Visiting Japanese macaque monkeys atop Mount Arashiyama. This is a once in a lifetime experience! Visiting monkeys in the wild. This troop of monkeys visits the visitors center daily for treats from the human visitors. Peanuts and apple slices are available to purchase and feed to these very friendly macaques. There are no cages for the animals, there is a house with caged windows for the people when feeding the monkeys, but otherwise it is a very open experience just you and the macaques.
