As a lady from a far country who had to change a garden tap alone I have found this extremely helpful and with your assistance I could change my tap successfully 👑 Thank you I appreciate it so much🙏
Glad it was helpful!
That got eaten yesterday 😭
@@Dragon-Slay3r The tap got eaten?
Cheers Lads, removing and fitting one today, didnt know the washer was not included with the tap 👍👍
clear and correct instructions, did a screwfix click and collect order of the items needed, and had an annoying leaky tap fixed in no time. My first time and I am not particularly good at diy. Really pleased! Many thanks for advice!
Very useful guide to replacing the tap. This is how a How-To guide ought to be. Thankyou
🙂Great video and great to hear you say that you used a tap with a double check valve. Fitted mine yesterday.
Changed my tap today, great video….Many Thanks….😀❤️👍
Glad it helped
Cheers,just fixed my leaking tap
Really helpful - thanks guys
Glad it was helpful!
You've done well...I got someone to do my roof he used the water and I told him I had it off as I had a leak in the house ... I think he has Zero brain cells he broke several things and care issue of other people things ZERO ...want do they teach them these day's...
Now need to go out and get things to fix a bloody tap can't turn it off he bustered it aswell also didn't say he would fix it...and I know this guy boy I am ashamed that I know him...
Also I cleaned up his mess with the roof tiles...
Now get stuff and thanks for the fixing the tap as I am getting a different one on...good clip...
You had me at 'We are not plumbers'....
Useful thanks, but note in the UK you must fit a tap with a check valve (as you did). Its in the regulations, otherwise there is a risk that the unsafe water in the hose pipe attached to the tap may be drawn back into the house supply. So spend the extra £2!.
very true
I think it reduces the water pressure a bit too as a side effect.
Unbelievable, that you didn't mention turning the water off first. No info on the washer, or the non-return valve. Great job, guys!
non-return is built-in
@@DanielJohnHowTo Yeah - if you know to buy one that has it built in. Dear, oh dear.
can you place nozzle for out side tap
2 many cooks lol

How do you fix a leak from the copper pipe leading to the tap. Mine has split at the joint. Thanks.
My tap seems to be too tight or im not getting right grip put w40 on it but still no joy any tips?
Hi, what size are the washer and where did you get them. Thanks l.
You don't need a washer. Iv'e never used one in 30 years. Just packet out with PTFE tape in the gap between the fitting and the tap. Never known anyone who uses a washer. These pair are clowns.
do we turn the water off...or do we keep it on during the process...??
Never said the size of it, the diameter of the connection, are they all universal size?
What’s the link name of the rubber? bought a kit but it wasn’t in there
which part exactly?
@@DanielJohnHowTo the rubber ring you showed at the end
How do you make it straight I tightened up my one it’s halfway it doesn’t go straight I used a spanner it doesn’t work it’s to strong it just won’t be straight
You keep packing it with PTFE tape until it tightens at the 11 o clock position and then give it a further tweak by hand until you reach the 1 o clock position. The tape will squash down to a very thin line and the tap will hold. Don't cover all the threads but just the gap between the tape and the fittings. Wrap the tape in an anticlockwise direction looking at it from the front so that it doesn't unravel as you tighten the tap.
You don't need a washer or any sealant. I fitted these taps for 30 years and only ever used PTFE tape. It's all you need if you know what you're doing. If you don't know what you're doing then get someone who does.
So if I just have sort of a pipe fixed to the brick in wich the tap is fixed to should I put the grip on the pipe ?
1 year since I haven't wash my car with the presure washed because of the tap :)) I m so ignorant
Why isn't there water shooting out of the pipe when you remove the tap
isolated from the inside
@@DanielJohnHowTo -- how do you isolate water...??
That’s if you can get the 23 year old,old tap off, without fracturing the wall pipe and 2 spanner’s ,plus WD 40.
you can try wire brushing and letting it soak, sometimes it's a pain removing old stuff like that from experience.
@@DanielJohnHowTo Thank you!
bit of a comedy double act goin on but really helpful too thnx
This video was helpful but would have been must better with just the chap that’s replacing the tap explaining what to do. The second bloke videoing is just so irritating keep butting in.
The "echo" was rather irritating😉
Unless you list the name and size of all the materials that you need to do this then the video is useless.
