this video reminded me so much of my great great uncle. who was a B-52 pilot but he had to go out of the air force due to both of his legs being blown straight off when he was hit by ground fire while traveling in a huey

My dad served in the Vietnam War when he was in the US Army.
Hearing this, and researching about the Vietnam War has really changed my perspective on the "Land of the free" and made me patriotic about vietnam, I'm not even Vietnamese I'm Scottish.
I am American. Both my uncles and one grandpa served in Vietnam. We should never have gone there. We propped up a corrupt and unjust government out of petty self interest and fear. The Vietnam War was unjustified. All Vietnam wanted was to govern itself, we should have honored that. We didn't, and 600,000 people died so... Vietnam could govern itself.
@@Mortablunt It not like North Vietnam is a single party Communist state that suppress dissent. It’s not like thousands of South Vietnamese were sent to re-education camps after the war and hundreds of thousands became boat refugees. We Americans get called out for the My Lai Massacre but no one ever mentions the Hue Massacre or numerous other mass killings by the Viet Cong and NVA. You’re not allowed to talk about them in present day Vietnam.
