This is the store that revolutionized shopping globally. Merchandise was on display for customers to touch and there were bathrooms. We take those features for granted but way back when the store opened they were life changing especially for women. Sadly life didn’t finish well for Mr. Selfridge.

I love London and the Christmas time in London. I don't live in the UK. Whenever I go to London, I go to Selfridges. I didn't know that Selfridges was a luxury store. It's one of my favorites in London. I like the atmosphere in this department store and the salespeople are very kind towards customers. I love being there. My advice to you ..is try to focus for 5 seconds the whole shelf of ( make ups , Foods, chairs, anything) just like a customer who tried to look at really close about what attracts him...... We will thank you for that....but thank you for this video...... Looking forward 🙂❤️

You need to think about your video, too fast, and not allowing your camera to focus, and in the whole of the video no indication of any prices, sure its walking through but very little real information that potential shoppers would want to know. I was amazed how little contact staff were making with customers, little greeting, hardly any eye contact, heads in computers, compared to Harrods staff wise very poor for a top store
Hi Bryan, thanks for the feedback - I'll try to get more shots of prices etc as you suggest (sometimes more focussed on where I'm walking next than what I'm actually pointing at!) Unfortunately sign of the times regarding staff having head in their phones, Fortnum's seems better for that also. Cheers
Beyond all of the history, the social changes this flagship created, the annoying name of its founder this place is a total over priced zoo. Having lived in London for many many years I avoided this place. In the 2000’s it was truly bizarre. Much of the original fittings abs fixtures were removed and the place became more and more like a whitewashed barn. I never felt the stock was even as you could easily find a horn for 30,000 and then shoes for 250 but nothing normal. Also a LOT of the stock was weird designs much of it unwearable and desperately like a world bizarre of extreme collections. Wander around to find more sensible clothing took a lot of work as Selfridges is a kind of candy wrapper beyond trend place. It is enormous and could easily take numerous visits to work one’s way around.
it was a great tour. I saw this perfect place without paying passport , visa , air ticket money , departure tax and tirelessly , thank you very much . However, I did not like the many foreign, non-British people I saw. It is wrong to accept people from different races and cultures in your country. racist party should be in power
