You know what I love most about you Valentina? You’re unapologetically you. You don’t tiptoe around saying something that might be unpopular or because you’re afraid of hurting someone’s feelings, but you are so kind and humble. Like a girlfriend giving advice. Do you know how many influencers shame people for not wearing heels? 😳 Seriously though, I love what you say about wearing what feels good. You’re so uplifting and I always come away from your videos with at least one thing I try. 💕
I love your enthusiasm and especially love your home decorating videos! While your fashion advice is good, I was shocked by the outrageous prices at FarFetch! While it's important to buy good quality clothing, those prices are unacceptable. I was surprised because you do such a great job at sourcing reasonably priced home decor.
Lily Silk has made up the majority of my wardrobe for years now. Their styling is continually improving and the prices are fair. They offer free custom sizing on many items, now, too (not on knits). Also, Quince has the best ever silk skirts, they are perfect in every way, have hidden, slightly elastic waists, but are only $60. They come in lots of colors now, but I’m still hoping for white, pale pink and pale blue, it’s hard to find silk bottoms in the lighter colors that I prefer (I found beige cargo silk trousers on Lily Silk). I’ve changed my shopping habits so much, now I buy a few high-quality, classic items that I’ll wear forever instead of a lot of fast-fashion. I had to stop looking at brands like H&M, they’re great styles and low prices are so tempting, but the quality isn’t there. I can’t wear any synthetic fibers or plastic shoes. My go-to outfit is a silk top and silk skirt or trousers, with a blazer and boots added for winter (California). I love silk knits, too, and Lily Silk has great ones. I’m hoping they’ll add a white silk knit, round-neck, long-sleeved tee, in addition to my V-neck one, which I practically live in.
I love my Marinieres (striped knit tops), large bust and all. Yes to sizing up, and not just on these, but on all garments. The biggest fashion faux pas out there is squeezing into a size too small, it visually packs on the pounds and gives that unflattering “bursting out” look. My personal rule is: no strain lines across the body. No one can see the size label anyway, wear what fits right, not because you want a certain size number or letter. It’s been tricky for almost all of us, who gained some lockdown weight, our clothes might be too small now. I just wore the looser ones until I got back to size.
I love wearing silk, it’s a bit addictive. I always choose a silk top unless there is some reason it won’t work. I’ve been adding silk trousers to my shirts/blouses/dresses, they’re amazing. Once I tried silk undies and socks, I couldn’t go back to hideous synthetic ones. My silk socks from Tabio replaced all others in my wardrobe, they really help the sore places on my troublesome feet. I just wish I could find silk tights, they disappeared around 2000. They were so great and hardly ever ran. (In my defense, it’s not just for luxury, I have extremely sensitive, reactive skin. One wearing of something with a label, for example, causes permanent skin tags (the flat kind, not those hanging things) to form all over the label area, they’re everywhere my clothing edges, like collars and waistbands, are and they drive me bonkers).
Girl, you are my wardrobe hero lol I just turned 30 and suddenly have no clue how to dress myself. Your videos are so focused and grounding as to what I (and we all) ACTUALLY need without wasting our money on frivolity (or emotional shopping 😅).
You're channels are definitely binge watch worthy! V you talked me into clearing my closet to make room for wardrobe saviors! I appreciate your closet pieces and espire for bringing in fabulous pieces into my closet darling...👏💄👠🕶🙌
Hi Valentina, your home styling videos got me through Covid with my sanity somewhat intact. I like this new channel even more! I am about to turn 60 and have a horrible time finding good fitting clothes. At 5’5” I have a very short torso and very short arms, so Petite fits better- in a 2x or 3x. Can you help me educate companies to realize someone can be Petite AND Plus-sized? They act like Petite is a size, not a cut. Thanks from Canada 🇨🇦
Great video Vale! Tip: when wearing a turtleneck, pull your hair back in a ponytail, half ponytail or a bun to elongate. Since they cover our neck, it’s key to then uncover the sides of our face. Try it! ❤😊
Thanks for sharing V.! Another great video. Having a steamer that actually works would make life a lot easier. Going to start by checking out your favorites. Enjoy your weekend!
Sending so much love and thanks from across the pond 🇬🇧 for your new fashion channel ❤️ 👗👚! Would love to see your hair and makeup routines! How do you get your gorgeous long hair to stay curled all day? 🙂x
Great pieces! I have the hardest time with black because my dog that sheds is light colored and constant battle ughhh. I would love to wear more black. I know you have a light dog how do you contend with not getting hair on your black clothes?
I love both your channels and your energy!!:) I wanted to mention an awesome company called: Quince, also known as One Quince. They have awesome silks and cashmere items at affordable prices. They might be a great sponsor for you. Thanks for all you do to bring joy and beauty into our world!! :)
Valentina I have down loaded the telegram app so be able to respond for the appreciation package, I'm sorry I have not been sucessful in trying to communicate with you.
I didn’t used to feel this way but I’ll spend a lot of money on a name brand item that I like because I work and I want to buy something that I really like and I’ll feel like money! Can be a good feeling
The “person” directing people to send them a text via Telegram is a scam. I fell for it on another channel, but caught it before sending them any info. You can look it up by searching “UA-cam scams”.
I love love, love your channel. I’ve watched your interior design channel for several years and now your clothing channel is absolutely wonderful.
