this is the definition of pure heaviness/evil metal, no one even comes close. Hoglans drumming is so sick, it should have a PMRC sticker just for its insane skill level
I'd say 90s Suffocation is pretty close in terms of overall heaviness and intensity.
After only recently discovering them I've listened to all of their albums so far, except We Have Arrived (which I'll get to), but honestly underrated doe snot even describe it. There's no way to water it down Dark Angel are simply one of the best thrash metal bands that have existed.

@Metalhead121396 They would probably be, if Rinehart hadn't messed up his vocal chords in an accident. Can still hear Hoglan's drum-work, though, with Strapping Young Lad.
@sethshazam Like I said, I have to wonder if it wasn't intentional, to give it more of a thunder effect. I like it, no matter what.

@GillesGerais you could just enjoy the music for the music's sake. that's like saying you hate a certain band for the tuning they use, it's just silly. music is music. whether a band decides to have good production or not is up to them, but you shouldn't limit musical merit based on such arbitrary qualities.
