Per the textbook you are correct, generally you should ventilate a patient who is breathing less than 8 or more than 28 times a minute. Good catch on that!

Should demonstrate a blood sweep (why verbalize everything?) 32 RR and shallow? You should be ventilating this pt. The EMT could also look for any medical alert brackets or the ICE info on a cell phone. Ideally the student should say what they assess, by actually physically assessing the pt, and then the proctor says what the vitals or injuries are after the student demonstrates it. This was more of a textbook exam than a practical.
A single femur fracture is not generally considered a life threat, and there was no indication on any life threatening bleeding from the fracture. Since the injury is not a life threat, it is appropriate to manage it during the secondary assessment. With the decreased GCS score it is much more important to prioritize rapid transport over placing a traction splint on the femur, which would significantly delay transport.
@@bossbabydotone1174 No- this was a pretty decent video, but it was too verbalized. If they actually physically did what they were saying, they would have caught this. This is why you practice like you play.
