I'm kinda tired of all these journalists complaining about reduced utility in the new X4 but they obviously keep forgetting that even from the start of BMW entering the world of raised off road capable people haulers, they never actually advertised it as a sport utility vehicle... BMW trucks have always been known under the nomenclature of "Sport ACTIVITY Vehicles" lol... Basically they were saying "we know there might be competitors with more interior space or whatever, but can they drive, handle, and stir your emotions like we can?". Ponder on this one...
Finally we have a manufacturer who is determined to break away from the tired stationwagon body shape that has consumed the crossover market.

This is exactly my car and I am more than happy with it. I was forced to buy a new after my old AUDI A6 was damaged to no repair, but it worth every cent. I drive with a pleasure and my Flamingo Red drives every other driver crazy ;)
Ive grown love this style and I’m obsessed with it. I wanted a GLC coupe but the deal breaker to it was no panorama roof only a standard sunroof. I’ve had a pano in most of my cars and love the natural light coming in. Adding to that I’ve seen many X6 and X4 and the aggressive styling it has compared to Mercedes makes me want it even more

Most people would choose this (X4) over a 4 series because the X4 is more equipped and more modern. The 4 series seems too little and too basic. Just the same way most people go for a X3 over a 3 series.
Why is that most car reviewers review the highest specs and the most powerful engine, where only 10% of buyers can afford? Why not start to review the base model, where the majority of people can afford?
They reviewers themselves cannot afford to buy. Lol
Because typically the manufacturers give the best or better equipped models to be reviewed. In the end is free advertising for them so they take advantage of that and give to test the better looking, better performance vehicle. It's something that's very normal in this area sadly.
Utility may be the second word in the SUV acronym.... but Sport is the first word .... so it makes more sense.
I think it’s an interesting design and prefer the proportions over an x3. But my only passenger is my dog, so I like the sportier look and care less about the difference in back seat space
Same! I rarely use the passenger seats but have been wanting a bigger car again this is a perfect medium!

If you want something sportier than an x3 and want to stand out, get a 340 sedan.

I just can’t see how a sane person would choose this over a 3 series sedan that goes and stops faster, is cheaper, drives better, wastes less gas and accommodates the same amount of people, or an X3 SUV, which is also cheaper, has better visibility, fits taller people in the back seats and has a lot more cargo space. It’s like an SUV without any Sport or Utility.
People have a desire to be different and stand out, simple as that.

My spec would be the future X4M all black the M40i doesn’t speak to me it’s fast but I feel the X4 would be E92 fast or even faster.

I'm not one to pay more for less, but if everyone in my neighborhood had an X3 I might be persuaded otherwise. That's the general concept around this I suspect.
They should only make the ti and not any more crapmobiles. You know what that the ti is an actual coupe hatchback, unlike all of their GC/X-even number, GT bullshit.

Idk man, the X3 is the smartest choice overall. It handles well, has more space, and looks like a nice little compact SUV. The X4 on the other hand looks like a goddamn next gen 3/4 series that has been raised. Which translates to looking like shit.
Get the X6 if you're really thinking about the X4.
It's funny how people can judge a BMW based on looks... really? Is that how you run your life? Judging books by its cover? You're pathetic... BMWs may not look good in your eyes, but that shouldn't be the point, cars are made to be driven and BMW does a great job at driving experiences, you're not gonna be driving on the exterior of a car...

Which model do you refer? Lots of the sporting versions (///M Performance or /S SVR come to mind) do have harsh rides is the reason I ask.
