Yeah, even the word “obey” gives me the ick. I’ve never met any parent that wasn’t abusive or very, very strict, say “obey” when talking about their children.
I was that so-called rebel child. I'm not some anarchist or anything, but even now, that "obey" word gives me the ick. I wouldn't even use that description for a dog, yet alone a kid. Even my own mom, during cartoons we'd watch when a kid character did something their parents told them to do in earnest, she'd point out saying, "look at how OBEIDENT he/she is." Even at 5 years old, that rubbed me the wrong way, and I was that kid was was attentive and just listened to my parents naturally, because I figured they knew what they were talking about, because I knew they weren't complete idiots. In fact, I heard that "obedient" word just as many times as I heard the word, "ungrateful." Of course. Funny enough, I wasn't even the picture-rebel kid. I was a band/video game/art nerd who got straight A's and was extremely quiet. XD (I just was an obvious atheist who clearly wasn't mentally succumbing to the indoctrination bait and I liked spooky Goth stuff that was called "demonic.") So even if you are the picture perfect child, there is ALWAYS something they can pick at and wear you down till there's nothing left. And they'd still do it. They will even tell you it is their responsibility to "train you up in the truth." So they know damn well they're being overbearing...but the true burden is on THEM for having SUCH a daunting task for being an utter prick for 18+ years. Yeah, and they wonder why some of us don't call.
Mom & Dad: "Sorry Caleb, lets go outside and gather up some stones. You know what happens to children that dishonor their parents and do not obey!" Caleb should have told his dad to turn a light on and watch where he walks. Oh well...guess it was part of Jehovah's plan. Oh, if mom is upset over a warrior wizard doll just wait until Caleb discovers Dungeons & Dragons. I am so glad my parents were not religious buscuitheads.
Tbh you know it’s bad when I think she’s more progressive than other moms in these propaganda shows. In the Mormon one, the mom has that soft spoken voice that you only hear from “submissive” women in weird cults like this. I think it’s called the fundie voice. Idk I didn’t grow up in this environment. At least in this cartoon the dad helps the son clean up instead of being like “oh you messed up the floor, imma beat your ass”… but yeah this cartoon shouldn’t be shown to kids. They’re gonna feel guilty over the dumbest things.
I was having a Bible study and the sister slipped and told me to obey her!!! That was a big red flag I'm like something is not right here!!! I'm glad they are producing these videos so that they can show the world who they really are and there are so many slips that you are pointing out, thank you

Every time I wonder how do adults get into this. Kids don't really have a choice if they're raised in this way, but how do adults not realise? Or are they just okay with all of this? Just how
It remains a mystery to me how there are people in this day and age who fall for this cult despite all the known stories of abuse and social control coming from that cult.
@@TheHazardousGuylet me explain to you how JW rules work. If she'd let him play with the toy someone from the church would report him to a church head and she'd be ostracized for being a "worldly" mom. If Caleb had stubbornly kept the toy his mom would report him to the church leaders, and HE'D be ostracized for having "worldly friends". If he kept those friends they'd ban all the JWs from talking to him ever, and since his family and most of his social circle are JW, he'd be very lonely. So he stays unhappy so they don't cut him off.
Also what's with this trend in these animations of the parent guilt-tripping the kid into doing something and then saying "I'm so proud of you", talk about manipulation
Exactly! I just hate how the level of manipulation Caleb's mom is forcing upon him. It just seems that the entirety of this show is centered around absolute obedience to God, which is the thing that gets me uneasy. God does not demand absolute obedience from us. God loved the world so much that he sent his one and only son to die on the cross. And to those who believe in him, to those who desire to have a relationship with him will be saved.

Lol same 😂 hello fellow Christian! As one myself, I’m glad I’m not a Jw honestly, I feel bad for kids in this religion. But I can’t stop watching these stupid cartoons for some reason 🤣
Help, I just realized that me and my younger sibling (raised mormon, I'm no longer active) used to watch the first half of this episode on Sundays and we would make fun of how badly it was made. We didn't even know JWs existed, the only churchs we'd heard of were Mormon, Catholic, and Baptist.😭
To be fair, marbles were probably meant for the kids' bedroom, or else the *corner* of the living room. I'll give you one thing: it *doesn't* look like Mom ever clarified where marbles were or weren't allowed.
This kind of abuse is especially cruel because those kids have no counter to it. They are taught not to question, not to doubt, but to just blindly obey. So when they are faced with unfair commands, they often don't have either the courage or the argumentational experience to answer.
Wow, flashbacks to childhood! I used to like reading Terry Pratchett books as a teenager. My Mam tried to tell me they contained magic and I shouldn't really be reading them because they had wizards and witches in (some) of them. I was getting into my older teens so I asked my Mam if she'd prefer I read the bible. Yes she said. I said well that's out as well cause there's a witch in it, a guy that was transmuting neutral substances into solutions and people talking to snakes.
Every damn time that poor little boy is having fun, that appalling mother spoils it for him! Of course he won't grow up to hate her, because Watchtower will never let him grow up for a start, but if this were real life, she'll fully deserve the smack in the mouth he'll eventually gives her! GO CALEB!😂😂😂
All fun is not good fun. Satan the Devil misleads people by taking something so bad and making it look good. Satan's the master deceiver. Look at how he was able to deceive Eve into disobeying God. (Genesis 3:1-6, 13; 2Corinthians 11:3) Satan uses forms of activities and entertainment to mislead and deceive people, and this includes certain cartoons. The toy that Caleb was playing with may have seen innocent on the surface, but the toy was related to spiritism which God condemns. (Deuteronomy 18:10-12) It's important for parents to teach their children from an early age about what is acceptable and unacceptable to Jehovah.--Proverbs 22:6.
Yes God is supernatural and all powerful . But what mom doesn't understand the difference between real demonic magic vs entertainment make-believe . One is evil and the other one is just for fun .

You know what else was once considered witchcraft? Humans flying, yet now we have areo crafts that allow us to fly. Communication across the ocean that doesn't take months at a time, yet now with the web we can communicate across the oceans instantly.
The Moon herself invented magic. And the other made the sub-categories. Upon dropping magic on the Earth, many people used it, with the first academies being founded. As an example, pyromancy is widely used in hell (controlled by Inferno, Satan never existed btw).
My parents used to put this to me as a kid (They didnt know it was cult propaganda), and the magic part... even as a kid I knew something was wrong with that, I tried explaining that to my parents but they didn't really pay attention and I didnt know how to explain that as a kid.

Actually, his classmates do kinda bully him in the episode where his dad (poorly) explains why JWs don't celebrate Bdays Even in this cartoon he is seen playing by himself pretending that He's having fun... when we all know the sad reality....

Every other branch of Christianity, Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox just say “God.” It’s just Jehovah’s Witnesses who say “Jehovah”, even though the original word was also “Yahweh”, but the Hebrew was altered and the word was made more Germanic.
@@CoolBreeze250 it isn’t though. The Jewish scriptures had voweless version of Gods name them. The intention was to avoid saying the divine name since it was too holy to be said. Later they added the vowels for Adonai to YHWH. Resulting in something like YaHoWa (inaccurate obviously due to this not being Hebrew I’m writing in). This was done to remind people to say Adonai and not the divine name. Eventually this was transliterated over time to become Jehovah. So saying Jehovah is literally saying the wrong name that Jewish people wrote down to avoid saying the true name God as he revealed it. It’s the one word that specifically isn’t God’s name intended to remind people not say the divine name.
It's so odd too, because instead of pulling "new light" out of their butts and say "our, bad, Big J came down to tell us his REAL name is YAHWEH," REJOICE," they just stick to their gnus. At least get the name right.
We do not agree that God doesn’t exist. What we agree on is religion and spirituality should not be used to control and manipulate others. Having said that, JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis wrote stories about magic and wizardry. Yet, JRR Tolkien was RCC and CS Lewis was Christian. Sadly, I somehow think that the mother would not allow Caleb to read the Lord of the Rings or Chronicles of Narnia 😔😔😔
It's funny, because the Narnia series was specifically to apply and promote faith in Christianity, even though it also promotes magic. While I do believe magic is not necessarily considered evil, there is a reason that people may believe "God" himself does not like magic. With acquiring magic, humans would be equivalent to God and use such powers for evil or perhaps more, or they would lack faith in God, now that magic can help them instead. This was the reason Adam and Eve were banished from the garden --- they were just as intelligent and knowing as God, rather than their blank slate like before. But concluding this, it doesn't seem to be that magic itself is the problem, people believe it is the problem because it allows others to lose their faith. That doesn't mean magic itself is what makes Christians go nuts, but the thought of being against the idea of being below God that gets them to rat out.
This has triggered me! Thank God I didn't have Caleb and Sophia but you have a point how JW behave with children, I was shocked up with an elder's wife for the district convention, apparently I offended her when I had innocently asked her if I could have a sleepover with my best friend from the assembly, she was severely innocensed, we had already gone to bed, she woke me up at 2 a.m. to read scripture to punish me for why I shouldn't have a sleep over, I had to read from 2-6 a.m. despite we had to go to the convention all day, and no good manners for the sister whom we have shared the room with keep her up as well. I was exhausted cuz of her, even though I was a baptized witness and I was 15 yrs old, cuz my legal guardian lied to tell her to discipline me when she had the chance I was an orphan my mother just had died, made my day at the convention miserable and I had to tell my best friend I couldn't sleep over but this woman taught me she was mentally unstable. I definitely never wanted to be around this woman again, especially what happened after that, my guardian complained once again cuz of her jealousy cuz her daughter wasn't invited to go on vacation with me to visit this sister in DC cuz she couldn't have her daughter to spy on me so she had this elder's wife to call me long distance to verbally abuse me and threatened me saying she was gonna come to airport to kick my butt in, but heard a click, I realized her elder husband heard her, I had to deflect this woman and explain to the sister I was visiting, I was very scared to go home, apparently the elder barred his wife from accompany my guardian when picking me up from airport. I realized the elder was displeased with her knowingly since I was a passenger that I could raise alarm with the airline about her not to allow her, so my guardian did pick me up and I was relived that she wasn't there was told by my guardian whom was disappointed that she couldn't make it. After that, she didn't show her face at our conventions with our deaf group cuz she was interpreter for deaf, nor did she ever apologize to me for her behavior, apparently her husband was appalled listening to her talk with me and barred her from association with my legal guardian. My own mother wouldn't used the Bible to drill it in me which is overboard but there are plenty of witnesses that do, really causing people to become mentally unstable. I feel sorry for the children now cuz using these videos to inflict mental/physical abuse on children, I'm just glad these videos weren't around while I was growing up but certainly I suffered phyiscal abuse at the hand by my mother too unfortunately. whenever my guardian felt like to verbally abuse me she would lie to others to get others to pull me aside to mentally abuse me every chance she got. I cringe at these videos of Sophia and Caleb. Wait, but it's OK to idol worship these two cartoons and have dolls of them. Cuz they make WT money.
I'm shocked I remember both of them. 6:26 you know, I would laugh out of embarassment at this scene, knowing Caleb's a$$ is gonna get whooped so hard, and still afraid that some day it's gonna happen to me. 14:46 🤣 yoi had me rolling with the caption
I love the caption at 7:20, because that's a fact, it's Satan who's personally taking charge of corrupting kids, if you don't follow, you follow Satan, if you don't believe, you became a Satan's puppet... As shown at 13:25 explicitly... And people underestimate the "power" of being aligned with "Satan" so often as a kid... It explains a lot of disastrous exit of later teenagers, leaving because they can't handle anymore the life, but still believing, and as they became Satan's creature and they'll be grilled at Armageddon, there's nothing more to lose.
I like to think of this show as a bisexual girl and a depressed son being impressionable and going through the trauma of their abusive parents ;-; Notice how in Caleb's imagination, he wasn't worried for his dad about him getting injured, he was terrified that he'd be hurt. And how he imagines that if his mom is upset about the floor being dirty, she'll have a mental breakdown. These parents CLEARLY aren't stable. In the homophobic episode, Sophia seems perfectly ok with the lesbian couple, she seems to agree with the teacher at first about how gender doesn't matter until she was minipulated by her mother.
3:24 “when we tell you to do something it’s because we care for you even though we’re actively forcing you to obey someone we can’t accurately prove exists in real life and we’re making sure you don’t have friends that aren’t part of our cul- I mean religion” that’s what I heard, anyone else hear that too?
I’m only familiar with this series because my CATHOLIC elementary school showed this to us Kindergarteners, probably not aware that it was JW. It took until I showed the series to my mom in which she told me that it wasn’t Catholic (I was unfamiliar with other Christian denominations as a four year old)
I’m a Christian myself but I don’t understand why we can’t enjoy d&d and Halloween? I know that they’re tied to pagan beliefs but we know that it isn’t real so why can’t we just enjoy?
As an exmormon I just wanted to say it is scary how similar these two cults are. Family Worship happens with Mormons too. We call it Family Home Evening
I remember watching the Wizard toy episode as a JW kid and it really changed the way I think when I was younger. As someone who didn’t know their sexuality yet I loved playing with magical princess dolls. Specially my Elsa doll that I had asked for because Frozen had came out that year. Unfortunately because Elsa was technically a magical wizard I thought I had to throw the toy away that my grandmother bought for me because I thought I was disobeying Jehovah. Looking back at these cartoons made me realize how insane it was to tell a child they couldn’t enjoy toys they liked simply because they were attached to something “demonic.” To this day I still remember throwing out a lot of my girly toys because I was ashamed of who I was and how I was made to feel weird for having pony’s and Barbie’s and such. I regret the decisions I made and wished that I was more confident in myself at the time. I don’t blame my mother for any of this because although she did introduce me to JW culture she also separated me from it because she didn’t want me to feel belittled in an oppressive society. Also my mother grew up in a Christian household and was baptized so I’m assuming being a Jehovah’s Witness was never in the cards for her or me.
"Children,be obeident to your parents,as in the Lord, for this is right"...I grew up in a Southern Baptist household..man,did our mom drill that into our heads, lol.

the line delivery of the mom when she said "i'm so proud of you for obeying" gave me massive control freak vibes from her
It scares me so much. Sometimes control freaks slip confessions out of their mouths. If Caleb is a "rebel" child, he'll catch that immediately.
Yeah, even the word “obey” gives me the ick. I’ve never met any parent that wasn’t abusive or very, very strict, say “obey” when talking about their children.
She touches him probably
These videos would make a good Sci-Fi/Horror series with just a few tweaks.
XD (I just was an obvious atheist who clearly wasn't mentally succumbing to the indoctrination bait and I liked spooky Goth stuff that was called "demonic.")
So even if you are the picture perfect child, there is ALWAYS something they can pick at and wear you down till there's nothing left.
Every other branch of Christianity, Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox just say “God.” It’s just Jehovah’s Witnesses who say “Jehovah”, even though the original word was also “Yahweh”, but the Hebrew was altered and the word was made more Germanic.
Jehovah is just the English rendition of God's name.

Did they intensionally animate the mum to look so mean? It's so weird.
This dad's accent make him look like a tf2 character
at 5:57 , thats the greatest thing i ever saw in a long time, you go Ceylib !!!
Caleb: *breathes*
His parents: WHY YOU LITTLE- KEKGCIJSBENTVKCJDJBT YOU ARE DISOBEYING US/JEHOVAH, ETC.
10:26 Her facial expression honestly seems to say "I wish I didn't have to do this".
I like to think of this show as a bisexual girl and a depressed son being impressionable and going through the trauma of their abusive parents ;-;
Notice how in Caleb's imagination, he wasn't worried for his dad about him getting injured, he was terrified that he'd be hurt.
Sophia probably isn't lesbian but she definitely isn't homophobic, her parents are.
Im not sure if sophia is into girls there really is'nt anything to prove that but she definitely is'nt homophobic
The real fan theory.
@@System_Error404Xwatch the episode when she make an older friend, she is looking at the girl like she is in love...
@@Vanished_on_it i have seen that one but that was after i made the comment
3:24 “when we tell you to do something it’s because we care for you even though we’re actively forcing you to obey someone we can’t accurately prove exists in real life and we’re making sure you don’t have friends that aren’t part of our cul- I mean religion” that’s what I heard, anyone else hear that too?
Also at 13:46 her face shows just how bad a mom she really is 🤦🏻♀️
I’m only familiar with this series because my CATHOLIC elementary school showed this to us Kindergarteners, probably not aware that it was JW. It took until I showed the series to my mom in which she told me that it wasn’t Catholic (I was unfamiliar with other Christian denominations as a four year old)
'You see? That was a lot of hard work. But don't worry, when you grow up your wife will do it for you.'
6:35 - 6:40 Yeah, Caleb's parents seem unrealistically patient for members of a nightmarishly authoritarian faith.
The dad isn't just Jehovah's witness, he's Gymbro witness
Jehovah's fitness

I’m a Christian myself but I don’t understand why we can’t enjoy d&d and Halloween? I know that they’re tied to pagan beliefs but we know that it isn’t real so why can’t we just enjoy?
Also I really hope that I don’t get cancel culture by christians

They seem like the parents that would hit their child. The moms face is just unholy
The mom’s expressions in the second one was honestly sickening to me. Pure indoctrination. 13:39 was just a perfect example of this.
Leave spar-lock the warrior wizard alone Caleb’s mom, he’s but a plastic wizard who shall cast thy spell of “BOLT OF LIGHTNING!!”
Moses and Aaron were literally wizards
So was Jesus. He did lots of magic tricks

Off topic: I swear, I’m not even religious, but I can’t take these seriously after watching Hazbin Hotel and think of *that* Adam whenever JW talks about him😭
That snake holding sparlock was the most hilarious thing I have ever seen in one of these cult cartoons
