Managing dozens of tracks when recording heavy guitars can be tough enough.
Unfortunately, things usually become exponentially more complicated when sending tracks out through your interface, then into a live amp and re-recording them back into your interface.
Yup, that's reamping in a nutshell.
A million separate DI tracks. Multiple microphones. Multiple pedals. Cables all over the place...
So much can go wrong if you're not organized.
Not the end of the world if you're only reamping tracks for one song.
But it can become an absolute nightmare when reamping guitar tracks across an entire EP or full-length album.
Luckily, I've got the PERFECT solution for you.
In this video, I break down my favorite process for prepping an entire album's worth of guitar tracks when reamping heavy guitar tracks.
This is the exact process I use for quick and efficient reamping sessions that save me hours upon hours when working with bands in my studio.

Reaper allows you to set up batch render rules that helps automate a lot of this, depending on how far you take it. Love the video!
I swear to god I'm gonna credit you in my next record. It's sounding AWESOME thanks to your videos. You're the best, Bobby!
Awesome video dude!
Talk about saving time! It hadn't dawned on me to place all the DIs onto one track and then re-amp them all in series. That tip alone made this video even more super helpful than it already was. Tips like these, earned with real-world experiences and the desire to make the best use of time, make me truly appreciate the information you give us. Another hit out of the park, man. Respect.
So organized, so clean. I am a mess even today. I know is important to have a system. But sometimes we want to hear right now!
Bobby kicking butt!!!
What is the optimal level to track at before reamping?
So, I don't know if I've missed something here. So do the di tracks automatically save as dry clean tracks ?? That's the 1 thing no other youtuber tells us in any of their video about taking dry tracks
Another K.O. I look forward to how you deal with the time alignment of the new recorded tracks.

So if you used Reaper 6, you could batch different projects/sessions, schedule them to render while you are away, and get the same results without the hassle?
Hello, i have a question! in PART 1 you use an EQ on guitars and also in the PART 3 you use again EQ on guitars with the SAME manner why that?

Great video! It seems like this was done on a live stream. Was this done on UA-cam or was this a private stream?
It was a private live call with members of the Frightbox Mix Crypt: frightboxrecordingacademy.com/mixcrypt/
if your not reamping solo guitars, which plugins do you use to make them sound good, in the solo part of the song?
I'm using the TSEX50 with my own custom impulse response: frightboxrecordingacademy.com/free-impulse-response/
The DI files in series is a great idea to streamline reamping! But now the timestamps don't correspond with the original sessions, so aligning them all will be a headache.
Not really. I just cut each file and consolidate so that they start at the exact same point in time as each individual DI file. It's accurate down to the sample.
@@FrightboxRecording Ok, thanks. That process would be a good addition to this video.
If you want to know how to chop up the reamps and re-import them with ease..here's a private video I shot for you: ua-cam.com/video/peN2mHFJ6-0/v-deo.html
@@FrightboxRecording Thanks Bobby!
If i do a reamp with real amps, then i reamp without the cab n mic, then in the project i use the irs easy!!
But 99% of times its all amp sims !!
what if you want to re-amp through a real amp? not a sim..
All of the DI tracks prepped in this video were later sent into a live Mesa Boogie tube amp and re-recorded back into my DAW.
You'll need a re-amp box.
