Fear of Flying was THE best complete album in my opinion. I was in high school when it came out, and to this day it's still one of my favorite albums.
Yeah, I have it, it sounds like she's trying, but it's always hard for 90's artists to move into the new era of R&B (which is ultimately garbage). She's suffering from something I see all over the industry, older great artists who try to come back into the industry by sounding younger and modern, when they should stick to the era and style they know. Mary J. is still trying to release club anthems like she lives that life when she should just do a dope soul album, Usher has gone fully pop electric, Brandy had success with her new era transition, but she had to rely on Chris Brown's co-sign, and modern production to do that. Great artists from that era haven't gone anywhere, they just have no confidence in their brand, and want desperately to fit into what these new cats are doing, even though not many of their original fans are feeling this new shit.
Taron Webb you right...guess they trying to win the hearts of the younger crowd now...while the people who grew up with them have to hear the bubblegum shit. USHER use to be my dude...I think after Confessions it was down hill from there...Monica chillan...Brandy trying..you right that joint with chris brown is what hit it up for her. What do you think will take for them to gey that old school 90s feel? Toni braxton and baby face was able to do it on that album they dropped....which is dope as hell.
Babyface and Toni were so rare, because their voices are deeply rooted in their genre. They did try bullshit in their time though, remember Toni's album when she tried to get back on, "He wasn't man enough" when she was fucking with Cash Money and them, Babyface did a few tracks in the 90's that were questionable, but they found their way back. Shit just pissed me off, because these people's best albums are something they consider out of date, honestly, Mary, Brandy, Monica, Usher(the young artists of our era) need to realize that they don't have to sound like new artists to be dope. I didn't even like Mary's album with Dre. "Let's get it crunk..." To me, that shit was sad, and all I saw was an older lady trying to dance like she was young again. Something about our generation hates to grow old.
This song is not about the ex. It's about the guy. It's about the fact that he is still letting the ex be a part of his life. "Whatchu gonna do when she wants you back?"
Kier Lehman was correct to put this on Insecure's end credit during an episode where Lawrence was texting Issa when he had a fight with his girlfriend.
I like and love mya. This is one of my favorite songs by her. And she's so pretty. I live and miss her so much. This song came out 2000, I was 11 years old I haven't heard it in a while and I'm 34 years old now and it's 2023 and its October.
***** ill be honest. i dissagree with u BIG TIME!... stripping all the PR of the artists u named... down to talent.. Mya cant compare her voice to Beyonces... Mya cant compare the AURA and LIGHT and FIERCNESS that Britney Spears projected and oozed on stage with those outfits and numbers.. and Aaliyah, was SOOO PRETTY and had catchy songs... UNFORTANLY for Mya, she got handed the Brandy, Monica, Amerie and Latoya Jackson card... theyre avg. looking. mya is not beautiful.. she has a wierd face... she can dance, but NOT to the level of britney. Britney when she dances, is MUCH MORE than just a dance,,, its POWER. Myas voice is VERY WEAK doll like. pleasant but forgettable...and Aaliyah just had SWAGGER and was SOO DOWN TO EARTH!!! that being said, THIS SONG was a MAJOR MAJOR hit for the era.. BUT unfortantly, it got a bit lost with the OTHER EPIC MUSIC INDUSTRY CHANGING HITS that were released at the same time... MYAs issue was 2 things, lack of looks and lack of IMAGE.. she always portrayed this frizzy black hair ballet dancer... which didnt morph into woman until it was WAY too late. that was brandys issues too.. but i LOVE THIS SONG. it was so catchy.. and i STILL dont understadn her part in Lady Marmalade... i think that part shouldve gone to someone with more star power, more vocals, more looks..
James Hall u kno what im saying.. she looks a bit slow in the face, witht hem big ears and nose, and small mouth and wierd shape eyes... but gives off a cute little girl look...
J StarMoore Heh, I've just had a good long stare at her face but I don't see what you see. She just looks like a very pretty girl. Her features seem all in proportion, nothing hints towards being 'a bit slow in the face' (haha) as you put it. Of course, its all subjective.
This was one of the staple pop songs in the Y2K era. Mya was that girl for a quick minute. She was definitely overshadowed by other pop acts like the Britney’s, Pink, Christina’s, Destiny’s Child and even Aaliyah but she still delivered some timeless bops. Mya is legendary.

Love Mya's voice!!
This will forever be my jam
After 20 years, I'm still falling in love with Mya. The hottest R&B Singer all time. And she is still rocking.
Mya hasn't aged a bit - still as beautiful as ever!!!
2024...never gets old ❤❤
This song had TRL in a CHOKE HOLD. Mya was really that girl in the 2000s
Ashline, Montana, sarah...there were a few of them 😂

This song is not about the ex.
It's about the guy.
It's about the fact that he is still letting the ex be a part of his life.
"Whatchu gonna do when she wants you back?"
she turned tricks after they broke up back then in 96
@A W ultimate betrayal
Kier Lehman was correct to put this on Insecure's end credit during an episode where Lawrence was texting Issa when he had a fight with his girlfriend.

She was only 19 when this song came out
Mya was and still is one of the best female dancers. Oh I would love to meet her someday.

One of my favorites for real i love Mya
THIS WAS THE SHIT!!!! The choreography in this video was EVERYTHING! Mya is a classically trained dancer and she killed it!
I like and love mya. This is one of my favorite songs by her. And she's so pretty. I live and miss her so much. This song came out 2000, I was 11 years old I haven't heard it in a while and I'm 34 years old now and it's 2023 and its October.
Why can't we have songs like this in 2019. This generation sucks along wit the beats.
I agree!!
take off ur rose colored glasses
When people actually had talent and not someone off the street or a person who just makes stuip music.
It’s year 2019, every new popular song is all rap, I honestly don’t like rap that much
Jen u gonna have to deal with it old head it ain’t gonna change 😂😂😂🤫
Mya has a magical voice
N dancing with body
Omggggggg !! This song!!! Should've thrown her into superstardom!!!! It's an amazing!!
***** i think Myas pretty, but ugly in her face. great bod! and no comparison to brit?
James Hall u kno what im saying.. she looks a bit slow in the face, witht hem big ears and nose, and small mouth and wierd shape eyes... but gives off a cute little girl look...
J StarMoore Heh, I've just had a good long stare at her face but I don't see what you see. She just looks like a very pretty girl. Her features seem all in proportion, nothing hints towards being 'a bit slow in the face' (haha) as you put it. Of course, its all subjective.
James Hall i guess i picked up on it in certain takes.. not pics.
I miss this kind of music, very 90s and early 2000
"I seen the photo she ain't even all that"

Mya left the industry and went independent. Has her own label. Is on her own time. I’m glad, so so glad for her. She didn’t settle for what they offered her. She’s rare and she’s to be admired! ❤❤❤❤
