"Everything goes when you're dead, everything empties from what was in your head".....genius lyrics, wonderful music, different times but never forgotten.
@@pauldunneskait indeed was. And it had been written explicitly about the hunger strikes - and the chorus was unchanged - but not only was the writer unhappy with the directness of the lyrics but the quality of them. So he gave the lyrics to his brother to improve. And he wrote them and said, in a 2000 or 2002 documentary which is on UA-cam (two docs similar lengths and titles but different) that he made each verse about a 'person vaguely in trouble' Since in fact they implied the initial lyrics weren't very good, perhaps even the scraps of paper can't be found. I took the liberty today of imagining what the lyrics (verses) may have been instead : Watching from his cold window Waiting and feeling and thinking his heart through No change of heart nor of mind Go through with this and they'll pay you in kind Watching it all waste away Each day expecting he might get a stay Deternined to change all that's wrong Hungry and tired and you're taking them on Everything goes when you're dead Everything empties from what was in your head No point in taking the dark Without fighting and freeing and making your mark
Hey there. Yes, it is Munich and it is...was the 30th of September 1981. Alabamahalle. And I missed it as I only was 8 at that time.....I still could cry, thinking about it... Greetings from Munich!!!
Classic track from The Undertones. Always fancied John O' Neill to write lots and lots of songs. That track is taken from a wonderful Undertones album.
One of a few songs that I can listen a lot of times in a day and never bored.
