This was a weekly event. The song grew from a standard cover song into this dramatic presentation that included the quiet singalong and dramatic conclusion. It was a treasure to be in the room when Terry was on stage.
To all our US friends. you really don't know how deep this song is buried into the "psyche" of all true English folk who were around in the 60's. Think " Freebird" and you are starting to get close.
Thanj you so much for this! Does anyone know how to find his performance of A Whiter Shade of Pale at the Joint with this same band around the same time? The video that was once on youtube has been removed and I am dying to see it again - it was just amazing to watch as well as listen.
I'm green with envy toward everyone who was lucky enough to be there that night to listen to this absolute legend perform.

These shows were like religion to the groups of regulars who showed up. Was honored to go to this temple...

thank you for inspiring me to know i had to sing rock n roll, terry - forever.
I was at this gig! Missing my long-time friend Rick the bass player dearly.
Best version ever , Terry and waddy driving all the way
What great evenings those were at The Joint. Saw Terry perform this dozens of times there. Good chance I am in the audience.
Great take on a great Kinks classic!
Great vocal and...a very competent lead guitar...

See the credits on this page or at the end of the video.

That would have been after Jack Tempchin left the scene. Waddy arranged for a different person to record those shows.
I was looking for that also. Seems that a bunch of Joint recordings have vanished.
