      TheRcSaylors Oh thank goodness, you said you’ve had this awhile... I was having a moment of confusion, lol!
      I was thinking, “Wait-wait-wait, you already reviewed this heli; that’s why I bought one, way back then!”
      BTW, mine worked well for about a dozen flights, then the tail motor gave out and she spiraled to the ground and snapped the tail boom.
      🙁

    I have one of these and smoked the battery on the second charge. The power wire on the connector is reversed and if you use a standard charger as I did it will cook the battery. Very few companies do this I have only seen it on JJRC stuff so be careful and use the included charger. I soldered a second connector on to the batteries that has the wires the right way so that I can use my big charger.

    *_Dogonit_* , Nate! I have one and have owned it for a few years. $60 shipped and it's a beauty.
    I cannot fly it as well as you though and could never take my hands from the radio like you've done! Nonetheless friends, I haven't crashed it so often but _have_ had some nasty spills. Good thing to know is that I also haven't had to replace a single component and I'll call it tough! I bought a small pack of three 1s Tattu batteries to accompany it and I'm good forever.
    Thanks for reminding me to bring it back out because I have no winds where I live and especially in the backyard. Perfect time of the year to give it a rip and get better. It's a good buy, viewers!
    Funny thing is I'm watching your next video that was was cued and sure enough - also have a Sport Cub that I've never flown! Same one you guys are showing...it's time to send it!
    You guys help my confidence in the air so much.

    Folks, this is a WONDERFUL little copter, and you just can't beat the price!✨😁✨
    I have THREE and it is so much fun flying with others, especially inside the house, navigating through obstacles and such; umm, 😱 like SWATTING CAT PAWS!!! You'll get about five mins. of flight time, which is great for beginners.
    One of the things I really like is that the SWASH PLATE (direction control) is located INSIDE the body, not on the outside near the top of the rotor. This means that there is a MUCH less chance of damage to the linkage of the 'plate'. I would think that THIS is THE little heli for a first experience, especially for a child... TALKING TO YOU, AMELIA! 😁 hee hee
    As an "Old-fart" flyer of RC devices of ALL types, I just KNOW that this will delight all first-timers, for its flight characteristics, but even MORE so for its durability. You can thank Nate later after you purchase, and also ME for sort of 'pushing' you towards buying one. Well, IF they are available; a truly DANDY helicopter.

  • @EricFB
    @EricFB 4 роки тому +1

    I picked one of these up, it's sweet. Super durable and small enough that you can crash into walls in your house without marking them up too bad. Had a blade 180efl and this is way easier to fly. Less drift and quite a bit faster. Enjoy

    Just got this one very recently, and I agree with your review 100%. One thing I did, which I found on an rc blog, was to solder an extension wire with JST micro connectors. This allowed me to route the female end outside the canopy and attach the battery with adhesive velcro on the underside of the canopy. This way you never have to take the canopy off every time you install a battery, which was a big pain for us folks with big hands. It also opens up other battery options, but I wouldn't recommend going higher than 200 mAh because of the weight and changing flight characteristics. But a little bit bigger battery does give you a minute or two more fly time.

    One of the most common questions: How long does it fly?

    • @jamesg9943
      @jamesg9943 4 роки тому

      @Kevin Farley: around 10-15 minutes maybe a little more has been my experience with things like this. All depends on how fast (how much battery power is used) and if it's being flown in much to any wind. In your house or appartment, I'd say a good 15 minutes is a solid number. Good thing the batteries are cheap... just have 8 batteries and you'd have a fun 2 hours worth of flight time. I have 6 batteries for my little plane and I generally only go through 4, sometimes I use a all 6. Hope this helped answer your question 👍

    I bought one of these after watching y'all's 6-month review. I didn't see the first video before that. The 70 S is one of my favorite little RCs. It's the only helicopter I own, and I fly at least one battery off with it every time the wind allows. I love to put in in high rate and see how close to the ground I can zoom it across the back yard. :)

      Its variable pitch as the blade pitch changes with its aileron movement. Collectively when the pitch is increased like a +1 degree the heli will start to lift. The speed of the blades remains the same so the pitch has to change in order for it to go up or down.

    I have a box full of the indoor micro heli's from years back like the Syma S107 coaxial. They are fun little helicopters for indoors but lack the realistic look and are not very fast. But now I see the micro heli's are evolving and I have purposely been waiting years for this technology. Flybarless, non coaxial and a true tail rotor and most important NOT an IR controller. Thanks for the video I think I will grab a couple of these for me and my son to play with. We don't have a very big yard so the small heli's work for us so we can fly inside or out in the small back yard.

    Just one thing. You said it was variable pitch but, the description on the website states that it's fixed pitch.
    Still an awesome price for that heli.

      Yeah, I caught that too. I think he means it's variable pitch in that it has cyclic control, but not collective.

    How about a hook on it and testing how much it can lift? That would be fun.

    It's a nice little heli for indoor flying. It's light enough that it won't damage your walls, furniture, etc. And it's super sturdy when you crash it. But the transmitter is really shoddy, and the heli is not compatible with any of the better transmitters Horizon Hobby (Blade) sells, because they buy this one in from another company (it is actually a re-badged Esky 150 V2). The poor transmitter means you really can't experience the full ability of the heli, which is a shame.
    There is some good news - earlier this year Pascal Langer figured out how to use a good quality "universal" transmitter with this. You need a transmitter that runs the latest version of the "OpenTx" software and has a multi-protocol module fitted. For example, the RadioMaster TX16S (perpetually backordered, so be prepared to wait a few weeks).
    As a general comment, you guys should definitely get a universal transmitter to fly stuff that comes with cheap toy transmitters.

    If you can fly drone you can fly helicopter. Not true , helicopter takes more practice imo.

    Biggest question I get asked is what’s the range.

  • @foellerd
    @foellerd 3 роки тому

    Haha, my first flybarless RC helicopter used infrared instead of 2.4ghz, so range was terrible and choppy depending on lighting. Also there wasn't a on-board balancing sensor, all manual everything. Was a knockoff too. That thing was HARD to fly but fast and aggressive.

    I started out with the AirHogs™ and They were so hard to fly, I have a box of old ones I never got good at!!! Then I found & tried the GyroCopter™, They were WAY better. But still to much work (For Me), This looks Great.

    That looks like an update of the Blade nanoCPX.

    • @dlgthermik
      @dlgthermik 3 роки тому

      No! It's completely different as it is fixed pitch and not collective pitch. Cp helis are a lot more fun, if you have some advantage.

    I bought the last one you recommended from a company called Banggood . That product had the tail rotor go out after 2 flights. They have been a freaking nightmare to deal with asking me to buy the replacement part and fix it myself. It wasn’t crashed, the little motor just stopped. They don’t back up their product AT ALL! So on that other mini helicopter from Banggood, beware, it will drive you insane dealing with the company. Not to mention it was a month getting here, so it’s been super frustrating to deal with. I may try this one just t8 see if it lasts more then 2 flights.

    Correction Nate; it is a FIXED pitch blade, NOT variable as you stated.

      Yes you are 100% correct. I misspoke in todays video. Dont know why I said that, as it is definitely fixed pitch 😃👍⚓😎

    Thanks for showing this heli I have a lot of blade helis and this is a good one to learn with it not heavy enough to break it's self as long as you cut the throttle just wish I could bind it with my dx6e you have to use the controller it comes with as far as I know

    Is this the same Blade 70s that you introduced to us back in late 2018?
    Link goes to a website for Horizon Hobbies which is down for the time being.
