I'd argue that they are not necessarily losing. If it becomes more of a hassle to use adblock, fewer people will do so.
Will they get everybody to stop using it? No, but probably not zero people either.
The'll push the number of people using adblocker closer and closer to being insignificant. That would be a victory for them as well as the people who truly care about adblock

Very good for creating a network (the irl kind not the ethernet kind) as well. Meeting other enthusiasts or people just getting started is fun even for an introvert like me
For SFF, it would be appreciated if NV (and AMD) would allow their standard drivers to work with their mobile chips, so that customers didn't have to frankendriver existing AExpress cards that already address this market.
Maybe microcenter is just trying to make us feel nostalgic about going into a game store and trading in a brand new $60 USD game for 5¢ store credit
To be fair, Microcenter has had a version of it for a few months.
The original catch was that you’d be trading in any cards that you bought directly from MicroCenter, and only from Microcenter. So they did make changes to their original setup.
with how tiny the founders edition card PCB is on the 4060 Ti and 4070, id love to see another SFF Founders Edition card like in the 1050.
When I put my 3080Ti in their system about a week ago, they offered around $400.
The day after I bought an $1100 RTX-4080 SUPER, I put the serial number in, and they offered $546 for a day old GPU. Curious what they might re-sell it for, I noticed they sell $1K open-box and/refurbed for about $200 less than original.

When I bought a new GPU from Microcenter, I learned about the Microcenter GPU Trade-In Program. However, instead of any sort of bonus if you put it towards a new GPU, they just offered me $190 (in-store credit) for my old 3070. For reference, Newegg would give me $230 and Jawa would give me $168. Not the best or worst, but wished they had some actual incentive given many people are going to Microcenter after a long drive. Plus, I unironically could probably sell it for more just by standing outside the store and trying to sell it in the parking lot for like $200 straight cash.
Any chance for a decaf ?
No Microcenter close by or Newegg i live in Washington State the closest one is in California 3 states away so i am guessing it won't effect most people.
I use a script to edit the CSS on every site I'm on so I always have dark mode. It is indeed helpful in not blasting my eyes on ANY site, as you mentioned they do.
Google making Drive site a dark mode is welcomed, here's hoping that they'll implement it on their office suite as well, Docs, Sheets, and Slides

Currently using a sff single fan palat 4060 in a 6.8 liter case for my driving sim pc. Love not having a giant box getting in the way or taking up space in the room where the sim rig already dominates the space. Sff forever.👍🏽
To me it sounds like Nvidia wants to create a certification that will allow them to deny RMAs for people who try to put 80 and 90 class GPUs in SFF systems and encounter problems, such as the power adapter shenanigans.

Damn... Did not expect to see Microcenter really screwing people over like they're running a pawn shop. Especially when Newegg is actually offering people a fair price, taking into consideration that they need to make a little money as well on the transaction. Microcenter really wants to pull at least double the profit on these cards and I just can't see a viable reason for anyone to trade a GPU in there. Selling on eBay is a cake walk, or just send it to Newegg.
Also, you got me excited with the SFF story... and then dropped me on my ass. It's my fault, I should have known better considering it's NVIDIA.
only problem with ebay is the scammers that say item never arrived, or arrived broken or some other story so they get a refund and the card and you the seller gets nothing.
@@Edzewkurai I've dealt with a few of those. If the tracking shows delivered, then you're not responsible, per eBay's own policies. However, even USPS's cheapest shipping comes with $100 insurance and if you're shipping a 4090 and not insuring it... you're a damn fool, and that's your own damn fault. Also, if you have clear documentation showing the condition of the item and they send it back with damage that wasn't there, no refund. They can't damage something and get their money back. Regardless, I've been selling on eBay since the late 90s, you're talking about super edge case issues... like far less than 1%. And you can just deal with people that have a good track record. Just say you'll cancel bids or purchases from people with zero or negative feedback. People blow issue on buying and selling on eBay WAY out of proportion.
Their trade in policy is dumb because it requires that you have purchased your GPU from Microcenter.
Last I checked Micro Center only accepts trade-ins for cards purchased in-store or online from a Micro Center. Not super positive about it, though.
I do want them to change that, but i understand why. They probably have certain models in their system which they can mark as open box but if you use something like a yeston card, they can't resell as open box because they can't print a label for a product they don't carry. But I hope they change that soon.
@@2muchjpop I don't know about graphics cards, but there are also certain SKUs of full systems that are MC exclusive/custom. There might be issues with licenses or other agreements.
Newegg doesn’t care where your graphics card comes from. They give you a good price.

They did block ReVanced about a week or 2 ago where it blocked the video saying it was unavailable. But it was quickly fixed by ReVanced with a new patch. Most likely going to be a cat and mouse thing.

I mean to be fair, the give you less money but also sell for less money. I got my 3090ti a couple months ago for under 500 so I'm sure they paid the trade in even less than that. So IDK. Maybe it depends on how much they reselling for.

I really hope that Nvidia and AIBs start making high performing cards with small coolers soon. There are technically 3060 Ti and 4060 Ti ITX cards out there but they're usually out of stock and being resold for $500+, so the only accessible option right now is the 4060. It makes it difficult to justify the price of something like a Velka 3 when you'll be effectively limited to 1080p in AAA titles.

Micro center isn't convenient without asking for an 1100$ discount on a 4090. I don't live near one, and a lot of the time I can't get the item I want shipped to me . I want to use micro center. but yeah if the Bar is lower than Newegg and Newegg ships to me, hard to argue with.
I’ll stick up for Micro Center a little bit. I traded in my 3070 about a couple months ago for $200. But when I see the same card going for around $300 on places like eBay, I think it’s fair when I factor in shipping costs, seller fees, and other potential risks. $700 for a 4090 is ridiculous though.
What I want to know is, in what scenario, would someone who was able to afford a 4090 need to sell it?

Conspiracy theory, maybe Nvidia sff graphics cards is a way to move stock of the 40 series, since they want to comply with their 50 series release date in Q4 of this year to try and keep their share price.

I’m not a paid X user but I thought it was awesome when they changed it so paid people comments show up first. Twitter went from a hellscape to a beautiful place overnight when they made that change. So even though my unpaid comments would never be seen by anyone, it was still a win for me.

Only Gigabyte makes the RTX 4060 in LP format and it is 100$ more expensive than the standard format AND Gigabyte PCBs have a nice tendency to crack !! So much for SFF !
the cracking was related to weight which is less of an issue with a 4060...
I know the price just went up on them. I build custom small form factors for a company that uses those GPUs for their flagship mini ITX builds. I don't know where you get the 100 over stock pricing though. That sounds like some Newegg effery. I still see them on B&H and Amazon for about 320, but they interestingly went up to about 350 in value for about a month recently, but went back down. I have to follow these these prices regularly.
@@OctagonalSquare I do wish other manufacturers made more LP cards for sure . Gigabyte isn't my favorite brand, but their 4060 LP is solid for what it is. In my personal builds I tend to stick to founders editions mostly. Asus, MSI, Gigabyte and these third parties have been caught too often with these little compromises here and there that fluctuate. Modding them isn't so bad either.
the only 4060 I can see potentially cracking is a 3-slot 3-fan ROG Strix 4060 (yes this monstrosity exists for some reason)

You say that Nvidia is working with GPU and case manufacturers to come up with an SFF GPU standard, but it's probably more like Nvidia came up with the standard themselves with little consideration for others just so they can get the credit.
I feel like 8000 series desktop cpus are pretty pointless when we've got a solid lineup of 7000 series cpus and we're expecting 9000 cpus in like 5 minutes. also, putting ai in cpus really only makes sense if you don't intend on using dedicated gpu in the build as I believe, to the best of my knowledge, that all modern gpus have some sort of tensor/ai capabilities that can be accessed readily. my 4090 for example can do 1321 TOPS when you put it's tensor cores to work. I could see reasons moving forward to put tensor cores in cpus with onboard graphics such as notebook cpus or desktop cpus with integrated graphics in order to drive llms or graphical ai features (Such as those coming to adobe's creative cloud offerings) or local image generation software (stable diffusion and the like) as that technology becomes more popular moving forward, but it's a waste of die space for anyone who is going to use a dedicated gpu as they're going to have WAY more powerful tensor processing capabilities than what they're going to put on a cpu die (because there's way more space for it and because ray traced gaming as well as ai upscaling (dlss, et al) depend on them for fast image generation and interpolation.

I'm not really sure why you'd trade in a 4090. If you need the money, you're not using a trade in program to buy other hardware.
