  • Hey Gang! In today's episode we have some fun with Metal! We travel to a nearby metal shop where we meet a few awesome guys and they fabricate a custom support for our kitchen remodel. We love going to these places and seeing the unique history in the building. Drop us your thoughts and what you'd do to reinforce this peninsula if you had to!
Thanks for watching and we'll see ya in the next one!

I knew I recognized that thick router base. Awesome of you to mention Pat Warner! Pat was an authority, on routers, router techniques and router selection, an educator, and innovator who always made time to discuss and if necessary customize his bases for craftsmen fortunate enough to know about them. Building is important, building tradesmen is vital. Thanks for sharing your skills, knowledge and problem solving!

Awww, the welding brought my dad to mind. Then I saw the ball peen hammer. I have my dad's hammer. Memories are wonderful things.

I recently quit my job, which I enjoyed moderately, to finally work with my father on installing kitchens. I now realize that it is unconsciously seeing your beautiful complicity on construction sites that made me take this decision, and I would like to thank you for having inspired me. I hope it goes as well between my father and I as it does between you two. Keep up the good work !

We always used 1" square steel tubing for support frames under solid surface and quartz countertops. That size gave enough strength and worked into the build up of our tops.

Please take this the right way, your dad deserves much better than "dude". Happy father's day; you are blessed with a good, hard working dad!

Oscillating saws are indespensible on the job. I never had one until about 2 years ago and now I have 3 and we use them constantly for drywall, cutoffs, and cutting holes in all sorts of stuff. Great video.

I saw that base and had a big smile. All my routers have at least one of his bases. I went to buy one for my new Milwaukee cordless and was very sad to find out he had passed.

Prior to installing the plywood support, maybe painting the underside wood the grey color or the cabinets would have been a good call, as coming back and painting it later, you'll have to mask the pretty gold frame.

Love that it is floating and doesn't need a support leg, I think adding a leg there would just get in the way and become an eyesore. Great video as always guys!

Mr. Leonard's forearms look like he could choke out a gator. Awesome looking custom tables and stations, and those old vises were cool!
