I love the combination of cozy indoor content combined with beautiful natural outdoor time in your vlogs!! Also, Scottish weddings look like an absolute blast! Love your videos, perfect Sunday morning activity. 😊
Thank you so much for your reflection on “Rural not Remote” and the rental impact on rural communities. In the past I’ve romanticized the Highlands and it’s so helpful to hear from someone navigating those nuances on the ground. Love your vlog!
I was sitting itching to make it public from 8am 😂 so happy the Sunday morning upload works well for you!! Hope you enjoy and have a yummy brekky!! Xxx
❤Loved this upload so much! Also resonating with not having family nearby, I moved abroad and yes how lovely it would be if I could just nip 'home' for a coffee, chat, hug❤your Airbnb looks the absolute cutest btw
Your videos are very entertaining and are a good example of life in your part of the world. I agree with you on the topic of appreciating bumping into your family while out and about. I’m 60 and have not many aunties left, my parents passed years ago. I miss it dearly. Take care, love your videos.
I totally relate to the struggles Caroline being Welsh my daughters all have Welsh names and on holiday once I was calling them for lunch this guy in the pool started laughing and said stupid Welsh names they sound ridiculous! I'm very proud of my heritage and my granchy was from Inverness so I'm a very proud celt ❤
Love your perspective on the life up there, so true and interesting and I love watching young native people talk this way and living the wonderful life in their home land and the revival of the language too. It’s so fab to see it. I follow a couple of other native young peeps in ytube and it’s joyous to see
It’s like my weekly thing to watch you vlog now Caroline! Just enjoyed it in bed with a cuppa on a cosy Sunday morning 🥰 inspired me to make a banana loaf today using up those sad bananas!! Great glowing skin btw! ☺️
Absolutely love the sweater. Your videos are very calming. Scotland is on my bucket list to visit. Just found out my sister and I are over 50% Scottish . What a pleasant surprise. So I really appreciate all the landscape shots, thank you for taking all of us along with you and your sweet family.
Loving these! Don't let people make you feel guilty about airbnb. Your situation is totally different where you live on the property. It's where people buy a house solely for airbnb that makes it hard for renters.
I'm a Lee fan too! He has the best voice I've ever come across and I just think yous two are so lovely. I'm currently working my way through all your videos and they never disappoint! Dreaming of escaping the south of France heat next summer and road tripping round Scotland with my partner - fingers crossed it happens and we make it to the Isle of Skye!! Lots of love from Amy, a Liverpudlian living in sunny Montpellier xx
Scotland is on my bucket list, but right now your videos are my weekly foray there. My family farms too, I completely agree Rural not Remote! Best to you & Lee💚
A lovely way to start my day with your video! Loved every minute of it as always! You, Lee and Nuala have a special life and I’m grateful for you sharing it. ❤
Loved this cozy vlog 🥰 Also I love the merch you picked. Those issues are so important to discuss. I moved to Scotland 8 years ago (my husband is Scottish) and I am always trying to inform myself about what people are going through in different areas. I love when you give a little more insight to how people feel/think, hopefully it helps visitors to be more sensitive to where they are (sorry I’m not wording this well..still need my coffee 🤣) I found you from IG, been loving your Ireland posts 🤩 I went there once and it was one of the best weeks ever
Every time you put up a new video Caroline, it makes my whole day! I get my cozy blanket and plop on the couch with my dog and have the best time. Thank you for sharing so we can live vicariously through you! Sending you, Lee, and Nuala lots of love from South Carolina in the US 💛
I completely agree with your stance on Airbnb! I also live in a popular tourist destination in the Highlands and because of this I always consciously choose Airbnbs which wouldn't be suitable long term homes, eg tiny homes/cabins. The issue is people renting out homes which would otherwise be reasonably priced long-term rentals or would suit first time/low budget buyers like ex-council properties or affordable new builds. Haters gonna hate but I think you're doing it in the most ethical way you can.
What a lovely week! I loved seeing your outing to Oban and the livestock market! We spent a couple of days in Oban in 2019 and ate at Cuan Mor. It's a lovely town and the seafood was amazing. Every place that has such natural beauty and interesting history is going to attract tourists. It's a struggle to balance the economic benefit the visitors bring with the damage that can be done if tourism overruns the local culture. It is an issue in every lovely seaside and mountain town here in the US. I love to travel, but it requires a respect for local life and traditions.
Loved the vid, Caroline! The cookies stay more compact because the dough is cold indeed. If you leave the dough balls to come to roomtemp for 30 mins, they will spread out like usual (or don't and bash the tray while still hot, that will make them flatten out as well 😊)
I just love love love your content! It is such wholesome goals 🥰 Definitely don’t take shit from people about your Airbnb, you’re managing to bring people to the local area without taking an actual house. It is a stunning Airbnb but you could not live there full time, so don’t mind them! Saying you had 45 minutes to get ready for a wedding sent me into an anxious spin, but your dress was stunning 😍 so fab!
I haven't watched the entire vlog yet, but wanted to say that your talk on what "remote" living means really resonated with me. I live in a fairly big city, but me and by partner often feel quite lonely and isolated here. It's hard to meet people, as it's a city that doesn't have a big focus on community or tradition. I've always felt most at home in nature and hope to move to a more "remote" place eventually. I think it's in many ways easier to get the essential things of life in a smaller community: connection, friendship, access to nature. Things are more personal than in a big city. As much as I have access to all the material things, it's so difficult to have a real sense of identity or belonging. It makes me sad that the focus on community has been getting lost as people focused more and more on material things and personal "growth" rather than fostering a connection with the immediate world around us. And that's where life actually happens.
I love Sunday uploads. It’s so much better having a routine as I was confused before. I tried to find something you posted from a while back but couldn’t remember which vid it was. This way is much better. Just friendly feedback. I love your channel ❤
Just wanted to say I am loving your videos! Really interesting to hear the rural vs remote discussion. I grew up in a more rural location and never felt like I was lacking anything growing up there. I now live on the edge of village, 20 minutes from the nearest city but we are as rural as we could afford when buying our first home which was important to me. I’d love to live in an even more rural location one day. The use of language is really interesting, thank you for highlighting this! Also interesting to hear about AirBnB, living also in a tourist destination I totally understand how people feel and when locals are priced out that is really hard (I couldn’t afford a house in the village I grew up in for example) but as someone who lives and works locally and that your AirBnB is more like what it was originally set up as and is part of your home I don’t think you should feel bad but you are definitely doing the right thing by being conscious of it and trying to give back to the community. Cozy and thought provoking video, love it! All the best to you, Lee and Naula! 💚
Watching you painting your nails in the car on the way to a wedding is giving me serious anxiety! LOL 😅 Your videos are now becoming part of my Sunday night wind down. I love them! Keep it up!
Loved this video! Would be great to hear more about your parent's farm/business. I'm actually vegan but not super judgy and am very interested in the more traditional ways people keep livestock. Would be cool to see their farm!
Love your discussion of remote! I live in Appalachia in the US and that’s something that we have to combat up here too. Everyone thinks that we’re less than because we’re farther from all of the big city type stuff.
Super happy my algorithm on here recommended this video! I watched this one, and really liked it, so I’m now making my way through all of your videos, and have subbed and followed on all your socials. ^.^ I live in the US, and am prepping to move to Scotland in January, take a trip out for Hogmanay next month, to get a lot of the legalities and such taken care of. I’m moving to Edinburgh, for work, healthcare, and schooling reasons, but I very much intend to do a lot of traveling to get to know Scotland and fully integrate myself into it, beyond just my family ties. Your voice is so soothing, and your videos make me feel so less stressed about the move, and everything I have to do for it. And you being so open about questioning yourself and getting worried, or frustrated, is also validating. Looking forward to all that’s to come of following you, now! And I send head pats to your pup! She’s so sweet, and I adore her! I have 2, a blue healer/border collie/great dane/other things mutt named Bucky and a terrier who came from one of the 7 Circles but I love him all the same named Whiskey. 😂 Planning on a third dog after the move!
hello from chicago! your vlogs are my favorite thing to watch with my coffee on sunday mornings! i actually just got back from my honeymoon in london and edinburgh; we did a highlands tour too one day but i already want to go back and add a few days in skye to the agenda :) have a lovely time in ireland!!
I have a wee holiday let like you ( I stay on Lewis ) I’m very conscious of it not being big enough to live in permanently.. it was a Weavers Shed and if I had a bigger property I would definitely local rent it as a home .. My property hasn’t stolen a house from someone other than maybe an animal who now has better accommodation ..I rent out through VRBO..
Another wonderful video. We moved from Glasgow to Perth one month ago and life is just so beautiful away from the city, love your videos, definitely inspiring us to go further North with our next move. Lol cannot believe the audacity of folk to comment on your Airbnb - not your circus, not your monkeys! That saying often helps me when dealing with certain types 🤣
Aw that must have been such a lovely change of scenery!! And I know, it’s a minefield haha but might need to adopt the not my circus not my monkeys mentality more haha
What a beautiful walk from your house, I follow Sarah from living Skye life have you ever bumped into her on your travels 😊 your both living the best life, wish I could do that but a bit too old now at 66 I’ve missed the ferry 😂 I’ll have to make do with my Scottish holidays xx🦌🌿🥰
I’ve just found your channel! Is there a good place to start to get a background of you? Might be a silly question, but I’m trying to piece together the bits I’m learning from the past couple of vlogs when I have a chance to catch up. Loving this peak into life in the Scottish highlands!
Re remote: I hate it when people describe a place as being ''in the middle of nowhere'' . . . grrr . . . everywhere is somewhere and the quiet places are usually the most beautiful.

Love an early sunday upload, thanksss! Gonna watch this right now in my dressing gown and with a slow breakfast, perfect!
I was sitting itching to make it public from 8am 😂 so happy the Sunday morning upload works well for you!! Hope you enjoy and have a yummy brekky!! Xxx
I love how conscientious you are about your air bnb. But don't take sh*t from folks. You're good people. ❤
Watching this while working currently… so comforting!
I’m in the US (Missouri lol). Your life is beautiful!!!
Thank you for watching 🥰

Love the rural/remote debate. I am rural but have never felt remote, very interesting 🤔.
Agree 🥰

Agreed! You have an inn of one! ❤🛌 it’s what Air BnB started as/was meant to be!

Bloody loved this weekly episode, think it’s definitely the best format for you ❤

Lovely vlog. I thoroughly enjoyed that. The wedding looked like a blast. Looking forward to the next vlog!
So happy you enjoyed it 🥰
The little click clack of puppy paws running up is so cute
Hehehe 🐾💛
Loved the vlog the vibes are imaculate as always.
I would watch your videos even if they were 2 hours long.
Can't wait for Ireland videos!
Love watching you cook and bake. And as you Scots say no bad weather only bad clothes . Have fun. Wish I was off to Ireland. ttfn

Loving this peak into life in the Scottish highlands!
There’s a get to know me q&a on my channel!
Love love love all your vlogs. My only complaint would be there aren't enough.
I’m not a full time creator so this is my max I’m afraid!
Fabulous video. I love your content. Thanks
Thanks so much 🥰
Poor wee cows :(( must be so scary
Very scary and confusing for them, sweet innocent babes. Torn away from their mama’s too💔.
Was the focaccia meant to share? 😂 I hope Lee bought himself one as well 😊😂
Still unsure 😂
Re remote: I hate it when people describe a place as being ''in the middle of nowhere'' . . . grrr . . . everywhere is somewhere and the quiet places are usually the most beautiful.
