They use to play this 24/7 on Vh1 Soul back in late 2004/early 2005. Miss that era so much in R&B, there was so much diversity. Christina Milian, Mya, Aaliyah, Brandy, Monica, Missy Elliott, J.Lo, JoJo, Craig David, Alicia Keys, Musiq, Whitney, Mariah Carey, Ameriie, Nivea, Blaque, TLC, Destiny's Child, Usher. God, what an explosive period. Nothin' but grown n sexy music laced with those hot ass beats. R&B/Hip-Hop fire.
Unreleased/Underrated R&B Grooves VH1 Soul was my shit !! I loved that channel !! I remember watching that Common song Testify video on there and thinking Taraji is a cold ass woman for playing that man like that !! 😂😂

What are they crazy this song is dope and so is the video, I felt this video could of used a part 2, I wanted to see her and the man she fell for get together❤
The industry was changing so fast in the early to mid 2000's. Mya, Amerie, Missy, Mario Winans, Donell Jones, Avant and so on got such a hard setback, If you from the East Coast you know what I'm talking about. The culture and class was unique to us. The lyrics, emotions and softness was just enough and in my opinion harder than any other music scene that came out after.
@Redd Stool. Yeah, my old 47yr old azz.... a lot of guys my age and older wanna reminisce about the 80's and 90's music or whatever but hell.... you can give me the 2000s and I'm GOOD. Whenever I think of Mya I think of "Silkk the Shocker" memba him? And whatever happened to that group "Ruff Endz?"
This is a Bossa nova sample that was used in rap songs. The sample used is one of my favorite songs, 1963 song "Saudade Vem Correndo". The original song is amazing for those who love jazz. The Pharcyde used it during that era when rappers were sampling old jazz songs. I'm a huge jazz person so I loved that era in rap.

About this particular track. Man, the musical arrangement from the buttery smooth vocals to the dynamics of the instruments are just top notch. I loved it from the strings at the intro all the way to the soft percussion at its closing. 1 of Mya's best for sure. Keep on discovering great music. 👍👍
The underwater scene was actually homage to Sade. She is the one that did it first with her song "No Ordinary Love." Aaliyah and Sade both got it from her.
i was high af watching a Cinderella Story for nostalgic purposes and I heard this in the background of the movie and now im here listening to this song for the 100th time
Can I explain that it took me nearly 15 years to find this song ... it haunted me that I couldnt find it because there was no Shazam back in 2003-04. I kept asking people I knew - I'd hum it. No one knew. I heard it somewhere and the melody I kept singing it and trying... Got here through a documentary about Mya on Empressive UA-cam Channel. I may have to repeat this song and many others for many many hours to make up for all the years her music has been kept hidden. I didn't realize how much of a fan I am of Mya's music because the industry has suppressed her voice for so long. It is wrong for any entity to have that much power over how we as fans can access and support the artists who deserve it most. Getting ready to pay some money where it is due. 👏👏👏❤💚💜💙💛💼🙌🙏
I did the same thing too but for the remix version (ft. Pharcyde). Lol it was difficult to explain the guy’s part. The most ugly, floppy, vague words of rapping I had to do so people would understand. The only thing I remembered was ‘head over heels’. I am glad I found both versions today morning. 😂
I can't relate, because I bought her albums back in like 2003. This song just randomly popped into my head today, so I quickly decided to watch the music video. I feel bad you had to wait so long, though! But I have had songs stuck in my head where I only knew the melody. But, usually I can still find the song. Although one time it took me several straight hours of going through videos and songs trying to find one, but I found it! lol
Yeah. You could just walk up in peoples apartment and take a bath, spray they cologne, touch ‘em when they not noticing and stuff. Now you get all arrested and labeled and get restraining orders and all kinds of extra most stuff. 😠
As much as I love this though, I have to say, if Mya was a guy I think this video would look more creepy than sexy (like when Timberlake stalked 'Britney' in Cry Me a River). It's kinda crazy how different things can come across from a female perspective.

So maybe they were just playing ...like role playing game.

@@IconicDollStudios When she put on that bath robe I wondered if he knew who she was? The last scene is her (back in her clothes) leaving the "crime scene" which basically means something must have happened between the bathrobe scene and her leaving in her clothes! Mya could stalk me all day! Her voice is so innocent! Still listening in 2020!
Looks like a 1969 Pontiac GTO.
One of the most underrated R&B singers of the late '90s and early '00s. Mya is beyond talented, at least she found major fame in Japan.....
My favorite Mya song. It was my wedding song❤❤
Gives me all the feels when I see my crush and I cant get near him but crave his touch and this song will always be a bop to me a classic
Hey! Why you didn’t make the last line rhyme???? 😠
@@hasannaomir.3037 Awww 😂
That early 2000s R&B sound was so dope and this song was underrated
One of the illest producers, J-Dilla, made this beat for The Pharcyde (“ Runnin’ “) first, back in the mid 90’s. ...R.I.P. King! ✊🏽
She’s still oh so pretty 😍
Can we talk about how beautifully this video is shot and how amazing the storyline is!
Among the best of that decade.
Extremely underrated video
Yes this video was beautifully done❤
@@IconicDollStudios When she put on that bath robe I wondered if he knew who she was?
The last scene is her (back in her clothes) leaving the "crime scene" which basically means something must have happened between the bathrobe scene and her leaving in her clothes!
Masterclass of story telling.
Sexy without being hoe!
Wow this video was shot in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I miss her songs. She can dance and sing well. So underrated.
I miss in tracks these days vibes that deliver soulful energy.
As time goes on the world gets more evil and colder towards the end of days that’s why the soul of music is lost. Sign of the times!
Outta nowhere it just happened and I ain’t mad at all because I’m falling.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

It's pretty bad if you don't even know what year it is? lol...
