I’d likely go with a Garret, at least then you know it’s all good. Nothing more heartbreaking than finishing a big job and having to it all over again.
Hey mate, ik when ppl seem to have a 2860, a bunch will often have the turbo placement to the side with a custom manifold and moving the battery. Also when you put in the downpipe, are you able to go into a bit of detail in your placement of it to avoid knocking on the subframe, can't seem to get around it with mine
@@jwmeale3058 they look good don't they on the side, but cost more haha hopefully u don't have issues so I can see how u successfully did it haha, Easiest way I put the turbo in was taking the head off, this means u gotta do a timing belt, but u can also go to a thicker mls gasket when it's off, so u can decompress the stroke slightly. Also let's u port the head and inlets for better flow
Gutted for you mate! Have seen some people "massage" the firewall to make bigger turbo's fit if you were to keep that one. The t25 Garrett is the usual turbo that comes with the kits believe its got a a/r.49 or .64 exahaust housing which is prob smaller than the gt28. You could just get a smaller exahaust housing which would reduce the lag and make the turbo fit but by the time you buy it, it would be better to just get another turbo. Another option is a td04h 15t which used to come on the 225's and some volovos and evo's they spool up super fast as they are high flow but ultimately new is best for piece of mind 🤙
Ah really, well that’s the only way I can see there being at least a gap between 😂 yeah the exhaust housing size was the deciding factor! As I only want the low boost think gt2560 is the way new or used. Don’t want Chinesium again if I have the choice! 😅

Send it on the garret, saves you upgrading later down the line where you'd spend the money anyways, and its peace of mind
I’ve just had a moment of realisation watching this, I’ve got a T28 sitting at mums house from my old S14 days…
*looks at Clio…* 🤔
Ah brilliant 😂 I like the sound of that. Start making a parts list!
Sell the turbo and put it all back together again and enjoy :) OR buy a new turbo that fits ;)
Option one no, option two yes 😂
@@jwmeale3058 Is the correct decision...lolol
@@css172 haha thanks mate, no going back now

I’ve never seen one before until a few days ago! Looks really good tbf. Oh no don’t say that 😂 Looking forward to that dilemma now 🙄

The times finally come!
Few bumps in the road 😅
Damn, hope you sort it feel your pain!
Yeah I’ll sort it mate, bit crappy was clearly ridiculously tight before. Didn’t want that for mine.
Can you remove the complete subframe without supporting the engine also can the steering rack stay in place with the subframe removed?
Yes because the engine is on its mounts still. 👍🏻 I believe so on the steering rack as that’s now held up by the coil overs.
@@jwmeale3058 cheers pal
Should of got turbo kit from ENGINE DYNAMICS
Yeah could of done. But will pretty much be at that same price band, even if I went with with a brand new garret.
good luck
Cheers bro
the usual struggle with bolt on parts that will fit noting in the like of what its made for.
Looked good fitted on the photos I got. Just was clearly resting on the firewall with a heath shield sandwiched between
