It has a really low (actually 0 on primary fire) punch through, which is what makes these shotgun weapons work with the bubble
Edit: If you plan on making it like burst damage instead of a consistent damage field (like exergis would) then the Kuva Hek would work
Having 2 in the magazine is very important for both the tonkor and the exergis as that double tapping helps both weapons a lot. Having 100% status is also a good idea, it fixes that proc problem you mentioned since you are firing 7 or 8 shards and each procs status. My riven mod gives it a bunch more multishot and adds heat damage for yet another DoT.
Also important note, you can get 2 in the magazine by simply using normal ammo stock, primed is not required because of how rounding works :P

@@Vaz_G Nah, the reason why you are better off with two rounds rather than one round and reload is burst dps. The tonkor has decent enough status that you want to proc stuff as fast as possible and with a two shot burst you get double the chances for hunter munitions slash and viral procs (or whatever other procs you got).
Plus in my opinion, it feels significantly better to have two as you can spread shot, fire in one location then fire another in a slightly different location so you cover a wider area before having to reload.
It's difficult to do with a riven though, you must have +magazine in the riven mod and use wildfire to get the last smidge of magazine. If they lower the dispo even slightly i think i would lose my double shot build lol.

I didn't really appreciate how the "experience" part of the crafting plays so much into the final product. The feel is an underrated aspect of creating fun and effective loadouts.

I adore this thing. You should have tried it with Shotgun Vendetta and the primed reload mod for sure.
Galv savy on exergis is actually a multiplicative bonus. Makes the gun kinda nuts, especially if you mod it for viral and heat. That way you don't necessarily get more slash procs, but each slash or heat proc does more damage. Also, Shotgun vendetta arcane is just the best thing ever for exergis.
And yeah, the primed ammo stock is excellent mod for exergis and tigris, cos at some point no matter how much you have reload speed, it doesn't compensate for the 2nd trigger pull.
Fucking *thaaaaaank youuuu* for reviewing this gun, mister UA-cam man, this is my absolute favorite shotgun in the entire game!!! It’s not the most powerful (before the damage rework at least), but it still makes me insanely happy to see people use it! 100% underrated gun
it's underrated because Tigris exists and Tigris Prime has done and still does more work in terms of damage compared to this gun plus the lack of crit and only 1 shot magazine made this literally an essential gun for if you run Nova and use her 2 for nuking in non-steel path content but outside of charging Nova's orb it does nothing compared to pretty much every shotgun in the game
@@theunhingedgamer3762 Believe it or not, I actually tried it with a crit slash setup and, for some inexplicable reason aside from maybe the multishot saving it, the build actually works. Let that say how much I love this gun that I’m willing to try it with arguably the worst crit stats of every single primary in the game 😂

Been telling people since shotgun status “nerf” that Exergis effectively fills the role now.
Viral+Heat with Shotgun Cannonade and Elementalist just wrecks faces.
Primed Ammo Stock is pointless on Exergis though unless you’re going for 3 shots, you can get the same result with regular Ammo Stock or Elementalist and save the mod space.
We need a freaking Tenet Exergis, I love the feeling of the weapon

You don't need primed stock, any sufficient magazine+ mod will make the mag size round up to 2

This gun with Xata's Whisper allows the shots to be trapped by the bubbles and then be released in random directions. With the infinite body punch through it has, this becomes a quite good AoE hall clearer ^_^

Hey, as someone who played with the base Tigris in steel path a long time ago, it’s pretty simple. So by default, it’s a status heavy weapon, meaning going for buffs that go off of price is want you want. A prime example is the arcane shotgun vendetta, or primary merciless/deadhead, all work great. I would recommend running the tried and true viral slash build on it. Use 90% mods for status, and go with the galv savvy and galv hell mods
Giving the weapon a second shot feels good because it turns it into a corpus tigris and that was meta … ummm a very long time ago lol

you're 100% wrong about this because I've tested this once in the past and it only works on secondaries so unless you have a bug or are committing some form of hacking wizardry you're absolutely incorrect here

You can very easily get a second round without much issue on the Exergis, and it helps a lot. You're also underestimating the effectiveness of the Radiation, especially in missions with Necratech and the Murmur.
I've been loving these new contents! Revisiting old weapons and trying out interesting and or non meta builds has been a great refresher for warframe. I love your work and keep it up ❤
You should consider using canno mod, which makes damage super high, and elementalist actually gives u 2 shots, 3 with prime ammo stock. Viral and heat or just heat, and it melts anything in front of it

Technically fully ranked regular ammo stock (60% or so) will do, since it rounds the magazine increase up. Apologies if someone already commented this, but there are a lot and I won't read them all.

I've got a riven I really like for it with faction damage to both Grineer and Corpus alongside 73% additional status chance. That lets me run an underleveled 60/60 mod to manage my viral weight while staying well over 100%. The full build is: Frigid Blast, R0 Toxic Barrage, Scattering Inferno, Galvanized Hell, Savvy, & Acceleration, Sweeping Serration, Primed Tactical Pump, and my Riven. It shreds every faction, everywhere, all the time, and I love it. I'm particularly fond of it on Citrine and Mag.
ok hear me out, find a shotgun that has really high status and multishot, then mod it for high cold weight, and you get an instant freeze gun. sure a chaining beam weapons gonna be better but this is funnier
edit: i did some math and in theory exergis can do this. with 12.6 multishot and 122.4% status chance you get an average of 15.4 procs per shot. with a 74% cold weight 11.4 of those procs should be cold. if im wrong oops
caveat is you dont get viral, slash, or the reload speed from merciless cause you use primary frostbite and you need kills to stack galv hell. the point is to just shoot and freeze which you cant do if the enemys dead. you also cant do it if you dont get the kills which is kinda unfortunate
Tigris time
The Exergis has innate infinite body punch through, meaning it will go through all enemies in front of it until it hits an environmental surface. Because of this, it synergizes perfectly with Mag, as the projectiles will swarm her bubbles until they just time out. This also means punch through mods aren't as useful compared to other weapons.

It has Innate Punch Through but it's not Infinite 🤔 it's Enough to Shoot through a Single Target if they are Skinny Enough 👀

I've also tested this myself with Mag: The projectiles will continuously spin around and hit a ton of enemies, and even after the enemies have all died, the projectiles will continue to orbit around in her bubble like a floating blender of death.

The Exergis was my Go-to primary from the time Fortuna dropped until we got the Tenet plasmor, makes me wish the Exergis could get an upgraded variant too.
Coming here after jade shadows. Putting on both Cannonade and Shotgun Elementalist makes it really comfy and good to use. It also looks awesome as both fashion and weapon with corvex. My mods include galvanized chamber and savvy, a riven with dmg and punch through (Replacing semi cannonade for more punch through but lesser dmg) viral+heat with cold using chilling reload. Fun and certainly a corpus tigris moment.
So the game rounds up for ammo. You dont need primed ammo stock, in fact, replacing it with shotgun elementalist also gives you ammo capacity and makes the gun glorious.
The +1 mag capacity turns this thing into Corpus version of the Tigris 😅
If you wanna give it a shot, I use the exergis with Mirage and Energized munitions, and it is one of the most entertaining builds I have.
I even used it in the Circuit once, and I got that decree that gives ammo efficiency after a roll - and it was even more insanely fun cause it was just using Energized Munitions, rolling, then shooting like 6-7 shots before needing to reload!

Also a cool thing galvanized savvy scales multiplicatively on this weapon with other flat damage (merciless or point blank) meaning more damage and also you only need regular ammo stock because it rounds up to 2 shots afaik :)

i love comboing this with Tenet Diplos and Arcane Pistoleer for the infinite mag dumping you get with the shotgun after proccing the arcane

Punch through isn't needed since the 0.5 only matters for objects. It does have infinite enemy punch through.
Ah, my sweet Exergis. My beloved crystal-blasting shotgun queen. I have her with a sweet riven that grants.more Slash stats and damage, paired with Ammo stock mod for 2 shots ready for firing. (Also, using normal Ammo Stock mod is enough.)

Fair warning about Primed Ammo Stock: You'd only use that if you explicitly want to get 3 shots by combining it with Atomic Fallout. Otherwise Rank 4 Ammo Stock is all you'll need to get the second shot, since it'll round up, literally halving the amount of mod capacity you need. Genuinely, it might be the difference in using a forma or not.
The Exergis can be especially fun if you pair it with Arcane Pistoleer, since you only need the secondary to trigger the effect; Pistoleer's effect is not _limited_ to secondaries, so you can absolutely get a headshot kill and then go off with like 8-10 seconds of infinite ammo Exergis. If you decide to go that route, you can also skip out on Ammo Stock, but if you decide to go for Energized Munitions instead, you can keep it, since that'd boost it to 8 per mag rather than 4.
There's also a big damage setup you can go for, here.
Primary Deadhead
Galvanized Hell - Primed Point Blank - Primed Ammo Stock - Atomic Fallout
Primed Charged Shell - Toxic Barrage - Chilling Reload - Galvanized Savvy
Three shots before reload. 86.4% status chance, 10 pellets when Galvanized Hell is fully stacked, so 8 status effects on average.
In order from least to most damage weighting: Impact, Puncture, Slash, Cold, Radiation, Corrosive.
First shot often stacks anywhere between 2-5 stacks of corrosive.
Yes, Exergis is a shotgun, but its falloff only starts happening past 30m, which is absurdly high, and in most cases you'll be using it within 20m or more likely 15m, so falloff should never be an issue. I could reliably get 50% of the spread on heads within 12m.
If you use it with Xata's Whisper or Mag's Magnetize bubble, it becomes hilarious. The Exergis naturally has very high damage and innate 0.5 punchthrough by default, so it'll slingshot around your main target and hit nearby enemies, while also doing enough damage to oneshot level 225 steel path heavy gunners 50% of the time if you get full spread on their head with all buffs stacked up.
Since Galv Savy is kinda nuts on this, I'd try to go with Shotgun Vendetta instead of Primary Merciless. Less base damage and need proc it shooting in-yo-face, but extra multishot could do wonders.
Imagine this weapon if shotguns had a mod like snipers for more damage on the final shot. This thing would basically be the shotgun version of the Vectis Prime.

I got a riven for this bad boy that gives it like +300% multishot and - scope zoom. I run it exclusively with combat discipline setups and deck it out for crit, and i love seeing 15 different 1 million damage Slash procs happening all at once. It's a beautiful 1 shot button.
YES YES YES, THE EXERGIS IS THE COOLEST CORPUS WEAPON IMO, SUCH A DAMNNED SHAME THAT IT DIDNT GET THE TENET TREATMENT.
I'd say replace Primed Point Blank with Heat/Toxin/Electric for Grineer/Corpus/Murmur respectively.
One more DoT to go with Slash, extra important against Acolytes and other Status Resistant Enemies. The chance for Slash Procs would drop from 42% to 35% (with a 32% chance for your added DoT) but that should be fine, especially when the Enemy Armor changes ship. And that's without considering Sweeping Serration.
Plus even just a 60/60 would deal ~18% more Damage than PPB + Acolyte Arcane-, growing more significant with Gundition Overload, eg +34% final Damage at full Savvy Stacks and against 5 Procs (IPS + Rad + the 60/60s DoT)-. With a Primed Elemental Mod we'd have 95% more Damage- at the very least!- Double the boom!
Edit: Apparently Galvanized Savvy is Multiplicative to other Damage Mods? So it'd be +34% Damage for a 60/60 over PPB, +40% for regular Elemental and +95% for a Primed Elemental.

This weapon is really enjoyable on an Energized Munitions helminth Gauss. Fire faster, Reload faster, Fire four shots per reload.

This weapon works great with Mag's magnetize, the projectiles just delete anything instantly when they enter the bubble
true but there are far better options than this gun tbh and I can easily say Nataruk can do the exact same thing or even the Penta if you don't run the Napalm Grenades mod and run hunter munitions without detonating the grenades while they're in the bubble
I got a magazine riven for this one and managed to take it to 3 whole bullets. It makes a world of difference

don't expect a tenet version in this lifetime it's been 3 years since they brought out sisters of parvos and so far the Glaxion is the newest weapon since the Ferrox last year (which means 2 years time) so don't go expecting anymore new tenet weapons for a while

Primed Reload brings it down to 0.8s, it actually really helps it out.
I would recommend using Shotgun Vendetta. Gives you an extra 180% multishot for a simple kill.

"difficult to make work" I have honestly found the Exergis to be one of the easiest guns to make work ._. (also, prime ammo stock isn't needed for 2 bullets in barrel. You can just use a rank 5 ammo stock and use the other mod capacity for other stuff)

Oh, you should add projectile speed to add more punchthrough. Because like borderlands, its not based on distance, its based on 'time in air'
So for projectile weapons: more projectile speed, more punchthrough.
Oh it's also an accuracy buff, for tighter spread on shotguns. Or multishot in general I suppose

I'm happy you at least found a semblance of build and had fun with it, but I do have to point it out: congratulations, you just made... the Tigris Prime, with a side of Radiation.
I don't really think that's the end point you were looking for sadly, but alas, here we are. I do hope you can find another kind of build for it in the future, because I don't really see it shinning as a standalone build given the stats of the weapon. That, or either a touch-up on the stats proper to help the weapon finally have a proper place on its own.
But it's cooler because you're detonating a crystal into your enemies

i run primed ammo stock and my riven also has an extra 40% magazine size so i managed to get 3 shots on the exergis, obviously not as impactful as the second shot but still very nice to use
You could run heat and viral and get good damage with an occasional slash proc

And im very Glad that i got a Fantastic Riven for it with Multishot Statuschance Projektile Speed and minus Impact. my Current Build has 122.3% status 9.8 Multi shot and an Falloff (Projektile Speed increases the range of shotguns) 60,2 -120.4 so yes in a range of 60 meter it does full dmg
Steflos is another personal favorite of mine. Similar to Exergis, it has great design and feel but just a bit lackluster in today’s game. Has he done Steflos yet?

you should definitely look into your exergis mods if mag + exergis is something you use a lot

If you add Atomic Fallout you will get 3 shots before reloading. Give it a go.
Just go full up front damage, multishot, mag capacity and reload speed? and do Puncutre or Impact instead of Slash? sure slash tics bypass armor but if youre double tapping on the upfront damage then you arent capitalizing on the best part of slash which is inflicting it and then moving on to the next enemy while they bleed out.
I'm curious why doesn't Normal ammo stock work on exergis? One of the most common builds for the kuva tonkor use primed magazine wrap which is 55% at max and that gives it 2 rounds as well. honestly should try normal ammo stock which gives 60% magazine to see if it rounds up to 2 rounds as well.
When DE will release an updated version of this weapon. I would LOVE a Tenet Exergis to exist
the question isn't "when" it's actually if they decide to because it took them 2 years to bring out the Tenet Ferrox and 3 years to bring the Glaxion so to that I give you an answer of don't expect it anytime soon if at all

I personally use this gun only to charge Nova's 2 and that's it honestly because even with Mag and some punch through this gun isn't the greatest imo

Its the Status Effects themselves that are Capped... Only Specific Enemies are Hard Coded to have a Status Cap.
