Maybe not the entire thing but they talked about what happens after the initial book before Terry Pratchett died, so I do not think that was simply a move to do right by the audience, but even if it was, this is not a bad thing, you think we actually see good representation often, but we do not. Also, this season is quite certainly a bridge to a new plot line and storyline that will take place in season 3. After all, the first season covered the book which was supposed to be "all", but they renewed it because it was a success. So its clear to me that season 2 is more of the setting scenes for season 3. You are entitled to your own opinion, but being LGBT+ is not "woke", this is a word right-wingers fill media with just to make the left look terrible. If you don't like a show that features lgbt characters, just don't watch it, it's not that hard.

All of the cheeky humor and fun narration of season 1 is gone and the amazing cast they had there is gone as well. Season 1 had an interesting story and good writing. Crowley's confession is so beautiful and from the heart, you can feel his heart being ripped out of his chest. And that kiss! Desperation from a being that has never thought to, or been able to consider what exactly his relationship was, or what he wants it to be. The kiss is his final way to express what he wants when his words failed him. I long for a season 3 where Aziraphale is made to do the sorry dance, where he finds that in his heart of hearts Heaven is not his home or his keeper any more, and when he kisses Crowley again it's out of his own desperation that sinks into warmth and love and all the comfort of a pair that know each other so very well it hurts. But mostly the sorry dance. I also want them to finally go to Alpha Centauri for some kind of like post credit "honeymoon" after they finally get to be on their own side.
YES!!! How many times, over 6000 years, has Aziraphale pushed Crowley away, but still Crowley is there for him when Aziraphale needs him? Aziraphale needs to realize that, even though he's a demon, Crowley truly loves him. After all, think of how often Aziraphale tells Crowley that deep down he's a good person or that he did something kind. And even when Nina asked Crowley if "the bookseller" was his "bit on the side", Crowley's response wasn't to defend himself, but to defend Aziraphale: "He's far too pure of heart to be anybody's bit on the side." That's love, and Aziraphale needs to realize that and go back to Crowley and do the apology dance.
@@annen3706I do feel like they were both a bit wrong though? Crowley's plan to run away always seemed a bit rushed to me. Just running away? Leaving earth and all the things they love there? Their love is not like Beelzebub and Gabriel, they can't just keep running away. Aziraphale would never be happy with that. Crowley wouldn't either. They need a world where they would be safe and happy together and that is what Aziraphale is working towards but he's doing that with beings that have hurt him and Crowley very very badly and Crowley realizes both heaven and hell are toxic and Aziraphale kind of does too but he's optimistic and idealistic and things he create change within and maybe he can from what we've seen with Muriel and now Gabriel. This whole season was quite like something from a Jane Austen novel, which was also implied with all the mentions of the books, and as a queer Austen fan, I loved every second. Crowley's speech before the kiss was just beautiful, and Aziraphale was very strongly impacted by the kiss, that hesitant hand on Crowley's shoulder, touching his lips after. Aziraphale is a bit clueless at times, but I think he got the message. The season ended midway to a good Austen story, and we need the third season to see where things go, but I personally choose to believe Aziraphale went upstairs only because he thinks he can stop the second coming, and he feels it's his duty to fix things. Nothing less would have kept him from going with Crowley. I love this show, and the chemistry these two have.
This season made me wonder if the 'sentience' and 'magic' apparently contained in the bentley is like infused with a tiny fragment of crowley's consciousness or something. Would explain why he can feel it driving under the speed limit or changing colour 😂 And why it likes aziraphale
I think honestly the reason crowley lives in his car and not in the bookshop is because he wants to keep an eye on aziraphale but doesn't want to seem like he is keeping an eye on him. If something happens etc. He can be there to stop it. Like when it caught on fire etc. Because living in the bookshop he might not be prepared if something happens inside. It's very in character for him to stay nearby ready if aziraphale needs him but trying to be kool about it.
Started squealing when i heard good old fashioned lover boy, so surprised to see them add it. Honesty S2 put their entire rel. Into questioning, and it was frightening but very real. I'm very happy they did though, made them talk deeply for once. Really hope S3 happens....

Most series season' end on a cliffhanger. I don't see what the big deal is. It was a hilarious season, we got a lot of character development, and I think what Aziraphale did was in keeping with his character and made sense. He wanted to be with Crowley in heaven. He loved creation and humans so much too that he would have felt selfish only concentrating on his own wellbeing.

That's the trouble. Crowley's never told him the hard bits (ranging from "Gabriel told you to shut your mouth and die" to "I don't have my flat anymore"), because he doesn't want Aziraphale to have to be as cynical as he is. But that means Aziraphale doesn't immediately see what the problem is with that offer from heaven...and Crowley, being a bit flustered, forgot that he'd need to be told things like "I saw the video where Metatron voted for to depose Gabriel for opposing Armageddon round 2".

Their love is not like Beelzebub and Gabriel, they can't just keep running away. Aziraphale would never be happy with that. Crowley wouldn't either. They need a world where they would be safe and happy together and that is what Aziraphale is working towards but he's doing that with beings that have hurt him and Crowley very very badly and Crowley realizes both heaven and hell are toxic and Aziraphale kind of does too but he's optimistic and idealistic and things he create change within and maybe he can from what we've seen with Muriel and now Gabriel. I see both of them being a bit selfless and selfish and a lot of miscommunication and trauma 😢

This whole season was quite like something from a Jane Austen novel, which was also implied with all the mentions of the books, and as a queer Austen fan, I loved every second. Crowley's speech before the kiss was just beautiful, and Aziraphale was very strongly impacted by the kiss, that hesitant hand on Crowley's shoulder, touching his lips after. Aziraphale is a bit clueless at times, but I think he got the message.
The season ended midway to a good Austen story, and we need the third season to see where things go, but I personally choose to believe Aziraphale went upstairs only because he thinks he can stop the second coming, and he feels it's his duty to fix things. Nothing less would have kept him from going with Crowley.
I love this show, and the chemistry these two have.

I think honestly the reason crowley lives in his car and not in the bookshop is because he wants to keep an eye on aziraphale but doesn't want to seem like he is keeping an eye on him. If something happens etc. He can be there to stop it. Like when it caught on fire etc. Because living in the bookshop he might not be prepared if something happens inside. It's very in character for him to stay nearby ready if aziraphale needs him but trying to be kool about it.

Most series season' end on a cliffhanger. I don't see what the big deal is. It was a hilarious season, we got a lot of character development, and I think what Aziraphale did was in keeping with his character and made sense. He wanted to be with Crowley in heaven. He loved creation and humans so much too that he would have felt selfish only concentrating on his own wellbeing.

That's the trouble. Crowley's never told him the hard bits (ranging from "Gabriel told you to shut your mouth and die" to "I don't have my flat anymore"), because he doesn't want Aziraphale to have to be as cynical as he is.
But that means Aziraphale doesn't immediately see what the problem is with that offer from heaven...and Crowley, being a bit flustered, forgot that he'd need to be told things like "I saw the video where Metatron voted for to depose Gabriel for opposing Armageddon round 2".

You're correct, it is Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saëns. It's one of my favorite classical pieces. It actually tells the story of Death calling forth the dead at midnight on Halloween, to dance for him while he plays his violin. They dance all night until the rooster crows at dawn, then they return to their graves for another year (the music even has the twelve strokes of midnight and the rooster's crow written in). 💀
