This video has been published for a global audience, which is why we have blurred out Wrighty's goals.
What do you make of the interview? ❤
Petty decision to censor the goals. You actually ruined a large portion of the interview. He's talking through his finishes and we can't enjoy them. Silly.
@@1980redkremlin they have a valid reason and you still complain.. Blame the premier league not sky
I would've liked a discussion about Ian Wright's goal finishing style vs Thierry Henry's. Ian was much raw, Thierry was perhaps more graceful?
You've lost the plot with the censorship! Don't care if it's for global or local, just be damn sensible. What do you achieve?
@@SethGillIt isn't their choice, they cant get the licensing to allow it.
I love how honest wrighty is man he’s a national treasure you can tell he’s a sound geeza
Got to love Ian Wright....proper London boy
Doesn’t get enough recognition - role model as a human
He’s an OBE
He’s national treasure already
I genuinely love that man. I think he transcends football rivalries and any tribalism. A superb human who wears his heart on his sleeve. We all see ourselves in Ian Wright celebrating England goals. A truly inspiring man and ambassador for the game.
He struggled for England because he wanted to do so well, that emotional intensity which made him so great would get the better of him. His documentary about the era before Wenger was such emotional piece. Loves arsenal and loved back in equal measure. 🧨⚽️er
@@TheJoker-um9tp Also injuries at the wrong time
To be fair, Ian Wright is pretty much as universally loved as one could get.
I'm a spurs fan, but no one who loves football can dislike Ian Wright. What a lovely guy, so much passion and probably the most likeable player from that era
i wish i was around to watch ian wright, such a lovely guy
Changed my life for the better this man. Gave a young black man a direction growing up.
Yup. And he always had time to speak to the local people as if he knew them. Love the guy.
Ok so what have you made of your life then
@@WaseemKhan-sp4ylchill out babe.
@@WaseemKhan-sp4yl what do you mean by this comment
Hope he sees this. Everyone's favourite uncle
"universally loved" sums it right up... Doesnt matter your football allegiance Ian Wright is a legendary fella! Could listen to him all day
Carra is spot on about Wrighty being a hero to a generation of Arsenal fans during a period where we were bang average. Absolute legend!!!
And to us at Palace, broke our hearts when you signed him for a song, even more so when we signed Marco Gabbiadini as his replacement 😢. Love wrighty
Wrighty is a legend and true ambassador for football. Top man.
22:41 Can you imagine the social media uproar today if this were to happen, an English player winning the Golden boot and not being picked for the squad? Unbelievable.
Crazy that the golden boot winner was still 4th choice ...some of the all time great strikers found them selves struggling for a place in the squad never mind team
@@LPManicwas there that much? 4 of the starting 11 was black, and Graham Taylor became famous by giving opportunities to 2 young black footballers in particular. Wrighty hadn't been in the top division that long, and they had 2 established players for the number 9 position.
@@LPManic did people know that much about Ian Wright at that point in time? He'd only just left Palace. And of course he should've gone to several tournaments, but he was emotional. And he could have issues with managers, as we saw with Bruce Rioch.
I'm not sure what group of Shearers you're referring to, what's that??
No there wouldn't! If Kane didn't get golden boot he would still go. There was better players ahead of Wright
this guy is a complete legend. i can listen to him all day. Nuff love Wrighty. You are a proper inspiration
Interview wise this is EPIC.
Wrighty had to really take the hard route and a route where many end up giving up that dream, but the right people spotted his qualities at the right time.
The key was letting him keep some of his raw elements, made sure he studied what others were doing to add bits to his game, then fine tune his team play.
ENGLAND coaches failed by not really taking advantage of the skillset Wrighty had to offer, because his repertoire of finishes and technical abilities were criminally under appreciated.
That era of strikers were super strong with high scorers, but no one really had that flair.
WHAT A LEGEND AND PERSONALITY 👑
He wasn't as good as the players chosen before him and he got lots of chances for England
Embodiment of just a good man. Humble yet confifdent, cheeky and polite, style and humility. Cheers Wrighty for sharing your life
Lfc fan here. But I could listen to wrighty all day long. Admiration for this man ❤
Probably the most likeable and genuine dude on Sky sports
Carragher is massively underrated as an interviewer. He really connects with his guests and opens them up
Every Arsenal fan's favourite player if you were a kid in the early 90s. Many hours spent in the park scoring goals as Wrighty and many more watching the teletext scores cycle round praying to see this man's name come up and win us the game. Absolute legend on & off the pitch!
302. If you know you know.
Liverpool fan here. ..,as a kid in the mid 90's.. i would dread playing against Arsenal with Wrighty in thier team.., what a player he was...and a top man as well...legend.
This man is why I support Arsenal ❤
Love this guy! Legend
This is the man who made me to fall in love with Arsenal FC. Legend with a passion for the game
Mr Wright Is an idol, a roll model, an inspiration, a wizard footballer, and a sweet great human being. What a pleasure is to hear him every week. Great interview! :)
Couldn’t ask for a better club ambassador than Ian Wright.
Wrighty deserves more than 30 minutes, could listen to him and his stories forever....
I'm an Irish Liverpool fan. This the best interview by a baller I've ever seen. Inspirational.
This man made me fall in love with premier league football and got me following Arsenal. What a legend.
He's so honest man.
Wrighty made me proud to come from south east London…even comparing him to players today he was incredible 👑
24:39 The documentary Jamie Carragher is talking about here is called "an impossible job" its on youtube as "Do I Not Like That .... The Final Chapter - Graham Taylor The Impossible Job - England - Documentary" Do give it a watch it is excellent. Uncle Ian is in it.
Thanks Bud!
I could listen to him talk all day long. The memory he has is incredible. I can’t remember what I did last week. Unbelievable player even better human being.
He's all heart and that why he's so loved and always will be. Go on Wrighty!! ❤️❤️🙏
He grew up with my youth football coach - he rarely ever mentioned him, but he carried the same aggression, intensity and passion that really rubbed off on all of us, and a few of my teammates went on to be pro.
When he did speak about him he had nothing but good things to say.
Hard to believe Wrighty is 60
There's a generation of football fans out there that will never know just how good Wrighty was. You can watch all the goal compilations in the world and it won't tell the full story.
My favourite player ever that didn't play for my club.
For sure Ian Wright is a HOF in premier league history
501 GA, 239 Goal
💯
My first ever sporting hero. He made me fall in love with Arsenal and when I went to my first Highbury match when I was 10 years old he scored and celebrated right in front of me giving me one of the best days and memories of my life. A football legend. Ian Wright Wright Wright!!!!
My dad played against Wrighty in Sunday league back in the day. The team my dad was playing for was 2-0 up with 5 or 6 minute’s left to go. Wrighty got subbed on and scored a hat-trick before the 90 was up. My dad said you could instantly see the talent he had as soon as he stepped foot on to the pitch!
Im a Liverpool fan. One of the reasons i became one was my Dad getting me and my brother a Goals Galore tape from the 89-90 season. However I remeber Ian Wrights name from those videos. As ive gotten older and footy has become bigger in the states (im from NYC), and ive seen more and more of Ian, he is without a doubt one of my favorite celebrities. Wears his heart on his sleeve (like i do), and isnt afraid to show people who he is. Owns up to his past mistakes, and is all about love and positivity. The fact that he was a late bloomer gives hope to people like me that is truly is never too late
Two players England missed a trick on
Ian Wright & our Robbie Fowler
It saddens me that this Arsenal legend does not have a statue outside of the Emirates.
Yeah that does need to happen
And Sir Lord Bendtner
@@gunnerglory😂😂
Wrighty what a great guy. Worked hard for his shot and made it happen. Good on you, inspirational character
National treasure, what a man ❤
Really enjoyed watching this last night. Love Ian Wright.
Can’t believe Sky only just got him on Monday Night Football. Wright is such a great character, funny & very likeable man, I’ve always admired him. A hero of mines & such a badass striker
What a man. How does he remember every name? Superb
Legend. Played because of his genuine love of the game.
If you love football you love Wrighty.
For sure I didn't know that he's loved all around the world...but I think am the no.1 fan of this guy.....I am always notified whenever he has anything to say on you tube....so thanks Ian muuuuuuuuuuuch love legend
I am not an Arsenal fan,but I love this man.Absolutely brilliant man!
It is amazing to hear the narration from Ian Wright with his attention to detail from his memories and remembering the full names of the people he had encountered along his footballing journey👍
True legend and what a class act gentleman.... A great example for many...😍
I can listen to Wright all day love him him cried when he talked about his teacher
115 charges very nicely said IAN WRIGHT
Ian Wright Wright Wright - Legend
Wrighty's goals definitely carried us in those seasons when we reached domestic and European finals from 92/93 to 94/95. And in the barren seasons he still carried us with his goals. Then he won his title medal in 98. I wished we kept him for another season when we fell short in 99. Absolute legend and what a bargain for £2.5M. We all still love Wrighty at the Arsenal ⚽️
This man is the reason I love arsenal watching him as a kid amazed me, even my first shirt was an Ian wright one ❤
Great coach Steve Coppell 👍👍, wise words and great talent spotter. Terrific player as well. No wonder Ian holds him high in esteem, great times for Palace as well. THAT cup final was awesome and I'm a Liverpool fan!! from 9-0 to 4-3 defeat in the semi final
Love this man so honest.
I love you so much Wrighty! You look like my late brother. Love you because you are an Arsenal legend. Love you the most because you are a very decent man. Hearing your story brings so many tears in my eyes because it explains why you behave d the way you did on the pitch. God bless you always 🙏🏾
Thank you for uploading this❤
Growing up, telly on in the background....Ian Wright always scoring...
Great segment. Fantastic guest.
Welldone Jamie for keeping it all on him
I'm a Spurs fan and even I love Wrighty. Inspiration to everyone.
Ian Wright the legend. Love the guy. As every supporter should. Ynwa
I absolutely love this man. Made trips to Highbury special. Legend.
An absolute legend…and an even better person. Love wrighty
Should have been in the England team so much more. Would have been a legend at any club, he just loved the game had an amazing drive. Would have loved him at United.
Ian Wright.......Top fella!
How could you not love wrighty man best england personality going ❤
Liverpool fan here and wrighty is a legend and iconic striker of 90s PL. seems like an even nicer person
Thanks for uploading this in full.
The way he describes his goals is fantastic
Ian’s energy is infectious, radiates positivity and likability, such an icon of the English game. He never played for Everton, but I wish he had. 😂
I could listen to Wrighty for hours. ❤
a honest, genuine man. I wish today's footballers could be like him!!
Absolute LEGEND!!!
Massive respect to Wrighty
As a Palace fan, this guy was a hero to the kids growing up and still my all time favourite Palace player.
Absolute Legend and a top bloke
Absolutely hate arsenal with a passion but genuinely love Ian Wright top bloke

Ian Wright Wright WRIGHT!!! Still my favorite Arsenal player, LOVES you Wrighty ❤🤍❤🤍
Liverpool fan here Ian Wright is one of my favourite PL players ever. True south London legend!
Ian Wright what an absolute gem of a bloke 💎
This guy is much more than an Arsenal legend, and the world could do with a lot more people like Wrighty in it. COYG
What a player, what a legend, what a man! Kudos Wrighty, YOU MADE IT! ❤😉 COYG
In Manchester, pre-match in1992. I met Ian in the morning breakfast restaurant, I was a waiter taking orders. I asked him what he would like, he refused, he told me; "it's ok he I'll serve himself" - I could see he wasn't comfortable doing this. I told him'' if it's good enough for everybody else, it's good enough for you"!! he laughed and gave me his order!! I thought, what a lovely fella🌟
Welling up watching this. I love this man!
One the best pundits in world football, definitely my favorite.
he speaks so well,
Great player and such a genuine positive nive guy. My favourite player made me an Arsenal fan, brilliant striker and personality. Top 5 pl striker, one of the few who could score any type of goal right & left foot, headed goaks, chips, lobs, could go round players then score. Deserved more England caps.
Absolutely love Ian Wright, such a class act he loves it hahaha
This is so beautiful. Love you Ian
Glad I had the pleasure of watching Ian Wright playing football for arsenal when I was a kid. Still baffling how this man, legend, hero ICON doesn't have his own statue at the Emirates.
Arsenal legend he was 28 when he joined in 1991 and scored 186 goals in 8 seasons very underrated player in my opinion he was as good as robbie fowler in natural finishing he could score all types of goals he was the best for chipping goals 💯 Wrighty he was the reason I started supporting Arsenal at 8 years old i loved him Bergkamp is my football hero and always will be but Wrighty is a legend thank you Ian Arsenal is my life I love the club I’m from Swansea and still living here Arsenal are going to dominate in the next few seasons COYG ❤ Ian is a lovely fella aswell always happy and funny ❤
Pure legend ❤
The most underrated British football of all time proper legend
Wrighty you’re a legend!!! 🙏🏿✊🏿❤🔴⚪️
Ian Wright Wright Wright. He used to be my hero as a kid and glad my old man took me to all the games back in the Highbury days as a boy. Glad I saw him break Cliff Bastins goal scoring record.
He was like one of the fans living the dream playing for Arsenal
What a player! What a guy!!
I saw Ian’s debut at Palace and he’s been my hero ever since. Top top top man
I saw him a few months ago outside a golf driving range and got the chance to meet him. I’ll never forget that.
An absolute hero ❤️
Love watching Wrighty on any podcast, talk show, video, much love from the USA
One of the greatest forwards I’ve ever seen. Truly two-footed. Breathtaking finisher, who could score every type of goal, and did.
Well done, Wrighty.
What a player.
Absolute Legend. Ian Wright Wright Wright.
My favorite pundit, he is always fair in his assessments of the game unlike the other pundits who are ridiculously biased to their former teams.
