Assume the worst and treat professional sports the same as professional wrestling.

There is a small albeit powerful cabal of players, referees, and executives fixing matches. The amount of dirty money is simply too large to leave on the table.

It is annoying that sports betting and fantasy sports are more popular than the underlying sport itself. I find it fascinating that people do sports betting or gambling of any sort. You are playing a game where you are mathematically set up to lose. I guess it don’t care if people lose their money foolishly, as long as the government doesn’t use my tax money to bail them out.

Thank you for this very important discussion. You have addressed all my concerns. I find it extremely disturbing how sports betting advertisement is allowed during games. Even more disturbing are the former athletes betting during games. I am seriously considering not watching altogether.
Paradoxically, the only people who either get banned, or have their action limited by Sports Books, are the sharp 8% of the bettors who are profitable!
It is def a perfect storm for more scandal.💯
