That moment were Lucy pulls David out from the psychosis and he looked at her with all the hope and love he had for her..... I cried because I knew it wasn't going to last.
@@GyroZeppel sad thing is. People you see in anime are the people you want (I don’t mean the character literally, the personality) and it’s so unfortunate 😔
The scene where David promised Lucy that he'll take her to the Moon, the music in the background is Dawid Podsiadło - Little stranger, and it plays exactly the part, where the song hits: "I was a liar, I was not worth of being trusted"
and the moon is pretty desolate when she gets there, so much so that she's imagining him there. it's not a happy ending at all. she needed to care more about him and he needed to care more about himself.
I feel like that's lost to a lot of media, particularly US TV and movies. Occasionally we get them .... But it's all so diluted with the market researched trash we get everywhere else..... You've got to have the courage to dangle something in front of the audience only to snatch it away before you give them the real bittersweet reward of a story
@@jeremypreston5009 If you want good endings then I would recommend Designated Survivor (2016-2019) (Okay show, terrible third season but my that cliff-hanger was amazing.), Crossing Lines (2013-2015) (I really liked the show but others did not. However the ending is not satisfying in that the bad guys get caught but it fits the story.) and finally The Royals (2015-2018) (Terrible soap opera however the, again unintended, cliff-hanger was just brilliant. The one moment the writers did anything good.). You are correct, there rarely is a good ending in anything.
I did not expect to go into Edgerunners and have them: 1) Turn my favorite song from the game into a song I can barely listen to without crying 2) Make me legitimately cry multiple times 3) Make me want to play through Cyberpunk2077 for the 3rd time just to blow Adam Smasher's fucking brains over the pavement. 4) Remind me of this quote: Johnny Silverhand: Well what did you expect? V: Guess I meant, I dunno... a happier ending... for everyone involved. Johnny Silverhand : Here, for folks like us? Wrong city, wrong people.
Incredible how y'all managed to change a song from "oh this is kinda catchy" to "my heart hurts and I can do nothing about it" with a single show. Props, CDPR and Studio Trigger.
Credit where it's due, Rosa Walton (Who is part of a duo called Let's Eat Grandma, if you wanted some more similar stuff) made the song for the game, Trigger masterfully used the song in the anime, and it's all based in the world of Mike Pondsmith's Tabletop RPG. That being said CDPR is the Fixer bringing all these elements together
This compilation of all the happy, cute , and painful scenes with David and Lucy is exactly what I needed to feel empty all over again. Edgerunners still has a strong grip on my heart.
@@jetstreamsam9680 I mean Adam smasher did say that David would be an interesting construct. Could do something with that but it might be retreading ground again
@@jetstreamsam9680 It could just be hopium but theres been a few theories about David not being dead. It goes a long the lines of Araska not wanting to get rid of David purely because of his cyber tolerance.
the fact that this song has a duality of both the great vibes of driving around night city turned into absolute eye bawling depressing song makes it such a goated song without a doubt, the series knows how to attach an emotion towards their songs
The mark of a good story when you actually feel true emotion over people who really don't exist. Wish the story had a happier ending but night city man
Yeah, I know the feeling. Cyberpunk just isn't well suited for happy ever after. The entire genre is a cautionary tail of where we are head as a species. We are evolving, technological selection is guiding our development and it's being sold to the highest bidder.
Was already a good emotional song in the game for the Cyberpunk universe along with music like the credit version of never fade away. But yeah the show made the song mean even more with pure love and sacrifice. As a person who played the tabletops when I was 8 its amazing to see what cdpr has done with the universe today.
Always try to find this song while driving in game because its the only one sound good to me. But the anime is what bring me to hear in real life (and quite a lot)
I heard this song so many times in the game, driving around, it was one the best songs on the radio (or to listen to outside the game). Then Edgerunners dropped, now a wave of intense sadness hits every time I listen to it... God this universe's score and soundtrack are godly!
@@MrK-wc9fw First song I added to my playlist. Certified banger.... I have crashed my cars in game a number of times because I can't just not bump to it lol
@Lotus 07 - Music Seems like the person is talking about how even though they were together the other person managed to be at there lowest despise being with someone who is trying to help them out… That’s my guess from the lyrics
@Lotus 07 - Music it's not that complex... The person saying it says they know the one they care for has fallen from grace and is in a bad spot, because they were there with them the whole way supporting them. So they can see they are hurting, because they've been with them all the way. Which is, sadly, exactly what also happened in the anime.
@Lotus 07 - Music she's aware that he was at his lowest point, because she was there every step of the way. It almost sounds like he was accusing her of not caring when he was down in the dumps when he never noticed that she was doing everything she can to stick by him.
Being 'In the gutter' is English slang for being in the lowest state of your life, a state of failure, a state of ruination. There's an English expression that states how there are highs and lows in life. Highs being moments of success. Lows being moments of failure. Some people only want to be there for you and show they 'care' about you when you are succeeding in life, but will leave you alone and don't want to be with you when you are failing. It's the old 'Everyone wants to be there for you when you are winning, but not when your losing' expression. The quote 'I know that you were in the gutter because I did everything to be there by your side' speaks of someone who wanted to stick by your side and be there for you even in your lowest points in life. Key word being 'wanted.' She tried her best to stick with you but it is a tendency of decent people who are at a low point in their lives to push the people that care about them away so that they won't have to suffer with them, thinking it's the responsible thing to suffer and deal with their own failures on their own and not drag anyone else down with them. Relationships be complicated like that.
Nobody really expected so much from this anime . The concentration of emotion they got in only ten episodes is absurd, i will never forget about this. Every time i play and this song starts in the car's radio it's a stab in the heart.
First time when Lucy and David were using the walking in the moon “brain dance “ they call it , the song just gave me the feeling of blissful happiness like I want to experience the simulation. After the show , the feeling then was like I was sharing David’s and Lucy’s memories that are painful and bittersweet worth to not forget everytime it starts playing . It’s just surprising how our feelings toward the song changed .
exactly man. after the first dew ep i was like this song is good i wanna feel the spark they having on the moon just for the song to play while david was saving lucy at the end T_T.
@@danielshah1684 yes man the ending. 😭When I heard that song playing while smasher was blasting and pursuit of them, I knew it would be their final moments and maybe the whole crew would die
It was always sad to me but the first time it was bc they looked really happy and i want to experience something like that in my own life while the second time well you know
Lucy’s eyes hurt me at the end. The artists just nailed the emotions in them so well that it squeezes my heart when I see how well they showed her sadness.
Yea I can't believe Trigger did this, they did basically the same thing with Kill La Kill, so I knew what I was in for, but I couldn't bring myself to not watch it. I'm so mad they didn't give a good ending. But hey, they game was right, there's no happy ending in night city.

Bruh, I can't believe it's actually become almost a reflex now, everytime I hear the first few seconds of this song I instantly feel sad and/or melancholy. That goes to show the incredible power of excellent storytelling and character development. Hallmarks of a great show, also it's simply an amazing song!
This song means so much to me but for the video game. I even did a cover of it back in 2020. So to see a lot of ppl love this song finally is amazing. The duo “lets eat grandma” have so much great music besides this btw.
The fact that my heart hurts every time I hear this song is a testament to how good the song and the show is. Even though it hurts I always come back to it.
The fact that Projekt Red made it into an actual music video shows how strong Edgerunners made this song out to be. A song can be good on its own. Same as a movie. But when you put them together you get a masterpiece. Love the game and Edgerunners all the same.
I think it's the context used for the song that gives it a memorable feeling than just by itself like how video game osts can be an average audio to other people but to the ones who played the game and heard the ost in-game experience it differently and way more heavier on it's meaning.
The part of the show that broke me was during the car ride to Arasaka Tower. He was being pumped full of drugs teetering on the edge of sanity and seeing Rebeccas as his mom, talking to her, promising her he will make it to the top. That shit broke me. Man tears were shed.
For me, the part that broke me the most, was when david left her the message saying "I'm sorry lucy, I won't be able to go with you to the moon, I cried so hard at this moment.
what I think is cool is that even in the pits of cyberpsychosis david was never a threat to his friends, unlike maine and pretty much every other cyberpsycho. I think it speaks worlds about his moral character.
The last episode killed me. The way David smiled as he died because he knew that he fulfilled everyone’s dreams. He got to the top of araska for his mom. Didn’t stop running for Maine. And got Lucy the freedom she deserves
Hey man. I’ve watched the show until part 8, and I can’t watch last parts, because I heard the end is terrible. I know you maybe won’t see my comments, but… do you think I just will SURVIVE to the end ? I will survive the way lucy is alone now ??? Because I’ m fuking IN LOVE WITH HER !!!

Song hits way differently after the finale, and that’s what makes the show amazing. The development, the events that occur from the first time the song plays to the last, it’s just so beautiful and sad.
It's got an element of sad for sure, but also this weird fragile sense of hope where two people managed to find something beautiful in each other while surrounded by a world of so much senseless hurt and corruption.
@@miscellaneousmedia3753 my only thing I think is wrong with it….is that it had so much to show us, so many things but so little time, but overall it was a masterpiece in my eyes
I just finished the show and I cried at the end. This song made the ending so much more sad. Cyberpunk edgerunners is an absolute masterpiece of a show
I finished it last night, i didn’t cry or nothing but 5 minutes later it just hit me so hard. Now i get emotional everytime i think about David, Lucy, Maine etc.
Dude I recieved such a major spoiler, basically I was watching cyberpunk 2077 gameplay (by that point I had watched till ep 4 of edgerunners) and then in the game V goes in the half life and there's FUCKING DRINK NAMED DAVID MARTINEZ!!!
Friendly Reminder: Cyberpsychosis doesn't go away with Inmunosupressants. They just eliminate the effects but they always come back worse. David's got to a point where he had to be given supressants every 10 or so seconds to stop him from going full psycho. Yet Lucy was able to bring him back with A KISS. That's how much he loved her.
Mike Pondsmith, the guy who created Cyberpunk has said that cyberpsychosis can be cured by love. it's human connection that helps a person recover from it and love is the strongest form of connection
@@fezanater Wow, that's really cool to know, thank you! Now I can imagine a headcanon where Rebecca gets saved, David lives and adam smasher gets smashed to atoms, afterwards happily ever after! Idfc about their power level gap, power of love and friendship this shit and beat the fuck out of him...
Let me comment in poor English from Japan. I sometimes play this song when I am drunk. It is to remind me of the past. Memories always warm my heart, but when I sober up, I feel very sad. That is my current state. I am alone in the room with only the gentle voice of the singer.
I'm not crying. No really I'm not. But I love the use of Lucy's hair as an image. When you're young and in love, and you're hoping to see the person you're crushing on, the first thing you do is look for their hair standing out in a crowd.
Well shit, I came across the one I'm crushing on at a pool, and I couldn't figure out what her hair looked like, cos of her swimming cap, to this day lmao
I always has this same dream where I can only see her hair style. When I watched this show, David's dream of Lucy really reminds me of my dream about 'her'
yeah something crazy i noticed was i swear i never once heard lucy and david say the words "love" specifically and idk what it could mean but its really beautiful to me
The Kanji is different my man, not even close Love's kanji have some sort of mother element , asian think the purest love is a mother feeling to her children
On my rewatch I got so swept up in how cool everything was I ALMOST forgot, then they started to subtley foreshadow how bad things were gonna get and the reminder hit me like a truck
Thats the cool thing about the show though, we all knew exactly how it was going to end as soon as it started. The genre doesn't allow for happy endings. "Wrong city, wrong people"
I have lost the ability to listen to this song without hearing the sound effects and voice lines from episode 10, and it hurts, because I'll hear 2 seconds of it and instantly recall the entire episode from the song beginning to the end
The beauty of this song is that it is both David and Lucy's theme, equally. Both gave everything they had to helping the other, but ended up with nothing for their efforts. David was finally able to save a loved one but it cost him his life, and while Lucy was able to live on it was a hollow existence, with even her dream of reaching the moon turning to bitter ashes in her mouth upon realizing she would never be able to share it with her beloved.

This story was so good. Not only encompassing what makes cyberpunk, cyberpunk. But it also makes me want to live this story, making me so sad and depressed. CDPR really created a masterpiece. It was the first time I've felt something like that from an anime. I am truly amazed of how beautiful the story and the characters of this anime. And I am very grateful for all the people that made this masterpiece, peak, goated anime. Because of this, I feel motivated to keep running until I reach the edge of life.

The updates and upcoming expansion pack really will make Cyberpunk 2077 a great game. It’s a shame it had a bad start, but it will have a great finish.
It revived the game indeed, but only because an insane big amount of people weren't able to even play it at launch, not because the game got extremely better than it was or anything. It just reminded people that you can actually play the game now.
@@CBGBBB Pretty much everyone was hoping Cyberpunk 2077 would pull off a No Man's Sky. And it kinda did. It's a lot more of a polished and cut gem of a game now, but it's far from where players want the game to at least be at.

All I can think about is how devastated this show made me feel and how it probably isn’t even a fraction of what Lucy was feeling at the end. She lost literally everything and while she still got her dream, it means nothing without David by her side. Fuck, man.
That’s night city. A city that literally kills everyone’s dreams. Spoiler ahead for the main game. Even V doesn’t get a happy ending. You chaise the dream of finding a cure just to find out at the end that it was all in vain. Your brain is mush and you only have a few month left to live. And who ever you have a romantic relationship with is going to be equally as devastated as Lucy. Night city is a place where happy endings are extremely rare, if not impossible. In that sense the anima did a perfect job of delivering the hopelessness of living in night city.

Listening to this song after finishing the anime, hits different, it’s like you’re longing for something that isn’t there anymore, just emptiness, specially with the videos and those moments with David and Lucy, it’s literally every guy’s fantasy to do and feel those things with someone, a girl who comes into your life and changes everything. Wish there was more to that story. Edit: Damn! I didn’t know my comment would resonate with a lot of people, I’m really glad to know that others feel and understand this.
CDPR have had such great soundtracks in general for all their Cyberpunk content, and for Edgerunners this song really feels like the most iconic of the show similar to how Never Fade Away was for the game.
...The love has nothing to do with the song. The song is nowhere near "masterpiece"; it's juvenile but catchy with an interesting arrangement. It's upbeat but with a melancholy tone of voice. Fun, unique, fresh, but masterpiece? Lol The show and the story is the only reason why it's going to be popular. It's the new "My Heart Will Go On" (on a much lower scale, sadly fewer people will see this than Titanic...). When people hear this song, they won't have the slightest idea what the girl is singing about (and won't care), they'll remember the end of the show, and there's nothing wrong with that; it is the PERFECT type of song for this story, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
@@hollywoodburford The song was already included in the game and gained quite some recognition. I heard it in the radio while driving through Night City and immediately loved it. I even correctly guessed the artist although I heard only one other song from them before. So the show is certainly not the only reason why people like this song. My point is: Don't make fun about people calling it a masterpiece. That's totally subjective. There's a reason why there are no rating systems for music.
@@hollywoodburford Definitely had a similar take. For me, it's all about the whole picture of song, story, atmo, etc. that makes this track memorable. However, if this song just cold-approach came on, I probably wouldn't think too much about it.

Before the Edgerunners I had another moment with this track. In the game when you merge all Delamain AIs into one, the merged Delamain leaves his "son" to serve you. "Really Want to Stay At Your House" was playing when my V and Delamain Jr. left the garage and rolled together for the first time across the sunny NC. That was my flashback related to the song. But now, after watching the show, it hits entirely different...

In Japan, moon represents love. A Japanese novelist who called Natsume Soseki had asked his students during English lesson how to say ‘I love you’ in Japanese and finally he said ‘ the moon is beautiful tonight’ means ‘I love you’.
Isn't "I love you" in japanese supposed to be "(ai)shiteru" or "(dai)suki"? Because "Kon'ya wa tsuki ga kireidesu" is a bit different. Or maybe it's supposed to also mean that as a metaphor?
「今夜は月が綺麗ですね。」= ‘the moon is beautiful tonight.’ It’s a beautiful sentence 🥹and when I see moon I realise love at once. The production is really great😭😭😭😭

@UCJqjZXnDSsBx68scbS1woiw I'm sure there will be a sequel, eventually. I just hope they follow a bethesda approach where every game is an independent story in the same universe, and previous games main lore points actually had an effect on the future that we can see/hear from characters talking about it.
9 years ago when I saw the first cyberpunk trailer, I would have never in a million years imagined myself crying my heart out because of an animated show. It’s crazy to think about. I love cyberpunk ❤️
This anime kills me. They both did everything to give the other everything they could offer. David gave his life to protect Lucy. Yet Lucy lost everything... she now has no one. She finally got to visit the moon, but all by herself. David sacrificed everything for her, but all she wanted was him. We all knew he would die. It was obvious. Doesn't mean it hurts any less... I'm bawling.
@salty sailor no one feels bad for you you went looking in the comments on a youtube video about the anime obv people were going to be talking about it.
@salty sailor I mean, knowing that David dies is pretty hinted throughout the show. You even see him getting shot in the head during the opening. That being said, the last 10 seconds are still a punch to the gut. Also, don't go looking at music videos if you don't want to get spoiled lol
WARNING: Wall text of feels. I remember when first hearing this song, in June 2020, six months before game release. It was featured in a gameplay video(The CYBERPUNK 2077 NEW Gameplay Demo 20 Minutes 4K). In that trailer they played 33 seconds of this song. I kept going back to those 33 seconds over and over. It stuck. This is one of my favourite songs in Cyberpunk 2077, even after 500+ hours played I can't get enough of it. Now, I have this nephew. He's been looking at uncle Tvayvl playing games ever since he could barely reach over my gaming desk. So much so that he became a gamer himself. He has seen me play so many games while I parted words of wisdom(I hope) along the way. On his 18th birthday I got him Cyberpunk 2077 Collector's Edition. When he graduated high school I gave him a ride to a friend's house while playing this particular song in my car. To me it meant that he was free now, and it was a wish of good luck out there with all the choices, possibilities and risks of the adventure that is life. It is a great song which the series utilised perfectly in Edgerunners two years later. Here is the kicker...my nephew's name is David. And I hope he has taken all my advice to heart from back when he watched me play games. I hope that he remembers enough to not go down the Corpo-Rat path without forgetting where he came from and who he really is. There is no honour, truth or meaning in reaching to the top of a pile of garbage(which Arasaka is IMHO). In Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the two things that kept David together and centered him, were his humanity and love, even after keeping pushing himself and turning into something he clearly never intended or wanted to be. Manipulated or not. I know my nephew watched Edgerunners and I know it hit him in the feels as much as it hit me. And I also know he remembers when I played this song to him. I love ya, kiddo, and wish you all the best in life! I know you'll do great, but keep true to your humanity and do go Nomad once in a while. Find and hold on to the truly important things in life, whatever you find them to be. Money and respect you may earn, but it means very little next to keeping your humanity and love. Stay true to yourself, ya hear, and try not get lost in corpo-manipulations and schemes. The high of those corpo-towers is never worth the price paid.
It's amazing how universal the language of emotions is. So many people all over the world sharing the same/similar feelings. It feels great to see/feel/remember that we can recognize, respect and cry over love. Even if it's a fictional story. Also congratulations to the authors of the songs, check out their other music too, quite amazing and deserve the (probably unexpected) popularity surge.
This perception of 'universality of emotions' i had with Final Fantasy XIV too...its interesting to notice the same or similar reactions with an epic story. We can see the same thing with Lord of the Rings. It's the result of a decent piece of a art...or magic.
I feel exactly the same. It is just incredible that in this anime we feel all the same even in various places and speak different languages. It is also lovely to see lovely comments such as yours :)
The sadness this song now invokes is indicative of how powerful the anime is. It's like now whenever this plays one is compelled to listen to it as if to honour those who passed away in the series. This is now a tear-jerker.
That’s literally me with Never Fade Away after finishing the game. This song is definitely added to my list of songs that give me emotional sense memory.
As sad as Edgerunners and this song has made me feel, I think it's genuinely beautiful how many people have started to think about love and happiness in their own lives after watching it. That's true art. I hope we all come out of this happier and a little less lonely than we were before. Who knows? We might find our own Lucy or David out there to live out our dreams with. It's worth a try.
It really made me think about the friends I've had and lost. Arguments that seemed so important at the time really weren't worth losing contact in the end...
Every once in a while, this song comes on, and I’m instantly transported back to every thing in my life that made this series so personal to me and, regardless of what I may have been doing prior to it coming on, tear up the moment after the final drop. I can tell that this song will forever be one of my little treasures that can transport me to a moment in time whenever I’d like to go back for just a few seconds. Thank you Trigger.
I've never been so devestated by a single song. Up until the last episode this song used to make me so happy, and now when I hear it I can't help but feel all of the bittersweet loss that David and Lucy and the gang experienced in Night City. Hats off to the team behind the show for the universal feeling of love and loss being so well encapsulated in just 10 episodes.

I don't think a show with only 10 episodes has ever had such a massively wide spread effect as edgerunners has. I mean everyone who watches it says its a masterpiece, and all of us just wallow in post edgerunners depression now. What a gat'damn legendary show.
Sadly never reached the highs of Arcane despite having a better world to build off of IMO. But still it was good and got me to finally try Cyberpunk 2077 which I appreciate.
Very mediocre anime to me. I don't think I've ever felt nearly as isolated in my opinions on entertainment, but I'm sorry, I just can't see the appeal.
Man this show really changed my life and the ending hit me at places I didn’t even know. It was overall such a great show and fantastic characters and all of that within 10 minutes. We might lose people that we love at some point in our lives but we should cherish and love every single moment with what time we have left cause we never really know when they’ll be gone. To everyone who are reading this, A great salute to David Martinez and good luck to you all for the new chapters of your life to come :)
Another day after watching the show, another day scrolling down the comment section consumed by relentless depression and the void in my heart. Can't stop grieving on that things gone that way and not the other. Understanding that i'm not the only one feeling this way - actually helps. Thank you guys, for being here and sharing your feelings.
You’re not alone. I bought the game the day after I finished the series (5 days ago) and have put an unhealthy amount of hours into the game in order to cope 😢 I’m pretty sure I’ve already surpassed 36 hrs played
the scene of her waking up David from psychoses hit hard and i could not tell why, just now i noticed her make up was running due to her crying. I barely seen any anime using this small, but highly impactful body language. There's so many minute details that makes this show such a master piece.
It happens, one of those shows that I categorize as a "masterpiece I don't ever want to watch again" so that I don't have to go in nitpicking and ruin the experience I just had....it happened to me with Clannad the after story.
What a pleasant surprise this anime was. I really hope they keep the animation studio/writers and continue to explore the universe. There’s just so much potential here
I don't really think that they will continue. This was a promotional anime like God Eater. It promoted the game to revive it, but the series has a great ending, so I think they'll leave it here unless the anime makes tons of money for CD PROJEKT RED.
Still waiting for Hasbro and Takara to let Trigger do a Transformer anime, they have a lot of Transformer nerds on staff who'd be great to let run wild with it.
It will continue both in game and in another series. Johnny and David "died" exactly the same way from the same arm weapon from Smasher, we all know how that worked out with Johnny.
Sometimes when roaming around Night City you can hear this playing inside shops or markets and it always makes me stop and remember all my favorite scenes of edgerunners and tear up. Not a lot of songs can make me this emotional.
I was listening to this song while playing online with my best friends. Now, when I listen to it, I get hit by the bittersweet feeling of not living close to them anymore, but we still play as if I never left my hometown. Thanks to the series now I have two soul crushing reasons to cry to this beat.
The way David's dream was to see the dreams of the people he loved come true, like his mom and Lucy. The way Lucy wanted to protect the one she loved the only way she could, and lets not forget Rebecca "aint no one l watch as close as l watch you" that really took my breath away
She didnt deserve to die the way she did. I see people compare whos better between Lucy and Becca, and who david "shouldve" been with. Regardless of who loved who more, they both loved him from the bottom of their hearts. Lucy acted mysteriously, and kept her feelings hidden from David, while he was on a destructive path, i feel like had she just told him the truth. He wouldn't have been backed into a corner like that. But it still makes me tear up knowing that becca stood with david the whole way through. A part of me wants there to be a 2nd season, or some MIRACLE that ONE of them lives. But i know its just the denial phase talking...
@@BigGuy653 None of them deserved their fate but I think that's the point of the story. Night City just keeps on taking. Even Lucy who got her dream still had to lose everything for it. Having any of them come back would ruin the impact of the story. I give cdpr and studio trigger a lot of credit for sticking the landing, even if it's a painful one.
I've been waiting for an anime like this for a long time..Edgerunners hit me so hard that it opened a heart wound from the start. Even the choice of music ... phantasmagoric. To enter your head with arrogance and never take them off I strongly hope for a sequel to the anime. Congratulations to CDPR and Trigger for giving us this masterpiece.
@@shadowfang1034 a sequel in the sense of a new story with new characters. Basically this was the story of a street kid. I would be cool to see the story of a nomad or a corpo
@@DanielRodriguez-ge4dj exact. This was the purpose of my speech, perhaps a sequel to the other two types (nomadic and corporate). Do a continuous about David and Lucy's story about meaning. It would ruin a milestone pearl
The end of the series is one of the best endings I have seen for a series and at the same time one of the saddest. That feeling that Lucy has when she sees an illusion of David shows how much she loves him and at the same time the immense pain she feels knowing that she will never see him again. As if that weren't enough, you go and play that music... I'm sure that at least 90% of the people who saw this scene cried or at least felt the immense pain that the scene showed. I think that this series, despite not being very long, left a mark in the history of anime. This series showed that it was made with a lot of love and above all how much effort they made to create an incredible story unlike other series that do nothing but lengthen to make more money... Good for Cyberpunks Edgerunners, I hope all people enjoy it. They would see and appreciate what a true work of art is. ❤

the line "I'm aware that you are lying in the gutter, cause I did everything to be there by your side." breaks me every time. Instant shivers.
@Lotus 07 - Music I think the "lying in the gutter" is in a literal sense because david is lying in the gutter dead
@Lotus 07 - Music Seems like the person is talking about how even though they were together the other person managed to be at there lowest despise being with someone who is trying to help them out…
That’s my guess from the lyrics
@Lotus 07 - Music it's not that complex...

Your brain is mush and you only have a few month left to live. the song is FINALLY getting the recognition it deserves. Such a masterpiece
Lol
The show and the story is the only reason why it's going to be popular.

The fact Lucy can pull David out of cyberphycosis shows how much David loves Lucy 😔
He couldn't die before getting her to the moon.
That's the only cure for it.
Love.
That’s very deep. David already crossed the edge and should’ve been a lost cause, but because of Lucy, he died a human, not a monster.
That's accurate to the original tabletop too, being with a "partner" character gives you a humanity/empathy buff, and you can endure a higher strain from cybernetics.
this fact hurts me more
In Japan, moon represents love. A Japanese novelist who called Natsume Soseki had asked his students during English lesson how to say ‘I love you’ in Japanese and finally he said ‘ the moon is beautiful tonight’ means ‘I love you’.
The more you know
Isn't "I love you" in japanese supposed to be "(ai)shiteru" or "(dai)suki"?
Because "Kon'ya wa tsuki ga kireidesu" is a bit different. Or maybe it's supposed to also mean that as a metaphor?
「今夜は月が綺麗ですね。」= ‘the moon is beautiful tonight.’ It’s a beautiful sentence 🥹and when I see moon I realise love at once. The production is really great😭😭😭😭
Makes sense to me, in a lot of anime, the love interest has a moon behind them.

I fw this comment heavy
It's amazing how universal the language of emotions is. So many people all over the world sharing the same/similar feelings. It feels great to see/feel/remember that we can recognize, respect and cry over love. Even if it's a fictional story.
Also congratulations to the authors of the songs, check out their other music too, quite amazing and deserve the (probably unexpected) popularity surge.
This perception of 'universality of emotions' i had with Final Fantasy XIV too...its interesting to notice the same or similar reactions with an epic story. We can see the same thing with Lord of the Rings.

Still waiting for Hasbro and Takara to let Trigger do a Transformer anime, they have a lot of Transformer nerds on staff who'd be great to let run wild with it.
@@capitanulloa5728 Standalone stories per season could be good idea.
@@capitanulloa5728 I doesn't need to be a direct sequel to this particular story tho, they have a whole Universe to expand.
Get the Edgerunners radio mod and you can hear it more often :P
Its in the body heat radio playlist.
Same here when just walking around and I pass by a place and just start to hear it's I just gotta stop and lean against the wall to hear it better
started Cyberpunk after finishing the show, first time i heard this in the middle of a fight i just stopped dead.
Died a few seconds later
Rebecca 😢😢
I was listening to this song while playing online with my best friends. Now, when I listen to it, I get hit by the bittersweet feeling of not living close to them anymore, but we still play as if I never left my hometown.
Thanks to the series now I have two soul crushing reasons to cry to this beat.
The way David's dream was to see the dreams of the people he loved come true, like his mom and Lucy. The way Lucy wanted to protect the one she loved the only way she could,
and lets not forget Rebecca "aint no one l watch as close as l watch you" that really took my breath away
@@BigGuy653 l like your views be my anime friend
@@BigGuy653 None of them deserved their fate but I think that's the point of the story. Night City just keeps on taking. Even Lucy who got her dream still had to lose everything for it. Having any of them come back would ruin the impact of the story. I give cdpr and studio trigger a lot of credit for sticking the landing, even if it's a painful one.
@@BigGuy653 There wont be a second season man
You could say that quote was breathing.
The story is over though, who would even be in a sequel? Most people died
@@shadowfang1034 a sequel in the sense of a new story with new characters. Basically this was the story of a street kid. I would be cool to see the story of a nomad or a corpo
@@DanielRodriguez-ge4dj Hopefully Nomad since it was hardly shown.
@@DanielRodriguez-ge4dj the story about adam smasher seems to be interesting🗿
@@DanielRodriguez-ge4dj exact. This was the purpose of my speech, perhaps a sequel to the other two types (nomadic and corporate). Do a continuous about David and Lucy's story about meaning. It would ruin a milestone pearl
Songs really hit different when a story is put behind them.
It's amazing but now I feel very sad after watching it 😢
Cyberpunk Edgerunners is one of the best shows based on the game itself. The show was over, but it still left the impression on the audience for a long time. Not many show that make me feel hollow in my chest. Edgerunners is one of the lists.
Devil man crybaby
@xHollow It also has only the main girl left at the end, lmao
And unlike arcane, this is actually canon
Ever since launch this song was so special. Now it is the most emotional and impactful song of all time for me

💯% This. People are finally listening to this song with new PoVs and we've been listening since launch. Gotta appreciate the love.
I used to listen to it and get pumped driving around night city lol. Now I get depression.

Can we all take a moment to appreciate how CDPR gave us both a beautiful show, video game and sound track to enjoy?

Yes, yes and yes!
100% agree with this. They care about the fans
I literally can't describe how much I love cyberpunk, honestly the cyberpunk universe in general is my favorite of all time, like if I ever have kids their gonna know what cyberpunk is
