Being a volunteer at another accredited zoo, I like to refer to the Species Survival Plans (SSP) as z-Harmony because it basically works like a dating website. While the SSPs can recommend the pairings and the zoos go along with the recommendations, they have absolutely no control over whether the breeding will take place or whether the animals will have babies.
0:06 I love the fact the zoo uses its resources to treat native wild animals aside from its normal zoo job. The species of the land down under is so different from most of the world it would be horrible to loose one of them so our children's grand children can only read about them and look at pictures. Hence the dodo birds. I would like to see a tazemanian devi in the Kansas City zoo in the USA its special to see creatures from other parts of the world. I thought they only hung out with buggs bunny.
