It doesn’t look like plastic surgery to me. It either looks like weight gain or some sort of reaction to medicine, like prednisone. 🤷🏻♀️
Exactly what I was thinking, prednisone!!
His body is still slim.
I had a relative who was on Prednisone for an autoimmune disorder. He had the same bloated face for months. Another side effect of prednisone is a fat deposit just below the back of the neck, sometimes called a buffalo hump.
@@wendigo1919 that’s why it looks like it could be from prednisone. It specifically makes the face puffy and more round.
Can Scientologists take medication???
Tom Cruise knew he looked different - and he still went to the ball game. Kudos. Can we just age & not be condemned for it?
Exactly! He still looks good in my eyes
@@mariegriffin9952 Doesn't he just!
I agree natural aging is good, but this puffiness doesn't look natural. Looks like prednisone reaction.
Huh, he looks strange.
@@Melinda8162 He is strange.😛😂
Possibly just a side effect from prednisone. Cruise has been smart with his work, I doubt he would overfill this much.
Definitely looks like it could be cushingoid side effects from pred or dexamethasone. If that's the case, I feel kinda bad that he's being so heavily scrutinised. I guess it comes with the territory of being a celebrity though.
That was my first thought
Remember though, he is a Scientologist, and very high ranking in their church; and Scientology forbids medical intervention of any kind. Including medications. It is why John Travolta’s son died. He needed meds for his epilepsy, and their church wouldn’t allow it.
@@piapadmore430 Yes, I had thought of that. He does not do drugs. It looks like weight gain to me.
Definitely prednisone I reckon
Dude is 59 and easily one of the best action stars of late. He's probably on meds for controlling pain since he does so many of his own stunts. Whatever happened, I wish him well because his movies are 100.
That was my thought too. Cruise has just finished a mammoth shoot for “Mission 7“, and he’s probably taking something to help his body recover after the many months of abuse doing crazy stunts. If it was a cosmetic procedure gone wrong, I don’t think he would appear publicly until the side-effects went away.
The fact that he isn’t hiding himself suggests the swelling is caused by something innocuous.
Pain medication definitely makes your face swollen.
Hes a scientologist so no hes not on meds
I totally agree with you.i think the guys a legend.
Yes prednisone can do this for sure!
He should not be expected to look 30 forever, age catches up with everyone. I don’t think that the recent changes to his appearance are related to plastic surgery or fillers , it looks more like bloating that can be due to certain medications and perhaps some weight gain and natural aging related changes as well .
I don’t wanna get old. 😭😭😭😭😭
He getting old …nothing wrong just getting old like everybody else in the world!!!!!
he still looks adorable and he’s short lol 🙈🙈
Then he should age gracefully. He's obviously had surgery. And doesn't need it.
Agreed.
I laughed out loud the way you say, "because he is human... some people might not think so, but I believe he's human..." hilarious!

Yeah it looks like edema which has happened to me too.
Nicely said. There are indeed medications that can add weight.
Or some weird Scientology remedy
I'm fascinated by men's cosmetic surgery and this is one of the few channels that gives info and insights!
I don't think Tom Cruise's new look has anything to do with plastic surgery. It's got to be weight gain, illness, or a side effect of some medication. I just don't think Tom Cruise would walk into a plastic surgeon's office after all these years, and do something this stupid.
He looks 30 years younger! People that age I know get fat, ill and depressed without looking younger.
@@timontherocks7521 I don't mean to be rude or disagreeable, but he does NOT look young. However, I'm sure he'll lose weight, get it together, and look like his old self before his next film.

If you're looking to attract women the best thing you could do is be natural with confidence. Mature women 40+, like myself, find confidence (not cockiness) more attractive than looks. Dr M, Tom Cruise is 59! Not late 40's or early 50's. You can't deny he still looks good for 59.
He's had facelift prior to this.

@@GaryMotykie Do you see Any signs of a face-lift by his ears?

First of all , he is 59.
Secondly, he could definitely be on steroids/prednisone as a result of pain/inflammation/arthritis from prior injuries. This would also cause weight gain and facial puffiness.
Unrecognizable, he looks like a younger version of someone else...
At his age, fat from weight gain wouldn't go into his face that much and erase all the lines he had... Unless he gained 400 pounds...
I hope he is well and healthy... His puffy face reminds me of chemotherapy side effects...

Hello 👋 Sarah.... how’re you feeling hope you’re fine and staying safe??
His front tooth is (or was ) directly on his midline. And I was always impressed how that didn't stand out unless you really looked. When a tooth or bite barely out of whack is usually noticeable.
I've always noticed it, but it never looked strange on him somehow and was never disstracting in his acting. You only noticed it in close up photos.
I always saw that too!!! For me, it was like a booger in someone’s nose… I couldn’t stop staring at it…..😂😂😂
What did Tom Cruise say about antidepressants?
Cruise, a Scientologist, disputed the effectiveness of antidepressants. He said, “All they do is mask the problem.” Women can treat postpartum with vitamins and exercise instead, Cruise said.Aug 2, 2005, Maybe he changed his mind?
He only doesn't like antidepressants, he never said he doesn't like steroids. His view in antidepressants are not weird, lots of depressed people also refuse to take them.
Do not think SO

I suspect steroids. Methyl-pred for an infection, chronic condition or pain. Prednisolone can cause weight gain and other unpleasant side-effects, but sometimes it’s the best medication available.
Cushing’s disease was also mentioned, and I guess it’s possible, but it usually comes on over time, and he doesn’t seem to have the bulging eyes that often accompany Cushing’s.
He could have hyperthyroidism, since he appeared so drawn in other recent photos. Perhaps his endocrinologist is working to get his disease under control.
All speculation, of course. It may be nothing more than extra calories, or a bad photo. 🤷
my first thought too, surprised Motykie didn't bring this up

I notice his cheeks look a lot like Nicole Kidman , Jennifer Aniston, Cher, Madonna and a slew of other actors from that generation who got cheek fillers in the 2000s and now theyve all slid down and they have to get more. I can’t wait for celebrities to trend aging gracefully.
I think he is on medication. I'm not a Doctor but doesn't steroids make you bloated and gain weight? 🤔 I do think he had hair restoration along the way 🤷♀️
Hello Robin
How are you doing today?
I find it interesting that the photo you showed at 2:34 of Cruise in 2016 is the closest to how he looks in the recent photos. He doesn't seem to be wearing much, if any makeup in either - you can see similar redness, shiny forehead, minor blemishes, etc. in addition to the puffiness. Both the 2016 photo & the recent ones are, "au naturale," at public events, without obvious use of foundation/concealer & under less-than-ideal camera lighting.
I'm def. no expert, but whatever's going on with his face, I suspect it has more to do with recurring weight gain and/or swelling from medication/illness than with cosmetic procedures.
He’s still handsome ♥️♥️♥️
I'm not a fan of his scientology affliction but I like him. He's an amazing actor and a brave stunt man.
I really enjoy your videos I find them very informative. I was wondering if you could please consider doing a video on aging hands and arm restoration. I'm interested in learning how such a process is done. An example of a person who I believe had this type of work is Madonna.
Thank you
Thanks for the love and support am so happy
Tom Cruise is 59...born in 1962, not late 40’s or early 50’s. He looks good for his age, that’s for sure, although I’m not crazy about his full face.
Hello 👋how’re you feeling hope you’re fine and staying safe??
It sure looks like wheat allergy to me. In the wheat belly book, puffy is the standard look.
I don't think the aliens would allow plastic surgery!
😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜
He looks human to me
Thanks for the love and support am so happy
I saw that and immediately thought side effects from medication. I'm really surprised he didn't mention that as an option.
Hello 👋 Sarah..... how’re you feeling hope you’re fine and staying safe??
I'm telling you, this guy is NOT TOM CRUISE!!!! He is a "CLONE"!!!! Look at his eyes, they're NOT even the same color as Tom's!!!! Who knows, Tom could have been "Taken Out" by Scientology; wouldn't surprise me!!!!
Are you high? Seriously?
Uh oh Scientology is coming after all of us for watching this vid!!
Hello Cynthia 👋.....how’re you feeling hope you’re fine and staying safe??
It's called "moon face" and it does look like the effects of prednisone.
