This video I show some of the big ash slabs 12/4 in size I milled and videoed the finished Nyle Wood Drying Kiln, and ending with milling Oak 4x4s. Also talk about my battle with Ehrlichia, a tick bite disease.

HI, Tim. I always appreciate your comments on natural healing, and your recommendations. Just curious, when you cut the wide slab ash, did you smell burning rubber? Looks like the drive belt could have been slipping, which could account for the washboard cuts on the ash. I could sure relate to your needing to trim the log. I've had to climb atop a log on the carriage many times to trim it back. Driving felling wedges into the kerf help open it up enough to pull the blade back out of the cut. Only other thing is to make sure there's fuel in the tank before you start cutting. Pain in the neck when you've got the carriage lifted near the top and run out of gas in the middle of a cut! Looking forward to the video where you unload the first stack of lumber from the kiln!

Hey Dave always great to hear from you! I will look into the drive belt. Can't remember if I smell rubber but will check and see if the belt is loose.
Yeah, I checked three times and thought I was good and clear and found out NOT! More trimming needed...
      Thanks for the comments!
