- One of the most sought after areas in London Blackheath boasts a large open heath that stretches from Blackheath Village to Greenwich Park. The area gets its name from the Middle Ages where the area was used as a mass burial site for victims of the bubonic plague which is the major reason that the heath has largely remained untouched in centuries. Blackheath village boasts several pubs, restaurants and shops and provides the illusion of country life in the middle of a big city. Just a walk down the hill from Blackheath is one of South East London’s busiest shopping centres (shown in another oldfrostig video).
Sorry about the jumpy picture but oldfrostig was travelling around on a bus and thought this might be an area some would like to see.

Yes got to be one of the best areas in South East London. You’re close to everything London has to offer but it feels like you’re in a village. Definitely one of my favourite areas

I remember a real lovely Toy shop there its was lovely at Christmas time with all the lights love the video
I can imagine Blackheath would look beautiful lit up at Christmas time. Its a lovely village that seems like it’s been taken from the English countryside and just dropped in South East London. Some lovely pubs there with views of the heath and a good selection of eating places. I wonder if the toy shop is still there? Looks like the type of area well suited to a small toy shop. Lucky you. Blackheath must be the most desirable place to live in South London. A real mix of urban and country living. A lovely village with everything you want and then the heath which stretches across to Greenwich Park. Thanks for watching.
