    Thank you so much for making this video!! I am currently in week 3 of HA/ED recovery and it is HARD. The eating more food, the food rules, the not exercising, the gaining weight, the body image struggle. I am 42 years old and struggling with this. I beat my body up to get to a certain size that I felt comfortable in - not that God chose for me to be. I am so afraid of all the weight gain and going back to the size I came from of 150#, but I guess it is all part of the process and the due I may need to pay for how I treated my body.

    I love the last point, it's definitely my issue, I am a Christian and believe that this is such an encouragement "I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;" Psalms 139:14 NKJV That's all body types and sizes it's how God made us unique 😊

    oh my word, I keep asking myself who talked us into this huge lie? I feel as if we were all duped into believing it at one point of our precious lives. So grateful that there are waking-up moments and people out there who support the self-crippling social outcasts that I have still partly belonged to, but making my way out! slowly but steadily, as you say, to make it sustainable.     I feel this video really helped me and i related to what you were saying so much! I have lost my period for 5 months now and I have just started to decide to make a change because I realized that not getting my period for that long is not normal. The cause for getting secondary amenorrhea for me was overexercising and being super strict on what I was eating. I haven’t gotten my period back yet but some of my symptoms that I have been having is horrible stomach pains that feel worse than a menstrual cramp

      @@user-qs2xs8ls4e I’ve gotten my period back in October, and recovered in December!!! I feel so much better now because I can eat freely and exercise knowing my limits. I was not eating the recommended 2500 calories each day but was eating close to it, and eating when I was hungry and not hungry. I did little to no exercise, and it really worked!

    I lost my period in 9 months because of exercising to hard and obsessed of getting 'skinny'. I stopped exercising for 3 months when I noticed that this is not healthy anymore. I ate everything I want, breads, sweets and other unhealthy foods. My stomach even got bigger. In the first week of February I noticed that my nipples hurts when I pressed and then in last week of February, I finally got my period back.

      I’ve been just eating whatever I want for the past month and definitely notice the little jiggles on my waist. Sometimes it’s a struggle because there is no exact timeline for this. But thanks for sharing this that means there hope that period will come back

    I struggle with this because I can't be sure whether or not I would have my period back without contraceptives. Birth control is absolutely neccecary for me so stopping it is not an options 😕

    I am 14, and have lost it😬
    I know I have to gain weight to get it back, but being in school with kids who will make fun of my weight gain will just make me hate myself more.
    I know I need to gain but I am sooo not motivated to because I just can't face myself to gain weight

    i recently just lost my period for three years just the previous night i got it back doctors had no answers. they first said they were going to put me on birth control to try to get it back and regulate it. then at the same office they had me seeing another doctor and she tried saying i had a eating disorder without listening to anything me or my mom had to say. even tho i was frustrated i drank the boosts and ensurs for a few months and gave up because i knew it just wasn’t for me. i was so stressed out in school i had so much anxiety i’d have panic attacks everyday and breakdown in school. they’d send me home or if refuse to go back to class terrified because i knew everyone knew i was crying. i felt so humiliated and embarrassed and exhausted. i ended up getting a therapist through school and they put me in homeschooling. it was for the better i ended up getting way better my anxiety was still bad but it was getting better i don’t think i could walk into that school again but other than that i’ve been pretty much fine. a year later i’ve been better leaving my house so much more haven’t been as isolated and enjoying time with family and friends and honestly i think that’s what helped. because overall the stress i feel like is what caused everything. anyways we will see if it lasts…

    I've lost mine over 2 years ago. I can't seem to get it back. My body weight is good and so is my body fat. I've upped my calories, but do exercise a lot. I also just got diagnosed with my second autoimmune disease and working on trying to diagnose a 3rd. I'm thinking its a combo of over exercising and the autoimmune. Hoping to get my cycle back.

      im in kind of the same situation. but its not like I eat too little. im not in a huge major deficit. and my body fat is high enough. so I really don't know what's happening

      If you dont want to stop exercise i recommend yoga, pliates and strength training but just 3-5 times a week and make sure you eat in a surplus so you get enough fuel esp if you have ha. I havent got a period for 1.5 yrs and 2 days ago i got an extremely light one like its more like spotting rather than a regular flow but this happens until today so im going to track this and eat more to ensure that i can get a regular period flow. Btw i did gain weight around 5-6ish kgs or 11-12 pounds. REMEMBER health is more important than weight. If you do gain weight during recovery thats OK. You can always go on a slight deficit later, dont over do it tho. Sorry if this was too long

      work muscle leg ups few reps weight not walking too high calories. carbs Protein need to be good and 5 a day. even walking can make you lose this. It Doesn't even need to be fast. Found out the hard way 😪 I did that in a few months. I was a runner then got sick. Couldn't sweat anymore waiting for bloodwork results. I Hate walking makes me want to 🤢. Miss running so much. 90 mins walk can be too much if cal too low prolly need more than maintenance even 60 is bad too weak to run. It may take weeks to recover any strength. My bmi was perfect. I lost it at high bmi as I didn't meet calorie needs effectively hard to tell. I'm also ill overall. Hope it helps experience. I've high metabolism and this is 3rd time its happened I was running more than walking during the lockdown it was just walking .walking can be risky do what you are able for go with doctor registered dietician not online. Feel better. I hope I could help.

      When you exercise in general you’re releasing stress hormones and being stressed at this time is not a very good idea. However I was still doing yoga and stretching because it helped me to calm my mind and made me think that I’m not lazy lol. And after a month I got my period, because my BMI was 19 and it was considered as normal weight so that’s why I think I got mine very fast but it’s all different for everyone ❤️

      Aygül Çetin your BMI is way too low ! A healthy bmi is above 18 so you need to gain weight to sustain a healthy lifestyle or your bones and whole future could be at risk of osteoporosis xx

    What you say makes sense. Thank you for sharing that with us. Eat well and stay healthy food important 👌. Fat important especially for us women. Dont be scared of eating yummy things. I do and I am fit it is good for the mental health especially when you share it with the family. Just stay away from garbage food the food that is actually not healthy like make chips at home to gain fat instead of taking away from the restaurant. And try different fat, sometimes i cook with coconut oil sometimes with olive, and there are so many like the avocado and almond and drink avocado juice from time to time. Fat and protein are essential for hair. Not eating well cause hair shedding. So you really stay positive and embrace yourself, you are beautiful the way you are. When you exercise dont do it to burn food do it to maintain a healthy strong body. Change your goals make them positive.       Is there a medical test that can be done to confirm that this is that this is really the cause for me losing your period. Also, why do I still feel good (strong and not tired) if I am not getting enough food? Also, should I make myself eat more even if I’m not that hungry, and do you think I have to cut out exercise completely, or can I just cut down (I currently exercise 5-6 times a week). Do you think a specific type of exercise might be at fault or more important to cut out (cardio, weightlifting, etc)? Also, are there a permanent negative consequences from losing your period due to not eating enough/over exercising? And, I don’t feel like my routine is that extreme. Is HA common among other people that exercise a lot /athletes?

    Can I exercise if I eat good? I mean I eat very good, I lost my period at 14 but I Start eating again and I feel super again but I want to continue running 30 minutes 6 days every week

      Sara Zaltos exercise and running especially releases a lot of cortisol which is bad when you have amenorrhea... you may have to stop running until you have it back and then add it back in...

    Can very long walks cause this i'm losing or already have lost mine but probably sick. I've lost the ability to sweat (this led to very rapid weight gain 7 pounds in 2 weeks I couldnt fit in jeans then seconds set I bought . Waist increased nowhere else my face and hands swelled. Know Its water not fat but worried for health. I didnt sweat even in high temperature and 5 layers. I gave up running as I didn't like this experience. I walk 90 minutes a day and was maintaining weight on my intake fpr almost 6 months so was surprised when I got this again my energy was low but pandemic would make you feel tired anyway. Got out more and backfired big time. its been 4 years since first time got too light by mistake. I definitely didn't think I underate. Due to history of heart problem and anemia I've gotten bloodwork due to covid 19 it will be Monday. I notice when I'm drinking water over my rda 2 liters i add up to three pounds overnight low salt and sugar. I ve ruled out Dehydration I'm gaining that amount ie 2 litres turns into 4 pounds the following morning 12 hours later. I don't visit the restroom more than 7 times a day though normal colour. I gained rapidly due to inability to sweat I tried limiting fluid. It improved one day and got worse. I kept it the same gained quickly as its very hard not to drink water i only noticed that due to a 4 inch increase in waist I've had slow heart rate before its very worrying. If anyone's heard of that or my 90 min walk may have been two much for a petite lady bmi 21. It had been working at around 1500 cals. Im considering cutting out the walking.

    Im 14 and lost my period 4 months ago. Due to quarantine i have not done any exercises and my food intake has become relatively smaller since the quarantine started. I have gained weight but not to the point of being overweight (maybe because of lack of movement). I am lost on what to do, so can someone kind enough to comment and enlighten me on what to do. Your help will be appreciated.

      I would recommend seeing a doctor (gynecologist) and talk about that issue. They can do blood and hormon tests, to see what is going on.

    I have all the symptoms you said plus many more. I've been on low fodmap for 13 years. If I stop doing it or even add in some high fodmap foods I get severe symptoms which stop me from working I just can't risk it. I know you'll be thinking I should see my doctor but they just don't care at all. I actually love a lot of the food
    s that affect me such as brocoli and Brussels sprouts so it makes me so frustrated.

    did you take birth control pills? I went to the doctor and he told me to start taking birth control pills but I am scared that my body start rely on the medicine. Thus, I have to be on pill forever. Should I stop taking them and see if my body can come it self?

      Some doctors don’t know what they’re talking about, like I got my period without taking any pills. All I did was just cut down my exercising and started listening to my body and ate whenever I’m hungry and stop whenever I’m full

    I don't want my period because I faint, I throw everything up and have to go to toilet often.It blocks me for going to college or make any plan. Pills don't do anything. Change it 6 times.visited 7 doctors. I don't want children and I want to lose 30 kg because I'm 80 kg. Just no period with no side effects and I'm gonna be happy. :))
