    A dynafile type belt sander works well for blending/smoothing and like your mentioned concern about overgrinding things it stays very controllable. I picked up a 211 a few months ago and its easily become my favorite mig machine.
    If you had a CNC plasma you would be a dangerous man.

      That’s a great idea! I love the 211. I’ve had zero issues with mine and it’s range is great. I have a small plasma table I just need to learn to use it.

    Nice video, you seem like a cool guy. Currently building my 1980 K30 frame-off resto mod. 383 Stroker. SM465. NP205. My 4month old daughter visiting me in my garage with her mother every now n then. Excited to build more projects with her when she’s older. Great video!

    That now is one stiff rigid frame! What now is the best way to coat the inside to help prevent corrosion? Also once done, the inside is perfect for running a wire harness.

    Don’t forget to leave access holes for mounting shocks, crossmembers and body mounts like I did. I should’ve welded nuts to the backside, then you don’t need access holes to hold the nut while you tighten the bolts.

      Time frame could be do able if I really wanted. The main issue is most “truck” shows are too much for me lol the atmosphere can upset me being a old man in my head mentally lol.

    Did you use 1/8" Cold rolled on this bud?? I am doing a 71 C-10 and want to do exactly what you did.... Any other suggestions, other than what you said in this video?? also how many sheets did you use?? what size sheets? Thanks for Documenting this man, It helped me alot!!!!       Yep, 1/8th cold roll. I don’t have any suggestions besides take your time trimming the plates down. It’s really as easy as it seems in this video. I believe the sheet was 4x6 when I started and I had plenty leftover. I had previously cut 2x4 off the original 4x8 sheet. So one should be plenty. I’m glad the video helps and I appreciate you watching!

    Your little assistant needs to start welding. While you think she might be too young, I helped my grandson weld up a little piece of steel and he loved doing that. Of course with all the safety equipment on and total body coverage for her too! But once they start doing that, they love it! JMHO

    Great video, very informative, thanks! Please take this the right way, but, please make sure your assistant (and you) wear eye protection ESPECIALLY when either of you are using compressed air to clean. My daughter helped with my 50 Chevy 5-window and those are memories we still talk about.
