Thanks for this video! I have a 66 gto that I was considering buying the $800 kit for, but your video definitely showed how simple it is to do yourself.
Thanks for the feedback. Glad it will help you out. I was lucky enough to have some of the tools needed. Even if you had to buy them you now have shop tools for future projects.
Very nice video and workmanship
Thank you!!
Nice work! Thanks for sharing
Thank for the positive comment and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it.
Ive seen a pre-cut kit (two seperate and expensive kirs needed), but i like your method and appreciate the way you explain the process. Well done 👍
Thank you!! I looked at the kits and I’m always wanting to learn and do vs always buying something off the shelf.
I really like how you are laying your subframe connectors.
Thank you!
Great video..I want to do that to my 55 frame
Glad you’re able to apply what I did to your project. Thank you for watching and commenting
Great video nice work I do have a question I can see boxing the frame, and when you have a welded bracket on each side for the crossmember, if you were to tie a crossmember/ driveshaft loop just in front of the rear differential, why do we need the tubular bars I’m not seeing what that’s doing yet I see these kits that have them when you box. The frame isn’t that rigid enough .I guess what I’m trying to ask, is what do those tubular arms really do if you were too weld the brackets for the crossmember to each side where you boxed it Is that ties it from side to side especially once the transmission is bolted into the crossmember once again love the video. Great job.
It helps stiffen up the frame more, also the rear lower control arm mount can be a weak point when running high hp from what i understand. I guess that mount can rip out. So I tied my bar front to back into it to help reinforce it.
@@ShopDogFabrication Got Ya makes sense, never thought about that!! Thanks for the response!!
Thank you. I am going to reinforce my frame on my 03' Crown Vic. I know the frame is different but there are places where I can reinforced.
I honestly don’t know, I tried to google it and doesn’t seem like anyone does it, hard to tel but looks like the frame is already boxed in.
Where do you get cereal boxes?
Eating cereal, we have several recycle areas where you can take cardboard, I’m sure you could find similar boxes. Cracker boxes are the same.
thanks. I definitely don't like cereal that much. But the Boxes seem like a good idea for something like this
