwhile. 🤫🥵🥴

I am for one that misses doing hay I love it and is some of best exercise you can ever get a lot of these young people these days it would do them good to spend the summer in a hayfield to teach them and work ethic

I think the payoff is the process of doing the work as a family and keeping the operation going so you are able to do it all over again next year.

What a great view of your house from your hayloft! I was thinking how hot it must be up next to that roof, however. I remember your Grandpa Wisi telling of a time when he first started farming and he had put up hay just a tad too wet and he found ashes in the haymow when he was throwing down hay that winter. God was sure watching over him and his family then. I am so glad to see that you are taking extra special care to ensure the hay cures properly and safely.
