Yes it certainly is. I’d heard that ponies and donkeys can be seen strolling along the streets there but had never quite believed it until I saw it. It felt like stepping back in time and all the locals were really friendly. I’m glad you enjoyed the video.

Yes got to be one of the best areas in South East London. You’re close to everything London has to offer but it feels like you’re in a village. Definitely one of my favourite areas

Yep you can’t beat a good pint of Guinness. The hotel is in a great location, runway views and so close to the airport, can’t go wrong really. I haven’t been to Luton airport since the 80s so I’m guessing it’s changed a lot since then. We generally use Gatwick or Stansted but I prefer Stansted. I hope you have a great holiday

Thanks, I’ve not really got the hang of doing commentaries and usually either put in backing music or a voiceover, or just the background sound that’s there when I’m recording the video. I may have to try a commentary at some point and see how it goes.

I’m sure you’re right. I’m not a great flyer and to even look out of the window of a plane, let alone film it, is a major step for me 😂

There is a second, smaller beach in Cala’n’bosch but I’m not sure of the best way to get to it. I’m sure if you ask in the hotel they will be able to recommend somewhere. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

@@oldfrostig we about to get a bus to the other beach it’s 20 mins away so hopefully it’s nice … it’s currently 30 ish temperature already it’s so nice much better then twickenham haha

Glad to be of help. Yes I forgot the air conditioning can be quite temperamental, you have to make sure all the doors and windows are properly closed before it kicks in. The doors can look shut but sometimes you have to fiddle with them to make sure whatever sensors they have there kick in. It can be quite a pain. Have a word with reception if you are having a problem though as they are usually very willing to help. Have a great time.

@@oldfrostig hahaha we walked to the 2nd beach it took roughly 25ish mins from the first beach it was a disaster all rocks … so we walked back to the normal one …

We enjoyed the food and always found something to our liking. They do a number of theme nights including Mexican and Asian food so in theory you shouldn’t get bored. We stayed for a week so it might be different if you’re stopping longer. Hopefully you’ll enjoy the food. There was plenty of drinking water in the restaurant and the are places you can fill up a water bottle at the bars but we didn’t try those. We didn’t drink the tap water and honestly couldn’t tell you whether it was drinkable or not. We drank bottled water in the apartment but I would expect you would be fine drinking the water from the dispensers by the bars. We hope you have a lovely holiday.

As a short this video is very narrow and may give the impression this lion is in a cage but I can assure you that is not the case. The lion is in a very large enclosure in a sanctuary not a zoo and apart from open days which help raise much needed funds for the sanctuary this wonderful big cat is not on display to the public. It is sad though how endangered these animals are and ideally they would all be able to roam wild and there would be no need for such places. I hope this reassures you a little.

It’s back on from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 October at the Excel, maybe you’ll manage to get to that one? We’re planning to go on the Friday and the Sunday as we find Saturday too busy for us. It’s also back on at Birmingham NEC from 29 November to 1 December so hopefully you’ll manage to get to one of them this year.

Yes we were there today. It was overcast but still t-shirt and shorts weather. It did rain on the way back though! Typical English summer! Apparently it’s supposed to be a scorcher over the weekend that’s why we went today as didn’t want it to be too hot. First time I’ve been to Southend in years and the first time I’ve been to the end of the pier since the 80s! I’m sure there was nothing much there apart from a pub back then but could be I just focused on the pub 😂. I was actually quite impressed with the place. We will definitely be going back.

@@oldfrostig Thank you I enjoyed the trip, my old home town before moving abroad, but nothing much has changed but I do enjoy a trip back to Southend now and again.

@@logicastephenI’m glad you enjoyed watching. I can imagine it would be a great place to live, as I expect there is plenty to do there year round. I really should visit more often.

We’ve only been there a few times, a great little place to stop when visiting Birmingham NEC. Still seems like a thriving little town, musicians in the pubs at weekends and plenty of eating places. Obviously we have no idea to how it compares to back in the day but we’ll definitely be heading there again. They really get into the Christmas spirit and you might want to check out our other video of the Christmas festival in Coleshill. We don’t get anything like that anymore where we are so it was lovely being there for the Coleshill festival. Thanks for watching.

We had a great time there. The staff are really friendly and we enjoyed the food in the restaurant as well as at the pool bar. You get free use of the water park next door which we didn’t bother with. The harbour is only a 5 minute walk away and has plenty of bars and restaurants. The beach is also about a 5 minute walk. If you want to see a beautiful sunset the lighthouse is about a 10 - 15 minute walk in the other direction. There is a restaurant there if you want to have a drink or meal while watching the sunset or you can just sit out on the rocks and watch it for free. We hope you have a lovely time.

Yes Cala ‘n Bosch is lovely. You have the small harbour with all the restaurants as you see in this video as well as two beaches. There’s also the lighthouse which is about a twenty minute walk from the harbour where you can watch beautiful sunsets. There was a time where pretty much all cars were RWD. I can imagine driving this route in one being a far more exhilarating experience than taking the Happy Train.

To be honest this was filmed at about 11pm and most of the restaurants were emptying by then. Also I believe it’s still what they call pre-season and I’m told it starts to get busy from the 3rd week in June so you should be fine. The bar we went to was still open when we left at 2am. Tom’s bar was fairly busy when we went past. I’m not sure what time that closes. Cala ‘n Bosch is not far from the far bigger town of Ciutadella where there are far more bars and restaurants. We did an early evening video of that if you want to check that out. I hope you have a great holiday. Please let us know how it goes.
