Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday, among other names, is the day during Holy Week that commemorates the Washing of the Feet (Maundy) and Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles, as described in the canonical gospels
It is the fifth day of Holy Week, preceded by Holy Wednesday (Spy Wednesday) and followed by Good Friday. "Maundy" comes from the Latin word mandatum, or commandment, reflecting Jesus' words "I give you a new commandment." The date of the day will vary according to whether the Gregorian calendar or the Julian calendar is used. Eastern churches generally use the Julian system.
Maundy Thursday initiates the Paschal Triduum, the period which commemorates the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus. This period includes Good Friday and Holy Saturday, and ends on the evening of Easter Sunday. The Mass of the Lord's Supper or service of worship is normally celebrated in the evening, when Friday begins according to Jewish tradition, as the Last Supper was held on the feast of Passover, according to the three Synoptic Gospels.

In 2005 I was privileged to share in a Eucharist in this place with about 40 other people. It was only later we discovered that it was unusual at that time for permission to be given to groups the celebrate the liturgy in the Upper Room.

May the suffering of Jesus console the suffering of the Palestinian people. That their suffering may be offered up to God. The persecuted will receive justice through Jesus Christ.
There are Palestinian Christians and Palestinian Muslims. The Muslims reject the covenant of Jesus as Messiah from the line of David. They also reject that God instructed Jeremiah to divide up the promised land amongst the 12 tribes that God had given His people of Israel.
And may He console the suffering of Israeli people who are still held hostage by hamas and forgotten by the world. And may He console the suffering of the Christian in Nigeria, Amhara, Armenia, and any other part of the world who were FORGOTTEN by the world
