This video was very helpful indeed. Very well explained and I thank you that you don't over talk your video. Jus got my embroidery machine today. Looking forward to get started..
Such a great video. Thank you! I did a hat once and broke a needle….never had enough courage to try another one. After watching your video, I’m going to get one of those hats and try it again. 😊
Thank you. 🙂 I honestly don't use a tension gauge. I've done enough trial and error with my machines that all my tension is gauged by feel and how it stitches. My best advice is start with your regular tension and then adjust in very small increments. Tighter tension for puff embroidery. 🙂
hello i just got my v22 and i keep getting birds nest when im stitching on structured hat. what am i doing wrong? tension is okay. and i adjust my cap driver so i can go as low as possible to the needle plate. hoop tightly as well. when i run the same file on my ricoma machine it's perfect but my bai v22 cant handle the same 3D puff design.
When you say your tension is ok what do you mean? Using the tension that you use for a flat won't work. You have to use a tighter top tension for the needles you use for 3D puff. I haven't made any adjustments to the cap driver on the V22 for hats. I do have 3 needles that are specially tensioned for 3D puff though. I use Richardson 112 or Yupoong typically. Also remember just because they run well on a different machine doesn't really mean anything. All machines are different and need to be dialed in accordingly.
Do you have a video on how to adjust the thread I go a new 1501 mirror have not been able to do one cap thread starts and breaks right away I have not adjusted nothing at all
Sorry I don't have a video. But Indo use a Towa tension gauge for my bobbin and once that is set then I adjust my top thread. For puff your tension has to be a bit tighter to avoid bird nesting. A good way to check would be to use a test hat and stitch letters. After each letter isn't these stop the machine and check the back. Adjust accordingly until the back of your stitches have about 1/3 of bobbin thread showing just like you would for flat stitches.
Add on to this question, coz I having a hard time with hats as I just beginning to try on hats. what is the value for your bobbin tension ( I am using towa gauge too). I follow the manual so I set it to 250- 280 just want to know if you using the same. I saw you post u using titanium needle 75/11 sharp. What brand you using?
I don't do caps on my Mirror. I have seen others do so successfully with some adjustments. The V22 is an industrial machine so heavier and able to manage just about any material with ease. The Mirror is an industrial machine and can manage quite a bit but I prefer to use it for flats.
your videos are top quality! Thank you for the time you spent sharing what you know!
Thank you so much! 😊

You explained this all beautifully
Thanks!
Thank you for sharing. you the best
You are so welcome!
I think its best practice to use the same colored foam and thread or something close as you dont wanna spend so much time with the heat gun.
Typically I do but, I wanted to show that it is still possible to do regardless of the color you use.

Hi, that's a part of my hat hooping station, it came with it.
Easy to follow video! Design embroidered nicely. Where did you get the font?
Thank you! Vitor digitizing is where I purchased the font.

Nice! I'm looking to get another BAI. What size needle do you use for the puff vs. regular hat embroidery?
Thanks! I use titanium 75/11 sharps for everything 😊
Can you do a snake font on the bai mirror 1501? What’s the difference in v22 and a mirror 1501

Hallo how big can the design be for front of hat?
Height max is 2.5 inches but most people stay at about 2.3. Max width is about 5 inches.
