  • Thank you for watching!
This is the second Sashiko thimble making video.
Some of Sashiko thimbles are made with metal so I used a metal covered button kit to make this thimble.
Sashiko thimbles are not essential but help a lot if you have one when you stitch Sashiko.
They are not particularly easy for me to find at shops so I make them by myself!
If you are interested in making a soft type rather than this metal type, please watch the previous video (Part 1) from the link below.

    Thanks 🙏
I have used a beer cap from my husband’s beer bottle instead of the metal button.
    It worked well!

Great tutorial, thank you. I made one with a token coin and mini hair elastic. It's a little thick because I use denim.

Thank you! I’ve been using it all the time. The curved shape of the button really helps to hold the needle (at least for me). I hope you like it!

    Ah!
It's like taking magnesium and putting epsom salts water in one's cream.
All, is healed and nothing more breaks.
    That,
    is this thimble.
    It sorts it alllll out.
    🙏

Brilliant! I have watched both videos and am excited to make some. Question..... could you also use real leather, or would it be to difficult to push a needle through?

Thank you for your comment😊 I’m actually not sure if real leather is too hard to stitch through, but the commercial one is, I believe, real leather and it’s just single layer so you may not need to make layers with real leather. I suppose it depends on the thickness of the leather❤️🧵🪡
