Lestervai Cayetano - That’s how I felt when I bought FS15, but now I’m trying to get into it again, but decided to play this FS17 because it’s on Xbox game pass.
Always just sell the crap tipper and buy a bigger one. It is going to save you money in the long ran. Less trips means less hours on equipment which in turn means lower daily upkeep.
I already figured out most of the stuff I just playing the game but I do appreciate the fact that you have a channel that's dedicated to the lower end and simpler tutorials. It works out perfectly also because there's a UA-cam channel that goes into the equipment and explains it. You explain the mechanics of the game he explains the equipment of the game and it works out perfect.
STW Exotic thanks buddy :) I didn’t have game pass but they’re offering a trial for £1 right now. I tried FS17, and it turns out I’m much more into watching people play than playing myself!
Thank you so much for posting this video! I've just started playing '17 on my Switch, and your videos have been suuuper helpful. I actually used to play FS '15 on my PS3; and, incidentally, your channel played an enormous part in making that game so enjoyable. Thus, once, I saw '17 on sale in the Nintendo Switch online store, the first thing I did was hop on here to make sure that you had videos about this specific version. Anywho, this is the 2nd FarmSim game that you have helped me with, and I am genuinely grateful. When I think about the time and energy that went into researching, filming, and editing (etc.) just one of these guides, it boggles my mind! 🤯 But, seriously, thank you for creating and posting all of these, and please take care. 🤙
Art, thanks for the videos man, i like how your videos are straight to the point w/o all the goofing off and corny jokes like some of these other videos on YT. Starting out on this game, I went from, 'what am i supposed to do NOW?!?' to 'i gotta go do this''i need to go get that, hire this guy, harvest, lease, collect, pick up, odd jobs, etc. I've rehashed a new love for this game after put FS17 on the shelf for a few years now since i bought it. Never thought to watch tutorials. I just ordered FS19 to multiplay with someone I know, havent opened it yet. I may preorder FS22... thanks again!
The first ad i saw for this game was bragging about how many tractors they have and I thought that a game about tractors would be pretty boring. A few months later I saw a video for the game and I realized that it’s not just a tractor game. There is so much to do in this game, it truly is the best game series...
Don't want to be a naysayer (does anyone still use that word?) but... Just because you're playing on "Normal" difficulty doesn't mean you have to do 3 stage fertilisation, periodic plowing or have to put up with withering. Those options are still fully adjustable on Normal and Hard difficulty (verified before I typed this). What does change and cannot be altered is the price you get for your crops - and that's where the difficulty settings really come into play IMO. REALLY didn't want to criticize this video as great otherwise but felt it had to be mentioned, sorry. On the plus side, great to hear someone say on one of these How To videos that the game speed needs to be x1 (real time) when planting. That's the real gravy right there :)
That is a great point - I think part 3 of this series will be going over all the different type of fertilization and I will be sure to mention that here.
Started the video and when you dropped it to x1 speed it sync’d up to my real-time irl. Thought that was pretty cool. Starting my first farm that isn’t on easy this evening, going back through this series again to help adjust to the additional things I’ll have to do now.

Do not avoid loans, I jumped right into loans... as long as the return you get from the equipment is greater than the interest, its a win. Manage the cash flow and its no problem, you will grow much faster utilizing the loan option. There is a reason why it maxes out regardless of how much assets you have (they know you can milk it if loans was actually based on assets).

There's a lot more to this game than Farmer's Dynasty! When I got done with the tutorials, I was pretty confused with all the way you have to control stuff like the forklift vehicle and collecting logs!
@Vbluguitar Yes, your tutorials were very helpful. I guess as long as I play more of the game, the more experienced I will get with it. That's neat that you can change how fast the time goes in the game and also I thought when you brought up the main menu, I thought the game was already paused instead of hitting pause in one of the sections of the main menu.
Fantastic tutorial! I did some research and bought Farming Simulator for Switch because I found out it is basically Farming Simulator 17 while Farming Simulator 20 is a port of the mobile game. With Farming Simulator for Switch on sale for $7, I felt I could not go wrong. That said, the in-game tutorial was lacking . . . I really don't know jack about farming. Your tutorial was GREAT though! You covered TONS of stuff that, frankly, should have been in the tutorial. Thanks! Excited to get back at it!
I discovered that you can harvest at 14 (instead of 6). Line up the harvester where you want to start. Then engage it, then start cruise control, followed by holding the increase cruise speed button. It maxes out at 14. This is for the default IH harvester. I haven’t tested on others since i don’t own one.

Hi Thank you for this tutorial. I've been wanting to play a farming game for sometime. I used to play the one on wechat (I think it was wechat) the chinese farming where they grow and have holidays gifts and stuff through out the game. I love playing it but unfortunately its in Chinese and I can't understand anything they have in the game. I just look at the picture and plant something hoping they grow. You also can send gifts to your friends. I can understand when people talks to me in Cantonese but not read and write it. Thx.
Hey Arthur I just got the Nintendo Switch Edition and I'm going to follow everything you do 17 since it's the same as the Switch edition. I've been waiting for a really long time to get the Nintendo switch Edition because I wanted to play FS17 but I don't have a PC or PS4 , I haven't played any full version of FS since 15 came out and now I gotta learn from scratch again LOL #FrownyFace and Face Palm 😁
I Like playing the switch edition because it forces me to really stick with the base game which is great. Goldcrest is definitely easier than Sosnovka at the start.
@@Vbluguitar at the moment I am doing silage making to get some money along with doing the missions for the other farmers, I can't believe how much money they payout in some when the mission is complete. I love the cleanliness feature at the different areas of the animals although i don't have any animals just yet. Lastly the piece of equipment i like the most is the new low loader that detaches from the front end, my least favorite thing in the simulator is the logging trailers with the grapple arm because the arm is so much more difficult to use than it was in FS15.
Weird opinion but I prefer Sosnovka to Goldcrest Alley there is more place in the middle to put my stuff and the fields are much closer. Also I can't play with dirty equipment either lol
yeah i’m a little late to the party.. idrk if you will read this but have you ever gotten an issue where starting the game up on pc it just crashes? If so, how could i fix it
If I am planning on getting 19, would you say this stuff pretty much carries over for the most part? Obviously location of things would be different, but the overall "how to" would be similar and using the settings menu with the map etc.? Great video by the way!
Its different - the easy medium hard are very different - the farm planning is a bit different too. But in general a lot of stuff does move right over.
Google suggested your video as the top result and I have a question. Does it matter, for the game, if I don't harvest the Wheat in straight lines? I'm very new to driving simulators and never driven a vechile myself, so have no clue on many topics many people take for granted. So around 20minutes into the video, you demostrate that when you get to the end of the run, to slow down, lift up, wait for the extract straw to depelete, then make your turn. Is it wrong, advisable not to, or any similar statements to do it this way (hopefully which makes sense). 1 Before the harvest (Wheat) touches the rear wheel, reverse hard right, till the forward wheel approaches the Straw extract. 2 Hard Left turn forward to relign to 90 degrees of your previous position. Repeat in a circluar manner till fill and needing extraction. As I've said, I never driven a vechile, and find myself often not being able to do what others see as simple maneviours in a vehcile. So the idea of hard tight turns, and parell harvesting is harder than this circular motion. It took me around 12 real life days to even get the hang of making any turns in a realible fashion! This is before I even noticed I could hire someone to do it for me, and learn from copying how they do it. Now to watch the rest of the video XD
In real life they don't do that often (the square or circle pattern). Usually they cut around the outside and then run back and forth in a straight line. Not sure why this is other than making it easier to collect the straw with a baler later. In game it doesn't really matter how you do it - it won't affect yield.
i just got this game ... now i've been playing farm simalator 15 for a while on my gold pass for the xbox one system and figured i knew what i was doing .... right now i'm prettty much cutting trees and hiring myself out at nearby fields .. but i wish to know more so i looked this game up
@@Vbluguitar yes, I noticed that as I started playing yesterday... I don't think that happens in real life though... and I grew up on farms... yet it wouldn't surprise me if it does happen... thx 4 reply, i meant to come back & alter comment..
@@Vbluguitar No problem you're the reason i even started playing these games when i first started watching you play a few years ago. You was one of the few people who made videos on topics other then complaining cause its too much of a sim. There was tons of those when i started playing. That or just cheat videos. Out of all of them there was u and you made guides, gave tips, and more. Even did gameplay. I would watch your streams and play at the same time lol. Youre one of the few youtubers no one will forget. So keep up the good work. I wont lie its been a while since ive been on your channel so i cant wait to see what ive missed so far.
dude thanks a lot for these guides! when should I hire the workers since theyre convenient but cost some money, when do I need them and when should I be doing things on my own? I dont understand if I should use them as much as I want or not or if I should be doing everything on my own.
The workers are pretty affordable as long as you turn off all the "BUY" settings in the menu. Then they will tell you that they are out of seed or fertilizer and you just refill it yourself. If you have BUY on, they charge you almost double for the fertilizer and seed. But as long as its off, the workers are VERY affordable and I would definitely recommend you use them to help.
Hi Arthur, thanks for these tutorials I've been playing on PC a while but still learn things from your tutorials :). One question I have is about Augers are they worth it and what's the best things to use them for, the reason I ask is i'm trying to find if there is a trailer that can be attached to a Combine so that it goes straight into it rather than have to have run a Tractor and trailer running along side it when it gets full. Michael
Hi Michael! I haven't ever seen a harvester that dumps into a trail behind trailer -that is a cool idea though! The Auger wagons are simply for realism sake. You don't have to use them in game. In the US, In real life we use auger wagons or "chaser bins" to unload harvesters on the field. The tractor then takes the auger wagon up to the roadway to unload it in a waiting semi truck. This is done to keep the semi trucks from getting stuck in the mud.
@@Vbluguitar Arthur thanks for your reply 🙂. Yes it would be cool, but makes sense to be able to unload away from the fields when ground is very wet. Michael
Thanks for this and all your guides Arthur! Really informative & brings the game to life (I've only just started playing). You mentioned a mod that gives more force feedback from the wheel (I think) what was it called? Keen to look it up, as there's little to no feedback with my Logitech Driving Force GT currently :/ Thanks again, great work! :)
Thanks@@Vbluguitar ! I fear my wheel is too old as I've got force feedback at 150% already and just getting the pull on turning, no feedback from the engine/ terrain underneath - its still a massive improvement over a keyboard though and still a very immersive experience :)
I've been through your playlist of farming 17 and didn't find how to use a sower. I went to help the farm on the corner of your road and main road. The one on the right. The machine would seed but nothing else. Don't understand those two arms on it that only one comes down and not both
Ok, so you have seeders (wheat, barley, canola, soybean, grass, oil seed radish) and planters (corn, sugar beets, sunflower, soybean). Seeders usually can cultivate along with seeding, but not always. Sometimes you have to cultivate first. Planters almost NEVER cultivate, so you will definitely have to use a cultivator first. Some seeders and planters also can fertilize while planting and those are nice. The arms you are speaking of are called ridge markers. They are used to mark the field so you know where to plant the next row. You will put the ridge maker down to your right or left where you haven't planted yet, and then plant a row - when that row is done, you will turn the tractor around - drop the other marker into unplanted soil, put your nose on the first maker and then follow that line while you plant again. So they basically show you where to go next. DON'T PUT THE RIDGE MARKER DOWN ON YOUR PLANTED CROPS or you will destroy them. Hope that helps! I honestly never use ridge markers, but in real life farmers do use them.
@@Vbluguitar it wasnt my farm it was one of the farms you help out. I first used the combine I call them to get the wheat. He paid me then I used the know he paid me for that then I was supposed to use what I was asking about. It was seeding I seen the white pellets going all over but the numbers was not falling it had a wheat symbol and fertilizer symbol neither was moving
I know absolutely nothing abt farming in general and I get really confused when looking at all of the equipment and all of the crops because I have no idea what to do
That game is so hard to understand. In game Tutorials are unclear, written so tiny they're almost impossible to read....so it is not a pleasant experience AT ALL (at least for me). Thanks for the video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Anything you lease has an hourly rate and a daily rate - Hourly is only charged as you use the device. Daily gets charged at midnight everynight. As long as you take it back before midnight you won't get charged for second day. The first day is built into the initial lease cost.
press start to open your menu - scroll though the main menu until you get to the settings tab - there will be a setting for (help menu) - turn it to "on"
I just ordered and received Simulator 17, won't load say's waiting for an administator to approve. Can you do this game with just a laptop and key board or do you need to get a joy stick of some kind, if so what kind.
Keyboard and mouse is fine - but its a bit easier with a controller - any 24 dollar xbox clone controller from walmart will do. I use the A series controllers. They last about year and are 20 bucks.
Its up to you - this game is really open ended, so its kinda "how you want to play it" These are just ideas to help you get a bit faster planting equipment for your farm
It depends on the map - If you are Playing on Goldcrest, you arleady own the cow barn. Its down near the shop in town. When you drive along the main road toward the shop, then pass the shop and turn left, its on the right side. There will be a symbol on the map.

Very useful and very easy to follow video. Prefect pace. It's much appreciated.
wrongway2001 my pleasure. Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for including us women in your video when you addressed "Ladies & Gentlemen." :)
Your welcome Olivia. Actually, a good amount of women play Farm Simulator
@@Vbluguitar, actually a lot of us do. And the world of gaming shouldn't underestimate us... 💁🏼♀️
sigh....
@@Nediler, what the hell is the sigh for??!
@@Mystic480 you cant tell? *sigh...*
Yo, the case tractor is legendary. Almost like a classic.
definitely
Weird opinion but I prefer Sosnovka to Goldcrest Alley there is more place in the middle to put my stuff and the fields are much closer. Also I can't play with dirty equipment either lol
I love Sosnovka.
Just started playing this. Thanks for the great tutorial video!
Glad to help Amiga
Mate, thank you! I bought the game years ago and am just now trying to play it. Your video helped me a lot. Great work!
Glad to hear it!
Look at you big boi. Just look at you plow them fields. I bet your ancestors are smiling down upon you.
I am not even sure how to take this comment...
I play a lot of FPS games and this looks really fun!
Its a great game - very relaxing.
Always nice to see and hear your FS tutorials 👌
You are really easy to follow! Thanks, helped a lot. Subbed!
There’s 3 types of fertilizer in “real life”. Nitrogen, soluble potash, and potassium.
oh man that statement is so oversimplified I dont even know where to start
I'm with ya on dirty equipment
yeah i’m a little late to the party.. idrk if you will read this but have you ever gotten an issue where starting the game up on pc it just crashes?
In game it doesn't really matter how you do it - it won't affect yield.
i just got this game ... now i've been playing farm simalator 15 for a while on my gold pass for the xbox one system and figured i knew what i was doing .... right now i'm prettty much cutting trees and hiring myself out at nearby fields .. but i wish to know more so i looked this game up
Hopefully you find my videos helpful!
@@Vbluguitar so far yes i have
I love this game it makes me happy😀😀😀
lol @ feeding straw to the animals.. it is used for bedding, not food. Hay is used for food.. 8D
Straw is also used in TMR and fed to the animals as filler.
@@Vbluguitar yes, I noticed that as I started playing yesterday... I don't think that happens in real life though... and I grew up on farms... yet it wouldn't surprise me if it does happen... thx 4 reply, i meant to come back & alter comment..
Im a pro but still come back to this video from time to time to make sure i havent forgotten something.
Its a great video lol
Thank you DK!
Thank you this was of great help.
Your videos are very useful for newbies like me, thanks man!
Glad to hear that!
FS 17 is something different. Idk why but I loved to play FS 17 to much
IKR - I still play it on my switch.
Original OG ! Thank you for this content! =D
Glad to be of service!
dude thanks a lot for these guides! when should I hire the workers since theyre convenient but cost some money, when do I need them and when should I be doing things on my own? I dont understand if I should use them as much as I want or not or if I should be doing everything on my own.
The workers are pretty affordable as long as you turn off all the "BUY" settings in the menu. Then they will tell you that they are out of seed or fertilizer and you just refill it yourself. If you have BUY on, they charge you almost double for the fertilizer and seed. But as long as its off, the workers are VERY affordable and I would definitely recommend you use them to help.
@@Vbluguitar oh i understand , that's good to know thanks man.
Michael
I have 8 fields now. 22 and 23 I merged into 1 field. Found all 100 nuggets. Do you use Course Play.
I don't love courseplay. Had too many issues with it because of multiplayer
I wanna watch this video all day
Well that's easy just clear your schedule for the day, push play then watch it till the end then hit replay problem solved LOL 😆 😂
I just use the Logitech app to make adjustments to the force feedback. Hope that helps :)
Thanks@@Vbluguitar ! I fear my wheel is too old as I've got force feedback at 150% already and just getting the pull on turning, no feedback from the engine/ terrain underneath - its still a massive improvement over a keyboard though and still a very immersive experience :)
Thank you so much for teaching me to do farming!
My uncle as a farmer: hes just a city boy
Me: no I’m not i play *FARMING SIMULATOR 17*
lol
I remember my old military sergeant saying he always loved playing this game lol
Its relaxing
@@Vbluguitar I should have mentioned I am playing on console Xbox one
I know absolutely nothing abt farming in general and I get really confused when looking at all of the equipment and all of the crops because I have no idea what to do
Don't worry, just follow all Arthur's videos and you'll become an expert in farming in no time 😀
Is this game still worth it in 2021? Or should I spend more money for some of the newer releases?
Wait until November - FS22 is coming out - then it will be worth the upgrade.
@@Vbluguitar Alright. BTW thank you for the quick response on a 2 year old video!
What does the straw thing do for the harvester I need to know ASAP
Just saw this - Straw when left in rows can be picked up and sold or stored - You can use a collections wagon or baler to do this.
What is the benefit of covering produce on the tipper versus leaving it uncovered?
In real life its to keep crap out, and product in. In the game, nothing but looks lol.
Arthur and Simone Chapman k thx
That game is so hard to understand. In game Tutorials are unclear, written so tiny they're almost impossible to read....so it is not a pleasant experience AT ALL (at least for me). Thanks for the video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Glad I was able to help!
You think I should get this instead of FS 19? I figured this is way cheaper than FS 19.
I would wait - FS22 is coming out Nov 22nd and FS19 will be DIRT cheap
Tell us where the selling place is!
There are several places to sell - I think this map has 12. You have to find the one with the highest price which is different on everyone's games.
cost per day question. do you still pay even if you don't use it that day?
Anything you lease has an hourly rate and a daily rate - Hourly is only charged as you use the device. Daily gets charged at midnight everynight. As long as you take it back before midnight you won't get charged for second day. The first day is built into the initial lease cost.
im not a noob i love to mod the game this helped alot i know basic of farming but i started makeing a farm lately
Glad to be of service Highland!
Nice video like the tractor!
Thank you!
How do you get rid of all the stuff on the ground after you harvest? Just downloaded it
Use a cultivator
Thanks for help and tips just got fs17
I lost my menu and can’t get to it to see what I have to press what would I press on ps4 to see what I have to press
press start to open your menu - scroll though the main menu until you get to the settings tab - there will be a setting for (help menu) - turn it to "on"
Should I get this game? Is it a good game? Please somebody help
If you like slow paced simulators that are open ended (no real story) then you will like this It happens to be one of my favorite types of games
People love my SWEET Corn and I SLURRY BEFORE DELIVERY! SMH.
WHAT THEY DON'T KNOW N ALL THAT
Great videos sir
Very nice video props for explaining to console user like me as well I'm subbing :)
Welcome aboard
OMG YOU RESPONDED THANKSSSS
Very well explained tutorial :)
I just ordered and received Simulator 17, won't load say's waiting for an administator to approve. Can you do this game with just a laptop and key board or do you need to get a joy stick of some kind, if so what kind.
Craig Sayner you can play with a keyboard :-)
Keyboard and mouse is fine - but its a bit easier with a controller - any 24 dollar xbox clone controller from walmart will do. I use the A series controllers. They last about year and are 20 bucks.
i just like driving my truck really fast
Should I just do everything in this guide or just use the financial guide first
Its up to you - this game is really open ended, so its kinda "how you want to play it" These are just ideas to help you get a bit faster planting equipment for your farm
Great video. Thanks matey; keep up the good work.
Nice
when i go to setting on xbox i can’t go over on game setting i’m stuck in the first column
Daphla you can’t go left and right, just keep going down and it’ll transfer to the next column
SGT SCHULTZ 17 yeah... figured that out yesterday haha thanks though.
I’m confused on what each machine is used for
I know it’s very late but how do I get a barn for cows
It depends on the map - If you are Playing on Goldcrest, you arleady own the cow barn. Its down near the shop in town. When you drive along the main road toward the shop, then pass the shop and turn left, its on the right side. There will be a symbol on the map.
