About the tester
Jonathon Simonetti - Age: 27 // Years Riding MTB: 18 // Height: 6’4” (1.93m) // Weight: 215-pounds (97.5kg)
Jonny started mountain biking in 2003 after taking a trip to Northstar and discovering how much more could be ridden than on a BMX bike. He began racing at age 12 and raced for about 12 years until ultimately deciding the pressure of racing wasn’t the best fit for having fun on a bike. After a couple years working in the industry and developing a deeper understanding of bikes inside and out, he has an affinity for pairing his riding ability with the analysis of bikes and breaking down what makes them work well. He rides for fun now but still finds the most enjoyment out of going fast with friends.

@vitalmtb was the first segment filmed at sunrise resort? Looks familiar
@@MP-MTB yep
This is an EVO ELITE ALLOY.
What about the EVO COMP ALLOY?
I just purchased this bike yesterday in the Elite build. All I can say is holy shit!! This thing is unreal. It climbs so well and descends with scalpel like precision. It is poppy and playful. I rode a Trek Slash 9.7 before this bike for a couple years and all I can say is I won't be looking back. The most fun I've had on a bike ever.
My frame just arrived in the mail yesterday. Your comment is pumping me up for the build!
Get mine elite alloy hopefully end of May, very rare here in Germany. No comp models, no frames...
I currently have a 2021 Trek Slash. How are you liking the Evo after a few months? I’m super close to a purchase. And what size slash did you ride and what size Evo did you get?
How is your long term feedback now? Is it still strong an fun? I only want to hear positive vibes... Still 8 weeks to get mine 💪
Specialized read my mind on releasing this aluminum version, sick vid and sick bike!
I predict a big resurgence of aluminum bikes that can actually do what this bike can do.....I will say carbon framed bikes are great for bike companies to double their profits and keep the lights on, but in all actuality, there is no performance gain (just ask Ducati why they abandoned their all-carbon framed MotoGP bike) - it's just different.
@@jokermtb saving weight is always a boost in performance.
@@joerobley8469 modern Aluminium isn’t necessarily more heavy than carbon.
This is my rig and I freaking love it! I dig the quiet hub. All I hear is the ground and my bike working. Pedals just fine but loves the gravity!
So cool to see this filmed in AZ. and even filmed up in sunrise park which is a fun place to ride here in AZ
Wow i had no idea haha! im looking at this bike and I just went to sunrise not too long ago! you can watch some of me riding on my shorts. New to mtb and youtube :)
I'm stoked about the Al version getting SWAT!
I have a more pedal friendly epic Evo for where I live but I’m so tempted to sell it and get one of these. Just so badass!
Just got this bike 2 days ago. Defo recommended
Sunrise and Somo in 1 edit, nice.
Im so excited! I live in the phoenix are and my bike was stolen on saturday. Tomorrow im going to pick this guy up from a bike shop!
This maybe my dream bike
The video could also be titled "A ride with a untuned fork versus A ride with a fully tuned fork'. (Great riding! Give that man a free lunch)
Is this the death of Status? Might be to expensive for ordinarily folks could be the best Alloy bike out there. Top spec to close to Carbon.
curious to know the geo settings you guys had the bike at during filming?
Keep practicing. You’ll get the hang of it.
It's already sold out on the website? Or just not yet in stock?
Bikes are almost 2 years sold out 😆
HURRAY, its NOT an Ebike!! thx for posting a ppl powered bike 🤘🤘
As far as I know, ebikes can't move on their own. Someone has to pedal them.
you must not come around here often.
@@skullsroad3642 As far as I know, ebikes have a motor on them. Most vehicles can't move on their own. Pedaling is like turning the ignition switch.
Super fast bike and rider, no carbon needed !
Would love for someone to a video exactly like this on a EVO COMP ALLOY.
I cannot unsee that front brake housing.....
Seems like it's more of an enduro than an All Mountain bike. Does anyone have a glue how the Enduro and the Evo Alloy compare?
You can see this on the website of Specialized they made a visualisation of the Progression of the evo and the enduro
Missed a bike presentation.
Wasn’t there a full review of the Evo Alloy not too long ago by Vital? If so I can’t find it anywhere
Maybe my next bike. S2 or S3? 5’7 height. 5’10 reach.

I disagree - yes for enduro/downhill the weight doesn't matter much at all, but for xc and even trail riding with a lot of climbing, the weight reduction of carbon really makes a difference. I climb a lot and if my bike weighed 5lbs extra it would definitely be significant.
Nice. Which South Mountain trails did you go down?
Do you know if there will be a alloy frame only version for the UK?
Probably it’s coming to Australia so most likely
I’m thinking this for $3500 or a yeti sb160 for $4800. What do you think
My XL Elite Alloy is 34.8/tubeless
I want one so badly
Sold Out everywhere in 2021?
Some one pay this guy to ride!!
Looks like southern AZ?
Anyone ever see a test ride where the rider didn't like the bike?

@@vitalmtb That's so 2016..show me something from 2021.
@@TonyFernandezjkdjedi maybe there's just a bunch of amazing bikes to ride
@@mac001texas We're living in good times my friend! Tech is amazing right now.
IMHO, I think it's hard to buy a really bad bike now. (if you can get one). It is easy to make the wrong choice when buying and get sucked in by bike company marketing hype.
bike looks a bit small for him no?
he's 6'4" and it's size S6, can't go any bigger
It's a great size for him.
One advice guys, never use with coil shock. Turbo Levo and Levo SL easily breaks any coil shock...
Storia lok v3 though seems to be able to fit them fine.
Same with my old Orbea rallon. Broke an EXT within a few months. The asymmetrical frames just don’t like coil
I have the stumpy Evo af with a mrp Hazzard ..from flow jump lines to chunk...no problems.
@@callanrobison2674 how did it break
@@blackmetalgoat9060 i cant remember the specifics but it wore out the internals unevenly and developed a lot of lateral play
Damn. I bought my new bike too early.
80% SAG in Front
Hahaha best comment
Is he on a medium frame
he's 6'4" on size S6
good ender
AWESOME :)
relaxing
Great I have to buy another bike
It appears sold out on their website.
@@Kaisersozze I want the frame only. Build it up myself
How tall is Jonny and what size is the bike?
Wondering cause I'm in between sizes, the bike in the video looks like an s5.
that info is in vid description. 6'4" tall, size S6 - full review here with every details here - www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Bikes,3/Specialized/Stumpjumper-EVO-Elite-Alloy,35172#product-reviews/4086
@@vitalmtb This is the only review I've seen online of an S6. I'm 6'3" and bought an S-Works Stumpy Evo in S6 three months ago. I guess I prefer bigger frames compared to most people. It's enormous compared to most bikes out there. I've been really digging it for my typical riding in Oregon and Washington, which is the more enduro side of trail riding.
16kg it aint light
the weight listed is the biggest size, S6, but definitely not a feather : )
@@vitalmtb Still very interesting alternative for carbon. Lets see how the price settles for Europe (Finland)
If be scared for the life of me with cactuses around
Where in Arizona was he?
Sunrise bike park in the beginning, then South Mountain
What’s the weight of this bike?
our size S6 test bike (the biggest size) is 35.4 pounds / 16.05kg
Dont zoom in so much
ok...and...any comments, review...anything?

Can't see much while he's hauling ass. Can we get a video with some closeups as well as talking about the build spec. This video is cool but gives me little to no information.

Very nice apart from the racist cable routing.
what
@@benphillips1149 If you run a left rear brake you end up with shit routing.
That's a thumb down on a video that didn't give us the run down. The only thing learned is that guy can shred.....
