Ok I just baked this. This is it. Easy delicious chocolatey chocolate cake that does melt in the mouth omg. So good warm out of the oven. I like the sour cream frosting too but here are some things I did and would do better next time : I didn't have milk chocolate or regular cocoa powder. I only had dark chocolate and dark cocoa powder. So here's what I did to adjust : 5 tbsp instead of 8 tbsp cocoa since mine is dark. Turned out perfectly chocolatey without being bitter. Added half a tsp instant coffee to the warm water to enhance chocolate flavour. Perf. Cut down sugar to 100g and it's perfect for me since I don't like super sweet stuff. Yes even with dark chocolate and bitter coffee and all, 100g was enough sweetness for me so if you like less sugar do try, if it goes wrong you can always make the frosting sweeter or add syrup to cake. I did bake time 30 mins but it was still overshot a little bit since I used a spread out 8 in pan I didn't have smaller but cake was still thick enough, fluffed well. Next time I'd start checking for done from 25 mins to ensure all the moisture remains in the final cake, maybe it should only take 2 mins less or so since it was still very moist; this is the most moist choco cake I've tried, so amazing. For frosting I melted dark choco and some sweet white choco with sour cream and added 10g more sugar on top it's still a bit sour next time I'd reduce sour cream a little bit. Maybe 1: 1.5 ratio instead of 1: 1.36 ratio. The sour frosting still balances out well enough with the cake though and it's definitely still tasty and sweet-ish. I didn't use parchment /baking sheet and my cake fell apart during transfer but that's on me, should've used parchment paper plus not transfer while so warm, but I couldn't wait haha. That's all from me. I'll surely bake it again this cake is just superb.

Sugar actually goes with the wet ingredients!! Thats what my grandma always taught me, but that cake looks bomb asf ❤
Did she say why
@@matsucarried587it dissolves faster and distributes well, decreases overall mixing time.

If this isn’t made at my wedding i will refuse to get married-

@@n0-b0dy if you eat the cake at a wedding then it is by definition a wedding cake

bake for 30-40 mins at 300 degrees fahrenheit
I miss this life so much
sour cream for icing?
Its actually quite common! It just adds a bit of a different taste but it doesn't taste like sour cream when you consider that you are adding other ingredients such as sugar and vanilla.
yup!
Her making a cake in like 30 minutes
Me: makes a mug cake in 5 minutes 😎
It was actually amazing! Tried it with a different frosting méthode but ut was moist and delicious 🤤. Gonna do it again today

One suggestion here : Instead of using warm water you can also use black coffee
Like a teaspoon mixed with water?
@@joannedmello6204 Yes, you can add one tea spoon of instant coffee to a cup of warm water and add it to the batter.
@@samruddhias ok cool thanks! I just saw your comment :) could you tell me whether you baked it in an 8 inch square tin as used in the video?
@@joannedmello6204 Yes I did everything according to the video but do check the cake 5 mins before the timer goes off.
This chocolate cake recipe is SO GOOD...DRINK MILK WITH IT.
Chocolate Cake & Milk are a perfect combo.
(Seriously. This vid is a winner for making your viewers mouthwatering on your chocolate cake recipe.)
Hi, thanks for the recipe. I tried to make this cake yesterday, but the cake got too dark and it didn't have a good smell and I didn't like it so much, and for the cream at the top of the cake, when I added sour cream, instead of getting a lighter color, it just got darker, but I'm sure I followed properly all the instructions...thanks by the way
She put those ingredients in faster than I can blink 💀
Wow!! It's soo simple and taste great❤
Can you please put the measurements in cups! I cant make any of your recipes cause I don't have a gram scale
Google it, there is a conversion chart
Ingredients
125g Plain Flour
200g Caster Sugar
3/4 TSP Baking Powder
1/2 TSP Bicarbonate of Soda
60ml Vegetable Oil
125ml Warm Water
Bake it in the Oven (30-40mins)
125g Sour Cream
Now Cut in slice and
Enjoy and take a taste bite 🫦 😋
The egg, milk and salt is missing.
It's super yummy
You know a cake will be sweet when there's more sugar than flour in the mix
The more sugar is to take out the bitterness from the cocoa powder, not just to sweeten the cake.
Sour cream sounds gross with milk chocolate no offense
Looks delicious Eloise
Ok but why is the “fork” a threek?
This cake does look good though :)
It's called a cake fork and is common in the UK
Omg I was hoping someone else noticed the threek!
Your recipes inspire me to become a pastry chef
Guys for those who like less sweet stuff- try using 100g sugar instead of 200g sugar. I did it and for me it turned out pleasantly sweet even with using dark cocoa powder and adding coffee to the warm water.
Nice one❤
And this is the best explaination I've ever heard ❤
Tried and definitely loved it. ❤
i was craving chocolate cake sm and i came across your video and took it as a sign and made it!! it turned out so good and it was so delicious
