I was gonna buy a GLC43 AMG, and I saw this vid as I was researching them. Then I test drove one and an X3 M40i, back to back. It took two street corners to convince to buy the BMW (2021, 382 hp). Great, great driving vehicle.
I’m more a Mercedes fan any day twice on Sundays but I tell you that X4 is fast and powerful now BMW needs to fix their technical issues cause boy here in the states their reputation is on the ground many complaints about them but still stylish and powerful machines!!
My ‘69 911L overheated often, needed carb work it seemed every other week; oh and wasn’t the safest nor the most practical for a child car seat. It was sexy and sounded much faster than it was, when it ran. My ‘20 GLC 43 is reliable, has all the latest tech and safety features with just enough room for a small family. It’s actually quite nice to look at, is fast as sh.. and sounds like a V6 Le Mans sports car when I have the variable sport exhaust open. Ha, my Great Dane fits a little better in the GLC also. My point, why are you seriously comparing anything about a classic 930 sports car with a modern SUV daily driver? 😉

I drove the c43 for the 1st time a couple of weeks ago, and was amazed. I’ve always looked at Audi and BMW but when I finally got behind the wheel of a c43, I was quite impressed. Mercedes handling needs improvement but overall is a fun vehicle to drive especially with its quirks and features. I also like to mention I love the pops from the burbles, Great Job MB!
1st time seeing this video and I noticed is old!!! But….. i just got my GLC43 AMG!!!! And is just a amazing machine!!! The last V6 before the i4 electrified turbo!!!! Not for me the new tech! The good ol V6 is what i wanted!!! I’m proud of it and just amazing!!! White,night edition,black interior and 21 inch wheels with white calipers and all blacked-out badges!!!!
WOW. That OPF is a serious buzz-kill. I had no idea it sounded so different. I used to have a 2020 M40i(now a X3M) and my wife has a 22 GLC43. I'm in the US and those exhaust-clips sound nothing like they do here.
Wow the race we are all waiting for. I don't understand why GLC43 can constantly run similar time while GLC63s run slower and slower. (overheating transmission?) Meanwhile the X4m40i was actually getting slower while X4M constantly run similar times. A little tricky here.
I think I found something that can be the reason (or at least somewhat logical). So for this race the car which has advantage in higher speed is GLC but in the race between X4 m vs GLC amg it is X4 that has the similar advantage and higher speed advantage does not depend on launch control and since after each race launch control is getting affected then the car which pulls at the start time is getting slower slower (X4 here and GLC in more power versions)
@@CarswithPilotTseno there is one clear answer, either your driver is drunk and doesnt know how to use bmw launch control or you took money from merc to show their car is faster! becasue in reality there is literally no way no freaking way that a ugly GLC amg beats a M40i
Hi, the GLC43 has no Race Start or Launch control. Can you please explain the launch process you used? Any revs while your foot was on the break? Cheers
The crazy thing is that X4 has the B58 Engine which can make a whole lot more power with downpipes, maybe intake, meth injection, and the all important tune like JB4 or RaceChips. I think over 700 who is doable. Not sure what mods are available for that benzo. Anyway, a compelling reason to buy the Bimmer.
Both are doing what my Stinger AWD 2020 did--it was 36k as opposed to about 60k plus for both these.They sit up higher and are nicer but you if you track or got public drag a Stinger would do better.I have a Kona N now and it is probably able to do a 12.8 also on a cool day with premium fuel--cars are getting way faster and it depends on the computer and tranny used.
Seems like on the M40i you've not launched it right? Was the traction off, and pushed the accelerator to the max with the brakes on...then release it at the shotgun?
Both cars are fast, some runs bmw wins and some merc wins with only view meters difference and some runs with 1 car length max, on public roads you will not feel that 😊
Sorry mate, I am actually using rode video mic and we never had problems with it before. It might be that the jack got loose and ruined the audio. Interestingly I have no issues when I play the video on my PC. I will do my best to correct it for the future.
Brand new SUVs...30 year old Porsche. Not bad for the old dog...no traction control, old school manual shift gearbox, world famous steering feel...I know which of these I would choose...

Thats already the case with the new tesla plaid. You can Look on yt and youll find them running the quarter mile in less than 10seconds. Most of the time under 9.5 seconds which is crazy considering a bugatti does around 9.5 seconds. I would still choose the car with the engine just because of the Sound!
I hope the lesson is learnt: Less power, less weight, less electronic ( zero ), manual gearbox ( just few gears not 7 or 8 or 9…) means it is faster and much more emotional

Did the GLC43 have a JB4 or something? I timed a 2022 with dragy, and got a 4.7s 0-100, with a low 170s trap speed
