My mom had a nissan versa when i was in the 3rd grade. I am now in college and my mom gave her car away to my aunt and it still works like brand new. Still has great mpg and is really reliable.
This car sounds great, especially at this affordable price. I hope it sells a lot so Nissan can see people NEED this sort of car
The fact that this has heated seats blows me away
It’s a great car for what it is, and as long as you change the CVT fluid every 20-30 thousand miles it can last a lot longer.
I love this car. i want one. not the most realiable but reliable enough for me.
I learned to drive on a 1955 Plymouth Plaza, base model, stripped down, that cost $1800 in 1955, that's about $20,000 in today's dollars, the same price as for his Nissan. The 1955 Plymouth had a standard transmission, 3 on the tree, no power steering, no power brakes, no ac, no safety features, no nothing except radio (AM) and heater. This car is a bargain!
i drive a 2008 nissan versa hatchback with the 4 speed auto still drives good and still getting 32MPG
Compared to the another entry level model, the Mitsubishi Mirage, this car is far superior in size and styling for the money IMO. If I buy another car it will probably be one of these, but I like manual shift and I see that it's offered on the S model. My brother has had the top of the line Versa for 2yrs and it's been very reliable.
Is the touchscreen replaceable for like an aftermarket Am/Fm CD player stereo if you didn't want to keep the touchscreen? I'm an old school person I don't like the new technology in cars these days.
Removing keyless entry from 2024 s model is proof that Nissan wants to phase the s model out if not the whole Versa brand. Nobody is providing entry level cars for maximum profit. The Chinese will eat their lunch with under 20k cars. PS I am buying the 2022 model s automatic locks and windows s model manual soon my 2013 manual just hit 200k.
I had a nissan versa note, 2014 bought brand new i drove it for almost 7 years and loved the simplicity of it. I now have a ford fusion but the gas mileage is a bit disappointing and feels heavy.
The Land Rover steelies are an aluminum alloy rather than steel. I like this car because it has a regular transmission and a normal handbrake.
Great car.
I think many people will be happy with this vehicle. My understanding is that CTV transmissions break after 60,000 miles. This car will be riding past the transmission repair shop laughing. I would like to see even less technology. Lane assist is junk. It would be nice to have android compatible on that base.
It looks like a decent car. We actually need more inexpensive cars. The big problem with the Versa is the CVT. One needs to factor in the cost of getting it serviced every 30K or it could end up a $5K repair. Or, someone could buy the base model with the manual. Even factoring in maintaining the CVT and a possible replacement once it gets higher mileage, it’s still less than half the cost (even fully loaded) than the average new vehicle. And, some of those more expensive vehicles also have issues and expensive repairs. It’s probably a better car than a Kia or Hyundai in a similar price range. If one wants super reliability, they would likely need to spend $5K more for a Corolla, Civic, or Mazda 3. It makes sense if someone wants inexpensive transportation and is willing to factor in the cost of maintaining and possibly eventually replacing the CVT.
i had a2012 vers,it had the worst cvt it gave me problems at 19000 miles and the dealer tried screwing me with paying for repair because it was 1 month over 3yrs i raiser hell and the service mg came out a nd agreed to fix the problem it was,ent until 2 years later that nissan came out and extended the warr. after the class action suit
4:00 pretty sure that's the missing part from the front grille lol
I was wondering what that panel that hide that hole was for at the dealership.
I got a 2012 SV with 140,000 and running great! It was $14500 new. I have gone through alot of NS-2 and 1 filter change to keep that cvt going strong!
Will the cvt still blow up after 70k miles?
Nope. CVTs are great for tiny cars with tiny engines. They only “blow up” on larger cars because of being over torqued.
Its a good buy..get a 5 speed
Need apple car play because without Google map it is hard for new drivers to drive. But key is good because some car are coming with big keys and need to use it in the ignition.
It’s nice but it sucks that it doesn’t have control remote
Nice car… other than that cvt. Nice heated seats for you to sit in while you wait on your tow truck
🙃
Under $20k. It certainly looks like it. That said, people here need a cheap option for transportation that is economic to run and maintain. If it’s reliable and fuel efficient Nissan hit the nail on the head.
Its a good first or economy car in the 5 speed manual. I do wish nissan would do a coupe a step up from this with like 2-3k more msrp in a 6 speed with a 2.0l or something. A hot little naturally aspirated baby econmy nissan z front or rear drive
This is the first video I've seen of yours, and while it's OK and better than anything I could produce, and I mean this to be a kind message hoping it offers some genuine constructive feedback (no ill will intended): you'll definitely want to make efforts to vary your language a bit. You may not realize it, but you used "actual" or "actually" TWENTY times in this video, most noticeably there were two occasions where you said it twice within 2-3 seconds. No, I'm not so bored that I counted, it was just something that tickled me ear and then opened the transcript and Ctrl+F for "actual". I wish you success, and hope this might help you improve the quality if your content further!
Thank you! No harm whatsoever. That means alot. I did short form content for over a year, wrote scripts and everything. Now diving into long form and it's a whole different ball game. Only have done like 10 long form vidoes so still learning as I go on. I will watch what I say for future videos lol. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. Thank you!!!! 😊
Interesting comment. It reminds me of when I was starting to instruct in the AF. We young first-term airmen would have a Buddy in the crew counting for us how many times we would say “Uhh.”
if it comes with a manual transmission, i might get it. i have 4 cars; a modded V8, large SUV with V8, two "night out on the town" car and suv, an econo-car for work would be great
It does! You can order it with a manual for cheaper. I don't think any dealers will have it in stock but you can for sure order one.
I remember just like 6 years ago when these were $10,000 new
You mean 36 years ago.
@@afcgeo882 uh no the versa was for sale for $10,000 new in 2018 all the time. My mom and I both were thinking about buying one back then because of its price so I know this for certain.
@@kilsnacks In 2010 it was $9,990. In 2018 the MSRP was $11,900 for the base car, without destination.
Mind you, in 2010 none were actually sold in that very base trim. Those base prices are basically for fleets. You won’t find them on dealer lots.
It was also a VERY different Versa.
@@afcgeo882 yeah and the car was discounted all the time it was easy to find them for $10,000 in 2018 like I said I physically saw it with my eyes. I don’t care if the car is different now I’d rather buy a $10,000 car than a $19,000 one
@@kilsnacks You’re comparing dealer discounts to MSRP? What are you, 12? Go put your mommy on!
Depreciation!
All the money you save can be used to pay for repairs!
Its a bunch of cheap plastic....absolutely no different than any other vehicle. might as well get this one lol. If you're smart, you'll get this car with the manual trans
wtf is with those rims, and the hole in the front grill??
I got the lowest trim 2023 civic and got rear ended
Had to drive a versa as a rental for a few months
Boy getting back into my civic felt like getting into a luxury car lmao
Man if it was slightly windy, the versa would veer towards the side
And boy did that shake and rattle on the highway
Since they're clearly not trying to put any effort in to be the "cheapest new car" anymore, can they at least give you some hubcaps? $20,000 for that is a ripoff.
The base comes with hub caps. Some remove them to make it look sporty like having black rims. That's been going on for decades. I've seen this with others like Toyota, Honda, etc.
@@marvin7533 That's stupid, that's just a commuter car. Hubcaps protect the lugnuts and the hub flange end cap area from road grime which causes various corrosion issues. (That's why rims have the cap that cover that area and/or lugnuts with the chrome capped "sealed" lug nuts.) You may not think it's a problem now, but after 200,000+ miles you are definitely going to be able to tell the difference between that (assuming he keeps them off) and the other cars with the same mileage but had the hubcaps.
The reason why trucks "don't have them" is because they're meant for the dirt fields and in excessively harsh environments such as that, caps thingys like that end up doing a disservice and hold debris in which causes even more issues (which is why they "don't usually have that stuff). It is accepted that the "no hubcaps" are the lesser of two evils for professional equipment. Any caps they do have need to have a gasket and seals.
"Doing it to look sporty" while I'm passing those people in my grandma-mobile boaty sluggish panther body while they're criticizing me because "driving like that is dangerous" just makes them look like a bunch of dorks.
sorry but versas are only good for gas mileage. I had a 16 and it was the worst thing ever
I apologize if this causes PTSD, but why was it the worst thing ever? I'm curious to know if you had issues with it or if it was just bad to drive or both?
@@ryanstaley2200for one manual windows and doors, I couldn’t add a keyfob to it to unlock automatically and it has no alarm system and it’s a death trap for me
@@ryanstaley2200had to drive it for a rental
A gentle breeze will push your car to the side
Thing shakes and rattles like crazy
Generally feels unsafe on the road
Cramped
Everything felt extremely cheap
Like a toy car
For a little more on monthly payments honestly people should just get a Corolla
Or if you're a dumbass like me, spend way too much on the lowest end civic due to chip shortage and covid
@@ryanstaley2200also the braking was painful
It didn't feel like an assisted brake at all
@@ryanstaley2200 both
I wish the engine was at least a 1.8 - 2.0 with a 5 spd manual or 4 - 5 speed automatic trans, I for one don't care for the CVT automatics. I currently drive a 2011 Versa that has a 1.8 engine, 4 speed auto, manual door locks and windows, no fold down rear seat for extra trunk space, steal wheels w/ hub caps and almost 73K miles.
You can order it with a manual and instead of thinking about displacement, think about the power.
“Steal wheels.” Wow!
@@stevenpollard5171 Yup
Its cheap for a reason. The transmission on them are notoriously bad. Spend a couple thousand more and get a Corolla made in Japan.xd
My buddies corrolla cvt went at 30 thousand miles 3 months after 5 year warranty was up no thanks he paid 25 grand for it 5 years ago then 5 grand fir a transmission at 30 k
@@dennisthemenace8854 how did your buddy drive it? Was it assembled in the US or Japan, need some details

CVT disaster !!!
Nissan cvt's are better now. Stop saying old outdated things
@@1989pulsar Are there any specific articles that one should look for stating reasons their CVTs are better now? I'd imagine they learned from their mistakes, but I'm curious to know if any new reliability figures are out there.
@@1989pulsarstill jatco
@@ryanstaley2200Reliability figures are released every year and the CVTs were never a problem in sub-compacts.
You're talking about an issue from 2 decades ago.
Yuck
Don't turst Nissan is not good car because of transmission CVT don't turst,I loose my money by this fake car
Did you get the fluid changed when you supposed to?
“Coming into the rear” ….

What a ragged out honda or toyota for the same price with 100 k on it no warranty good luck with that bs been there done that got burned I will stick with my nissan pulling 45 mpg cheap insurance and lifetime engine and trans warranty
